@FiredEmpire Thanks alot............very very kind of you. Asked just the usual, how to say 'Hello, how are you', stuff like that. Not bad stuff, im English...not Turkish.
Why learn to speak Japanese? When japan sinks most of them will come here. And they will have to learn to speak English. Oh wait , no one has to do that anymore. Imigrants dont have to learn to speak English like the French and the Germans and the Italians and others did when thay came to this country. Would someone please pas the tacos.
For me its easyer to learn because in estonia we pronounce some stuff similarly tho the language is totally different (for english people its hard to learn estonian i think)

WOW weird but all the words that are here I have read them like i would read them in my own language which Rumanian and i actually got them right without hearing the audio cues.
what's the difference between "domo" and "arigatou"?(dad has worked with 3 japanese companies. and been to japan 3 times. so, I picked up a few words)
@wheeler1 arigatou is "thank you",when ad the "domo" part in front "arigatou" (domo arigatou) you obtain "thank you very much" so domo is pretty much a way to show respect to someone who it helped you at something.(At least from what i know)
i think it gets better than before but has some needless particles
if i corrected it with the order of the sentence kept,it would be as the following :
僕は何でも人生で習ったこと"は"大切だと信じます。
it seems that u r not so good at using particles
"何でも" and "何事も" have almost the same meaning,they r different in formality,that is,the former is informal like conversations with a friend and the latter is formal like official documents or quotations
@FloatOnTheWater no, its just i used も in place of はis because my original English meaning of the sentence is "i believe anything learned in life is ALSO important" (note the capital word) since sometimes も can replace other particles right?
@FloatOnTheWater also, i have more question(s) if you don't mind. when you said
[T : 人生"で"学んだこと
F : 人生"に"学んだこと
if u use "に" in this context,it does not mean "anything learned in life" but just like "anything taught by life"]
isn't "teach" in Japanese is 教える? if that is the case, and 学ぶ is to learn, how come "人生に学んだこと" means "anything TAUGHT in life"? im kinda confused on that part.
thats cause the case maker "に" alludes a passive agent here,such usages of "に" r like the following sentences :
この前友達"に"蹴りを入れられた。
=I was kicked BY a friend the other day.
最近飼ってる猫に無視されるんだ。
=I am neglected BY my cat these days.
then "人生に学んだあらゆること(sorry i forgot translating ANYthing into Japanese)" is accordingly translated into "anything taught by life" and its meaning is the same as "anything taught in life"
@FloatOnTheWater so basically, if you use the に as a passive source target, the verb followed by it is most likely a potential conjugation verb? example: 食べる becomes 食べられる?
the verb learn is not proper in this sentence cause,if i used it it would be "anything leaned by life" and the meaning of the sentence would be different,that is,the relationship between the subject and the object would be the reverse
hence i decided to use "teach" instead of "learn" and "人生に学んだこと" became "anything TAUGHT in life"
@FloatOnTheWater the sentence "僕は何事もが生命に習ったも大切に信じます" was suppose to be "i believe anything learned in life is (also) important", i guess, that didnt come out right.
@friendlyschizo I had almost the same exact idea! Once i'm old enough, if I know enough Japanese, I'm going to move to Japan and live there for a day or two just to see how it goes then if all goes fine, I'll stay there for quite a few years, maybe a decade even. :3
I need help translating this: "kyou mo itiniti iihi de sugosite kudasai." All i can understand is kudasai but everything else is a mystery. It be much appreciated if anyone can help me a.s.a.p. thanks in advance.
@SuperMetroid4567 I would write it "kyou mo ichinichi ii hi de sugoshite kudasai." (there isn't a real standard in romaji--Japanese tend to write like you wrote it) It means something like, "Today also, Have a good day."
@thejapanshop ummmm i need more help...... sorry if its any trouble. but could u tell me what " yoko wakaranai doiuokoto" and " kangaeru anime desuyone?" much appreciated.
@thejapanshop Romaji is easier than Hiranga, well for me it is. I grew up speaking japanese now I'm speaking english and german, french, korean, ah man I know a whole bunch of languages. :S

my steps to learn japanese is knows the basic kana like hiragana and katakana (know some kanji will also helps).
know what is the arrangement of verb, adjective or something like that in japanese sentence. recognize all the paricles, memorize some japansese words and the most important is to do a lot of self-practice.

