Back to back, Beyonce does not have the same depth in her vocals that Etta James had. She doesnt have the same range, and no soul in her tone. This would be good on, say American Idol or something, but lacks the soul of the origional. There are some people who just cant be recreated.

Now realise, this very same woman is also a precise dancer if she has to be & a energetic performer on stage - always. Realise she's beautiful without make-up and a designer dress. Realise, she's portraying just a pop-icon. Realise, she's never been in a media-scandal. Realise she's talented. Now come back to any other artist nowadays!

She is definetely an actress. Etta James did apologize after dissing B but you have to forgive Ms. James, she realizes how drugs ruined her life and how great she was by seeing B portrait her. She also has Alzheimers disease and says the things she said were because of the dementia that is part of the disease. Not just hater-ade. President Obama should have had Ms. James do her song for the inauguration or maybe even a duet with B but she felt slighted and rightfully so. But B did murder this.

Ok we can officially call her an Actress.As a beyonce SUPERFAN i never really liked her acting in Carmen and etc.Dreamgirls was ok to me,but the story was mainly about Effie anyway.But now?WOW where did she have to go mentally to play a bad ass like Etta?I hope she does more dramatic roles like this one

Beyonce is an extremely talented artist. She has the potential for true greatness, to become one for the ages. Powerful voice, passion, attitude, and presence. She is a natural beauty in an age of virtuality and synthetic reality. She responded with grace and class when Etta James made some unflattering comments about her treatment of At Last. Thus, it pains me to observe that Beyonce appears more interested in being a brand/product than actually making music of enduring substance.

I have got GOOSEBUMPS !!! I have never even seen this movie yet but I ADORE ETTA JAMES however, BEYONCE' NAILED IT !!! I have a new found respect for her...I don't really like her repetitive machine operated stuff. This SHOWS her NATURAL TALENT. I can NOT BELIEVE she did NOT get AWARDS for songs PERFORMED in this FILM.

We cannot dispute that Etta James had a voice of her era and it was insapassable. But, I will give Beyonce her due because she has sung this song extremely well and has kept within the style of Etta James. She did a good job on this song.
