Stalin may have been a paranoid tyrant but you're right, we don't hear about bad yields and natural disasters in the west, just like we don't hear about how blockades and embargoes hurt economies, or how military built ups on the border of a country forces it to maintain a ready military force.
Take North Korea for example, Lil Kim may be an incompetent narcissist but embargo and military pressure is what's hurting the NK economy, they're blocked from trade and kept on high alert.
My main critique is on the style and delivery. If the video looked better and the facts and analysis could be delivered in a more appealing fashion rather than the monotonous voice, I believe it can be more convincing and have a higher impact.
I'm sure there are talented comrades that have an artistic knack and can help put forward your amazing research.
1 thumbs up way high for this video, but I think it could be better.
What sort of role did the collectivization play in the larger Russian famine?
Also, I've heard that many thousands of people were killed by the Soviets in the years before World War II, in accordance to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact; more lies?
Those must be lies because I don't ever recall genocide being part of the MR Pact. I know the USSR agreed to divide up Poland with the Nazis in order to make sure Hitler didn't take all of Poland and to create a buffer between Germany and the USSR. The collectivization ended the famine. It was sabotage against it that caused the famine.
@RedNickII I didn't say genocide, I meant executions. Supposedly, tens of thousands of people were executed by the Soviets when they invaded Poland. Probably lies.
By the way, what do you know about the annexation of Georgia in 1923?
You know, I heard captured Polish troops were executed. But that has more to do with Stalin being worried that they'd be incorporated into a pro-Nazi army if Hitler were to push further East. I don't know anything about Georgia.
@RedNickII Interesting point. But, back to the collectivization, would you say it anything to do with CAUSING the Russian famines, as many say it did?
Exactly what famine are you talking about? Can you give me dates? Collectivization stopped the famine in Ukraine. There was a famine in Russia before Stalin took over, but nobody claimed genocide for that. It was from the war and nature.
@RedNickII The Soviet Famine of 1932-1933, outside Ukraine. Did the collectivization have anything to do with causing that famine? Or have you already done a video about that?
I'm sorry, but I've never heard of that. The collectivization probably played a role in ending that as well. More than Ukraine was collectivized around those years.
@RedNickII Hm. Well, thanks for the info. By the way, if you're looking for further information, I recommend you look at the Stalin Society's website (if you haven't already). They have a wealth of information concerning Stalin and the lies told about him (including the Holdomor).
