  • The question of airliner or cruse missile isn't relevant when looking at the entirety of the 9/11 event. There are too many other questions regarding the attacks that in themselves cast (at least) doubt on the 'official' story.

    Where did all the fuel go?

    Shouldn't the grass around the impact site have been charred? Why are there so many combustibles in the exposed interiors that are untouched by fire?

    Why do we have two camera shots of the impact, where are the rest?

  • @EdgemanLL2 just thought i'd help you out here, an aircraft in a perfectly co-ordinated turn with no slip or skid will pull 2g with only a 30 degree bank angle. Modern commercial aircraft usually have bank angle limit selectors on the mode control panel, a B737 has selected limits of up to 30deg, so the 2g limit my friend is mainly for the benefit of passenger comfort or at least that is what I was taught on my type course

The entry hole was 75 feet wide, not 12 feet or whatever he said. The 12 foot wide hole was an EXIT hole deep in the pentagon caused by the landing gear. A common system called Stab Trim or Stabiliser Trim is used to correct imbalances in aircraft pitch, usually to counteract imbalances caused by moderate passenger and fuel movement, 100 passengers being at the back of the aircraft will make it well out of balance and hard to fly even with stab trim

So try and concentrate on the core of my point and not so much on if there was 90 or 110 passengers.     Further, a plane that was built (boeing specs) to carry close to 300 people, with full cargo, full fuel load, on 3000+ mile transcons will not go a-stabile with less than 100 pax, moved to the rear seats.

I do know what Stab Trim is, it is used for fuel efficiency, a disturbance in pitch caused by physical weight imbalances and shift of CofG will require elevator input to keep the aircraft at the nominal pitch, too prolonged elevator deflection causes drag and so the horizontal stab is re-aligned with the elevator. So if you're in the know what do you do for a living, just curious.

    Good guess, but wrong. Trim tabs dont do anything to reduce stab deflection. It simply causes the Elevator to deflect to a specified degree automatically. Moving your CG further back will reduce your fuel consumption. But the further back you move your CG the more likely you are to reduce Tail Authority and go A-Stabile.

    Would you like another try at finding out what trim tabs do on your own? Or would you like to just be educated now?

  • @EdgemanLL2 Stab Trim is primarily a function to achieve better fuel consumption it moves the stabiliser (that's the big bit to you) so that is fairs (that means realigns with to you) the elevators. Fuck you are stupid for a planespotting airfix builder. Stab trim is controlled manually by a flywheel, electrically by a thumb switch on the control wheel or by the FCC (that means Flight Control Computer) Autopilot function. The Stab Trim also moves by the A/P for Speed Trim function

    No one disputes that weight and balance is an issue in flight. But its nothing to do with the trim tab. Further, as explained earlier, Compared to the capacity of the airplane, shoving 50-60 passengers aft of the CG limit isnt nearly enough to exceed the aft CG limit.

    BTW, trim tabs is the name of the actual, mechanical piece of the plane that provides stab trim. so yes, they are related. More specifically (if you want to be technical) there can be trim tabs affecting all 3 axis.

I never sat at ADV on its ass, but when fuel is in the wing tanks you can only take the aircraft's wings back so much. It should be done with wings empty and a tail tressle is common use. Tomcat was a fine aircraft, Tornado was a jack of all trades master of none, sadly....another government funded compromise but thats another story

  • @EdgemanLL2 Stab Trim is a function of the autopilot in modern large commercial aircraft Flight Control Computers. Stab Trim is NOT a mechanical component it is a function used by the autopilot. The Stab Trim "moves" the horizontal stabiliser (that's the big horizontal piece of airframe in front of the elevators) it does this to improve fuel efficiency and for Speed trim and Mach Trim (you know what Mach Trim is right? ...yeah well I can explain that too if you like?)
