  • AMD Llano's can cope with high memory speeds too. For the IGU its even more important to have high speed memory as its mainly limited by memory bandwith and not by core speed. The difference between 1333 and 2133 memory is roughly about 50% after overclock of the core with the same speeds of the core. I can understand that the purpose of the videos is to show exotic or the best components but the things spoken should also be accurate.

Thumbs up generally and continue doing what you do. :)

  • 2133 is crap in my opinion... in reality, you don't notice the difference between 1333 and 2133. The benchmarks are just synthetic. So better spend money in good GPU or CPU.

In fact, even DDR2-800 is fast enough for every games. It is just not supported by the newer boards anymore. 5 or 6 Gb/s are pretty much, if like 2GB of the games are loaded in RAM...

  • I ordered my kit from Outlet

PC dot com after watching this video!, I order almost everything that you recommend because your rigs are awesome, and you would not lead an enthusiast astray!

  • Is there a Dual Channel 1.5V version of those for my 2600k ?

  • You are so awesome. You sound awesome, you look awesome and finally you are awesome.

  • Im planning to get a set of Gskills Sniper 8gbs 2133 Dual Channel.

And putting it in a 1155 board that holds Dual channel only. But i hate having left out ram slots so i want another set of the ram. Woold it still run at 2133 for 16gbs and with no problem, you think? Even though its not a quad channel ram.

  • @ClassicTubeTV running 2 sets of dual ram makes it dual dual not quad. Youll have to manually set the ram in your bios and may need to fiddle with voltages a little to get it running sweet but it will work no problem as long as your CPU IMC is strong enough to hold it.

  • Can I put six of these memories on a G1.Assassin X58 board?

  • Tom is using the same exact memory, motherboard, CPU and cpu cooler that I have.

    2133 link

  • intel.com/tuningplan/

Intel offering affordable overclocking insurance .

now let's see when my 3930k throws in the towel.

  • I like men now

  • I think the new ripjaws would look even nicer in your test rig

  • This set of RAM could work with Sandy Bridge, sure, but you should not have it running at 1.65v, you have to take it down to 1.5v.

  • @phoenix7289 you won't get 2133 9-11-10-28 at 1.5

you would need to underclock it. Run it at the rated voltage of 1.65

  • @JedsAdventures I realize that, but for 1155 Sandy Bridge, you should not run 1.65v RAM. That is all I'm saying, I had to underclock my own RAM because if you run 1.65v RAM, it can screw with the CPU and the CPU's memory bus on the 1155 socket. Notice where I said Sandy Bridge and not Sandy Bridge-E....

  • The 2133 kit on aria appears to be 200 quids..

  • @zedalphus and for 40 quid less you'd get the blackline ones with 10-11-10-28 timings... I think I'd prefer those

  • If I were determined to spend some cash then yes I would probably do the same, but im not convinced I would see many more FPS over my 1600 8-8-8-24. Be interesting to know.........

  • @zedalphus I guess you wouldn't get one single fps more over your 1600 ram ;)

  • Hey Tom can you put up a link for the fans you use on the H100? Please and thank you.

  • @Killjoy420 he says it in the h100 review , think they are the new low noise noctua fans if I remember correctly

  • @ulftnightwolf lol thanks I heard what he said I just had no idea how to spell it, cheers.

  • @Killjoy420 lol no prob m8

  • could anybody tell me what's the differnce between corsair lp black and blue heatspreader , same timings , same voltages , same freq. , but every where I look there's a price difference between them ? maybe the ic's used ? or just aesthetics?

  • @ulftnightwolf its just ram.. :/

  • @McManus667 I know but if they can fiddle about having a black pcb on the ever so great mushkin , I thought ....:-)

no, really trust me when I say it 's not " just ram" if ur overclocking .

and I've found my answer , it was on the oc3d website all along , a review by tom logan(ttl) never the less , it appears he gave the 1.35 volts white ones a solid gold . ttl's word , my trust. The chap has never let me down before , so...