@blaby4ever It really isn't silent. To the Japanese ear, it is always there. In some cases (in songs and overly polite language), the "u" is clear as in words such as "deSU" and "gozaimaSU." But in casual or normal speech, it at least sounds like it is silent even though the speaker has the "u" in mind.
ありがとーございます!! All of these phrases are commonly use in Japanese anime...now I understand about the word and how they are place in a sentence...now I need is more word like nouns, verbs, and adjective.
@thirdee31612 it's there, but native japanese don't usually pronounce it, especially when its at the end of a word. like desu sounds like des, tabemasu sounds like tabemas, so on

The practical Japanese language is different from Japanese language of the textbook (schoolbook).
Japanese people often omits the subject word, So foreigners often mistranslate.
For example, there are many translators who can't distinguish " I " and "YOU" correctly.
Furthermore, in Japanese, an object word is also often omitted.
If you hope to master Japanese, you need the understanding for discovering "the omitted words."

the particle "に" means the existence of something
for an instance,
My father is staying in Chonqing for business.
=私の父は仕事で重慶"に"居ます。
but u said "anything learned in life" right?
in such a case,the particle "で" is proper
T : 人生"で"学んだこと
F : 人生"に"学んだこと
if u use "に" in this context,it does not mean "anything learned in life" but just like "anything taught by life"
FloatOnTheWater 1 month ago
@FloatOnTheWater ah i see, that clarifies it. thankyou!!

FloatOnTheWater 1 month ago
@FloatOnTheWater so basically if i were to correct my last sentence, it would be something like ""僕は何でもが人生で習った事も大切と信じます"
does 何でも or 何事も works better (i found 何事も in a online dictionary)? also, can 生命 replace 人生 in this context?
thankyou!
GenerationDarkness 1 month ago
@GenerationDarkness
i think it gets better than before but has some needless particles
if i corrected it with the order of the sentence kept,it would be as the following :
僕は何でも人生で習ったこと"は"大切だと信じます。

GenerationDarkness 1 month ago
@GenerationDarkness
oops sorry
then "also" can be translated into "も" in Japanese
また、僕は何でも人生で習ったことは大切だと信じます。
the previous sentence is the natural translation
in this case,"also" can certainly become the particle "も",however,"anything" has already been translated into "何でも"
so if u construe ur sentence,it will become like the following :
何でもも人生で習ったことは大切だと信じます。
but this sentence is unnatural
then,recall that "also" is parallel,so it can be "また"
FloatOnTheWater 1 month ago
@FloatOnTheWater for example "i want coffee too" can be written as 私もコーヒーです” which can also mean "i'm also coffee". am i right?
GenerationDarkness 1 month ago
@GenerationDarkness
yes it is correct to a certain extent
but "i'm coffee too." is not correct
the sentence "私もコーヒーです。" omits its verb "欲しい",that is,the exact from is :
私もコーヒーが欲しいです。
but Japanese doesn't like repeating the same verb like other languages thereby the speaker omits the verb "欲しい"
FloatOnTheWater 1 month ago
@FloatOnTheWater
* the exact FORM is
FloatOnTheWater 1 month ago
@FloatOnTheWater i see i see. that makes more sense.
GenerationDarkness 1 month ago
@GenerationDarkness
and speaking about the word life,u know the meaning of it here is one's life
but the term "生命",which u used,is usually used as the following :
獣医師は重傷のカワウソの生命を救った。
= The veterinary saved the life of an otter injured deeply.
hence u should use "人生",it is natural

Good thing for me to learn Japanese is I am a Chinese! The kanji of Japanese is almost the same of Chinese!
kennylau2010 4 months ago
my steps to learn japanese is knows the basic kana like hiragana and katakana (know some kanji will also helps).
know what is the arrangement of verb, adjective or something like that in japanese sentence. recognize all the paricles, memorize some japansese words and the most important is to do a lot of self-practice.

the "u" is silent right because thats what i always hear in this video most of the time
and in anime such as itadakimau if im spelling it right. the "u" is silent. same as arigatou
blaby4ever 5 months ago
@blaby4ever It really isn't silent. To the Japanese ear, it is always there. In some cases (in songs and overly polite language), the "u" is clear as in words such as "deSU" and "gozaimaSU." But in casual or normal speech, it at least sounds like it is silent even though the speaker has the "u" in mind.

Why does the monologue doesnt pronounce the "u" sound in some Japanese words?
thirdee31612 6 months ago
@thirdee31612 it's there, but native japanese don't usually pronounce it, especially when its at the end of a word. like desu sounds like des, tabemasu sounds like tabemas, so on
