  • This will NEVER get old...

  • "I hurt my foo-foo" [Mary loses it] -- Funniest part of this clip!!!!

  • I am not little nor a Khazarian swine. Your question of why the re-run line ups are so bad. I gave you one of the reasons. They are 2% of the total population of the US. Yet, They own/ control Hollywood. The mass media. Las Vegas. Wall Street. You do not know who ghost wrote Mein Kempf do you? Alec Baldwin was great on SNL. And to be good, there is no name calling.

  • I never understood while the Chuckles the Clown episode goes down as a classic MTM episode. I never found this episode the least bit funny at all, in fact terrible just cause MTM acts all serious then starts cracking up at the funeral--not funny.

  • So let me see if I understand this about TV Land. They show reruns of one of the worst sitcoms of all time everyday, The Nanny, but will not show reruns of an all time classic like Mary Tyler Moore. Try giving what the people want and they might watch.

  • @MultiMrfalcon The 'star' of The Nanny is of the same faith as who owns/controls the industry. Can yew guess who?

  • @wikkid61 Hey little hitler, put down your audio version of mein kempf, voiced by Alec Baldwin, and explain to me what that has to do with my first post. This should be good.

  • @MultiMrfalcon ABC owns the copyrights, look for a station called MeTV on cable, it's on every night.

  • @scottalias I guess Direct TV does not have it. Damn!

  • I don't know why people consider a scene like this overrated. What sets shows from this time period apart from today's shows is the realism of the situations. We can all identify with Mary here.Even though more recent shows like Seinfeld & Friends had some decent quality writing at times, there was too much of a buffoonery, slapstick nature to them. You can't identify as much. Which, in my belief, is the reason why the latter shows will date sooner. I don't think MTM will ever really be dated.

  • This is the very first episode of the Mary Tyler Moore show that I've seen (brought here by a "Best Sitcom Episode Ever" competition) and I was quite literally in tears, laughing hysterically through the funeral scene. I'm still rooting for the Community paintball episode, but at least I now know what I've been missing.

  • @teamgreat Congrats on discovering this wonderful show! Try Hulu for more MTM for free! My fav eps: 'Put on a Happy Face'-(which is posted on YT) and 'The Snow Must Go On"--just hilarious!

  • I love the way the priest sells the line: A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer in my pants....

  • Seltzer down the pants? LOL.

  • I haven't seen that one since it originally aired, it was still funny.

  • I hurt my foofoo.that has been a family joke for years

  • Parson's tables were so big in the 70s

  • What's hysterical about this episode is everyone laughing, Mary being serious. At the funeral, the priest invites her to laugh, and what does she do...? Classic!

  • @BlackDiamondPublish you damn right it was!!!

  • Over-rated, are you crazy! This show is a classic!

  • a little overrated, good, but overrated.

  • could have gone as billy banana n been peeled to death

  • "What would you suggest, dear? Fruit?" ROTFLMAO!!!!!

  • omg I laugh myself to tears every time I watch this. Such a classic episode. Best one ever.

  • @HexSabre

I'm cracking up here my self! Tell me do you know where THIS kind of comedy has GONE? : D

  • @AntiqueAngel44 I think the best laugh I've ever heard since MTM's laughing was Kitty Forman in the "Garage Sale" episode.

  • I remember this episode! I loved this show.

  • This is my all time favorite show. The writing and the cast were the best. They don't make shows like this anymore. This was the best cast in television.

  • chuckles death was not out of the ordinary... just like that of captain kangaroo..

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT !! No better sitcom on TV , ever !! Also , the best ensemble cast in sitcom History !! xoxo

  • I've waited a long time to see these epis of MTM on You Tube. Now her talents can be readily showcased for all to see as well as the other talented actors/actresses in the cast of this phenomenal show. This is long overdue. Thanks very much. Hope more will be uploaded in the future. Everyone should be able to see this CLASSIC!

  • Great episode, Especially the part where the preacher delivers the eulogy!:)

  • omg Betty eveen mentions Robert Redford in here! In every interview she does, she always mentions him as being the only thing she hasn't done yet hahaha

  • ROFL. XD

The funeral scene is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I love MTM.

  • @hb818283 I agree:)

  • @hb818283 yea, the funeral scene is extremely funny. it's even funnier if someone sees the previous scenes where mary gets so upset by the fact that the other characters are giggling about chuckles. mary was taking everything so seriously until the moment where she needed to be serious.

  • @hb818283 Between the first time I watched this episode of MTM and Powerthirst I don't think I ever LOL'd so hard in my life. XD

  • I would not be able to stifle myself either

  • This was voted the top sitcom episode of all time a few years back by Entertainment Weekly.

  • @buddy51 it's not that funny tho...

  • @buddy51 It certainly deserved it !! xo

  • the preacher plays Ham Lushbauer, the only man to turn down Blanche Devereaux, on Golden Girls.

  • @IMPei100 i noticed that too!!! good eye

  • "what would you suggest dear, fruit?"

Betty White is amazing and I love her to death...

  • Ted Knight's comment about not dying are kind of ironic since, AFAIK, he was the first member of the MTM cast to pass on in 1986.

  • @fuzzybeard2016 And thus far, the Only...Far too soon, too.

  • @LastNetwork2 Amen.

  • Betty White is so beautiful

  • I want my funeral to be like this....;0) ha!!!

  • A little song, a little dance. A little seltzer down your pants! 8:58

  • One of my top five all-time fave sitcom episodes. Mary usually gets her laughs from reactions to the others' actions. This time, it's all on her, and she delivers in spades. Utterly sublime.