  • I wish they made these with a black PCB :/

  • 5:28 did he say innuendo or in your window lol

  • Lol a fast look from 19 minutes.

  • Tom... I'm confused. Quad channel vs dual dual channel?

People are telling me that 2 x dual channel kits will work just fine, also saving you a few quid...

    Any help plz?

  • @o3ville1 dual or quad simply dictates what "mode" your memory controller is running in, and how you plug in your memory (you have to make sure you're plugging the modules in the right slots), it is always recommended to have identical modules when running in multiple channels, so as long as you have identical modules, two sets of dual channel memory would work just fine.

  • @alex801848 I knew all the modules had to be the same, but the memory "mode" makes sense... surely there would be a performance gain by going into quad channel mode?? those quad kits are very expensive compared to the same Gb worth in dual channel?? (hint hint Tom - Comparison vid :D)

  • I have a Rampage II setup :'( I feel outdated

  • @knockdoun

Me to: Rampage 2 Extreme, first generation Core i7. Still run every game at max.. (yes including Battlefield 3, apart from one or two settings). So why upgrade?

  • here's a clever idea. screen shot each test and simply open the screen shots. save's you editing time and a direct comparison on youtube of the result which will still end up in similar fashion on the site. so its just an idea. the ram is good but ram isn't my bother in my pc

  • @club4ghz , naa buddy you miss understood me , I'm not building a X58 I7 980 , I already have one ... And currently have GSkill Sniper mem , @1614 MHz .. And my CPU is at 4.2 Ghz .. So what I was wondering was if I can use that Mushkin set in my X58 so I can set @ 2133 MHz .. But said you can use it in the older sandy. Bridge ,, but I'm not sure about X58 ....

  • Almost like a Dominator clone xd

  • Some great rigs there will be watching the build see how it goes would love to build one myself, any way thanks for the chance of thses 3 fantastic prizes.

  • *sees Redline Ridgeback*

    *dances*

  • Ah damn i just bought gskill sniper ram@ 2133 oh well

  • it looks the gonads? 14:16

  • @ole720

Yeah, wtf did he mean by that? It looks like balls?

    Maybe it's an English thing.

  • Is it significantly shorter than the Corsair Blue vengeance ram. The kind with the tall heatsink.

  • the conclusion starts at 13:37

  • Meh I prefer Kingston and Corsair for my RAM.

  • the link in the description is for the wrong kit, it's a link for a 1866 kit.

  • @sgxdclan mushkin, com /Memory/Quad-Kits/993997

  • Man if this had black pcbs.. I know it's not much but ehhh, it's just that last part they have to get down. Btw, would quad channel memory run in a dual channel system? I'm running Z68 at the moment. I hear people saying a lot of different things so it would be nice to get a clear answer from someone you can trust. :)

  • @Terinigan oh, someone you know you can trust... well I guess I won't answer this then.

  • @Terinigan you wont actually see that green once they're in.

  • @integratable Did you not watch the video? ;) As I said it's the last touch of finish, there's no way you'll notice it when it's in the final build but I'll know it's there, that's enough for me. But I'll stick with Corsair RAM for my builds as well, their customer service is down right amazing.

  • @Terinigan yes, yes you can... i watched it in the video. I thought that was the case but waited for confirmation.

  • That ram has some sexy heat spreaders.

  • Here in America we call that V shape "Chevrons".Kinda like the stripes on a military uniform.

They look really good on the board..

  • @gimiesome i'm pretty sure all the latin based languages use the word chevrons

  • @IsaacDeanMusic Thanks

  • right then peeps

love the videos TTL, keep em coming!

  • green pcb :P´´

  • What a relief hearing you catching yourself saying 'actually' allot, in contrast to that Asus ROG guy (Raja?) that can't stop saying it and ignores the comments.

  • looks awsome i just came

  • when and where can I aquire this computer magic?!?!?!?

  • Hey Tom how about X58 ? I7 980 can we use this ?

  • @PhatboyHD88 why not if you looking for somethink outdated

  • Ram is so cheap.

  • @nobodypersonsomeone Not 8GB dims or 1866 mhz laptop memories.

  • @ASDfasdfasdfful 8GB dims are almost worthless. So few people need them.

  • @Roland0314 But I need 64GB RAM! :^)

  • @jonnyj0987654321 wy ?? you don't need more than 24gig and you only get that full while rendering shitloads of d3 art at the same time

  • @TheSteelMe Data mining.

  • work on X58?

  • @Blackcupra43 should work, yeah.

  • Great review as always, Tom!

  • How come only one 7970? Oh wait AMD drivers suck, I forgot

  • @LShiznit The f*ck man? Did you not see Tom's review of 4 7970s? Their scaling was great... Stupid fanboys.

  • @LShiznit Because One AMD card Beats your mum at everything twat faced fan boy

  • @LShiznit Haha, I hope your just trolling and not that stupid.

  • Quad channel for quad damage.

  • @TearsOfWar1 lol Quake

  • having 4 red ram sticks and 4 black ram sticks, OMG OMG OMG!!!!

It would be so awesome :)

  • [18208 Read] - [14820 Write] - [20586 Copy] - [45 ns latency]

    from my Tri-Dominator DDR3 - 2000 Running @ 1600MHz 7-7-7-20.

I guess im quite happy for the time being :D

  • @b0ss6769 Voltage?

  • @jh3496 1.53Volt. i7 930 @ 4GHz

  • Lol, breathing! Really!! are you an alien with super power hearing. Guess he should hold his breath while doing review.

  • I've had issues with memory overheating for a while, but only when the sticks are right net to eachother without a slot gap between both using Kingston Value DDR2 (no heat spreaders) and Corsair XMS2 (with heatspreaders).

Definately the memory overheating that caused my crashes are the RAM'S very hot to the touch and crashes stop when not butted against eachother.

Hence, I won't fill all mem slots now unless there's built in spacing.

  • TT do we really get that much more performance for these top speed ram kits? Would the money be better spent somewhere else?

    Good job as always.

  • @1timby If you're gaming yeah you should always prioritize 1.GPU 2.CPU 3.RAM

But there are so many things you can do with a PC, someone who edits a lot of stuff would probably go 1. CPU 2.RAM 3.GPU

Someone who is going to be overclocking also needs a good Motherboard etc.

  • why don't you fart to drown out the "breathing" you hear kah710710

  • I like Mushkin but its a bit of a challenge get in the US.

  • @Shaniirne Newegg.com

  • @Shaniirne 190 on newegg :D

  • mushkins RMA is awesome......my psu blew and got a new one within a week or so, no questions asked....told em it blew and they gave me an RMA number

  • 6:51 9-11 you a part of the illuminati tom? xD

  • "And then for the 1024 million we have a total score of 125.776 seconds" Screen shows 125.766 :L

  • @unknown1454 Stop the presses

  • I hate how i hear you breathing in all of your vids

    try no avoid that shit

  • @kah710710 DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERP

  • @kah710710

I hate how people like you bitch about trivial things.

  • @kah710710 Although I would normally agree with something like this to an extent(I wouldn't bitch about it like this) I have never noticed breathing in the videos and I am by no means viewing with my speakers/headphones on low volume.

  • @kah710710 wow... such an inconvience for you, damn, i would be sad also... If anyone else even gave a shit

  • Any chance of black ridgebacks in the future? Or even those sexy white ones? Red wouldn't look right in my rig at all.

  • Comes with a new git? I want one!

  • tumtumtetum

  • Can someone explain latency's to me and how they work or link me to something

  • Wahh

  • can i have the set? :D

  • Ridge... ridgebacks!?

  • yes first viwer and first comment.

  • @humanitysonlyhope

    Cool Story Bro.
