  • LOL the Ivan Ackerman scene is fucking hillarious!!

  • ...I'm into Leather...

  • "tell the folks where you are today Donald"

  • He's the best, he's a genius. his quotes are wonderfull. Ah! Allan Stewart Konigsberg, the most peculiar man in the universe.

"Really, i prefer the science to the religion if they give me to choose between God and the air conditioning, I remain with the air "

    I love you Woody.

  • I respect him and his art, though.

  • Woody read a book about being as Jewish as possible and then he decided to act like that.

I know that he is Jewish but so is Jon Stewart. And so was Burt Lancaster and Leslie Howard ect.

  • Bynkers83: Blahblah Blah Blah... and your point is?

  • You should write som more I am actually quite interested in your criticism.

  • @Bynkers83 i agree w original reply, wt sur point. plus jon stewart acts v jewish, apart from being incredibly unfunny

  • All I'm saying is that Woody acts like a stereotype.

  • @Bynkers83 hes a walking nuerotic nebbish insecure self hating jew

hes also a genius i love woody leave him alone

  • @archiebunkerville Actually, the Woody Allen in his films is a character. The real Woody Allen is completely different to the personalities he portrays.

  • @cactaceous lol do you know him mr new york the thing is he plays that charactor in EVERY movie

you dont think that might be the real him or the inner him?

that nuerotic little insecure boy with the red hair on the psyciatrists couch?

    so whats he REALLY like?

  • @archiebunkerville I used to agree with you, but I listened to an interview with him on Whatever Works and he said "I tend to play neurotic personalities but in reality I'm quite the opposite. I do believe that life is full of misery, but I don't dwell on it and in a way, channel my bottled up feelings into my characters."

  • i understand woody

    his fictional fabrication

    this charactor he created

    its me

    he created me

  • I remember watching this interview.

  • Well good for you I guess.

  • @Bynkers83 use some logic

one the man does the charactor for a reason, people find it amusing

    and often stereotypes are accurate

i've known a millon people like woody

woodys jewish i guesse its okay to stereotype yoruself for money

its not like some white guy in black face

    woody is a real jew

second that has to be part of him or he would not repeat the role over and over

i mean he a horn dog and he does have an analyst

  • No, it can only really be said about a persona which has been so influential that it changes the way people define things. I am suggesting that woody allen, for a postion of the population, defined what "jewishness" is and that, when accusing him of conforming to a stereotype, it is worth considering how you came about your definition of that sterotype and if Woody himself had a hand in it.

  • @dappercad its a bit of chicken and egg

  • Do you think it's possible that how you define being jewish is a result of how woody allen behaved on screen, rather than how woody allen behaved on screen was a result of how he defines being jewish?

  • Woody Allen is not the only nor the first to portray Jews.

Anyway, no white man ( or black man ) would get away with acting like that in a movie, if they had to portray jews. People would shout stereotype and call the movie shallow or even racist.

    Cheers!

  • I didn't argue he was the first, I argued he was influential. What "jewish" things does Woody Allen do which would be called racist if done by a Gentile?

  • @dappercad sure it is. it can be said about any media or persona

  • two girls in a week? he'd be sued for sexual harassment today..

  • " enjoy ourselves while we're here."

    brilliant!

  • i think she's in the last scene in front of the movie theater.

  • S. Weaver is in this movie where is she?

  • "I'm standing with cast of The Godfather" I love how he says it TO Diane Keaton who actually WAS in The Godfather. Amazing.

  • @robbtheruler

I believe those two guys were in the godfather as well

  • Some people sleep better when an 76year old jew goes to the dogs in an US jail.

  • yes he is the woody the

  • Still obsessed with pedophiles.

  • yeah I want them all executed you moron

  • He talks too much...!!!

  • one of my favs love diane keaton

  • Wrong, realisticHomeboy! Quentin Tarantino talks like Woody Allen!

  • RIP Astroland!

  • He talks just like Quentin Tarantino, and has a similar voice.

  • Why does he say "dya wanna get coffee for two hours" then ask if they wanna see a four hour film?

  • woody allen is one the best ever!!!

  • when i was a kid i cried tears of joy at this movie finally realizing there was one person on this planet more neurotic than i am

  • haha.... pft shit. I watched the movie and thought "shit, that's me". That makes two then dude. You must be very happy.

  • does anyone know how i can find the scene of alvy and robin in bed, where she wants to take a valium?

  • "I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member."

    lol :)

  • I know that Woody Allen appeared on the Dick Cavett Show many times, but is the scene at 5:15 an actual appearance, or was it staged for the film? Anyone know?

  • no it was an actual appearence, apparently dick cavett was pretty surprised to see himself in the film

  • THANKYOU FOR UR MOVIES.

  • i also suffer from alvies movie start to finish fixation. if i miss any of a film it then becomes not worth watching...

  • I used to have that problem, but now all movies are not worth watching, so actually coming in 5 minutes late means five minutes less shit to sit through.

  • ugh the doc is such a creep!

  • "I MUST see a movie from START to FINISH 'cause I'm anal !"... Fantastic line... Woody I love you.

  • "The universe is expanding. What's the point?" LOL!

  • when iwas a kid i was just like that

when i finally saw a woody allen movie i almost cried

    i remember thinking my god

    some one else understands

  • at 8:26, he says he's with the cast of the godfather

    Wasn't she in the godfather?

  • Yes, as Michael's WASPy girlfriend and later wife.

  • @jwcardoza yes she played Kay Adams, Michael Corleone's wife

  • is it weird that i don't think it's weird that you think woody allen was kind of hot?

  • Will anyone think i'm weird if I said Woody Allen was kind of hot back then? You know in a nerdy way.

  • agreed.

  • I'll think you're a person of intellectual substance who disdains superficiality.

    And then, I'll congratulate you!

  • Thank you.

  • I thought I was the only one! (Although, as a hetero male I would characterize it more as a "man-crush".)

  • Oh absolutely! Lol

  • Tottaly

I Mean His Cute, Not Your Weird

  • Not weird. lol

  • the sure fire way to get a woman into bed is to make her laugh

  • angelic

  • Thank You for Annie Hall I love Chris Walken and this movie !!! :)

  • woody allen is like a frickin genius.

    such cleverness isnt usual

  • PS 40 kids! Remember in the early 1970's when we were in grade 3? Casting directors came around looking for the homeliest kids to play Woody's classmates!!!

  • A right turn on a Red light!!!!!

Freuds Wit and it's relatipn the unconscience.

  • at 8.46 what Ingmar Bergman film is on the poster in the back. he 'quotes' him in some other films as well

  • at 8:46 I read "Face to Face" ("Ansikte mot ansikte"). The release date matches too: 1976.

  • thanks very much

  • Thanks for uploading! I've never seen this before but already at 5:25 it looks great. :D

That scene on the blackboard where it said Dec. 1, that 's woody allen's birthday. Just a little tidbit of info there. :p

  • 8:43 is that chick naked?

  • fellas what is this a meeting of the teamsters?.. im standing with the cast of the godfather.

    hahahahaaaha

  • "I'm dealing with two guys named Cheech!"

  • Thanks!

  • "We've got to try to enjoy ourselves while we're here." That is SO true

  • Great... but i think it deviates slightly from my dvd of the film.

  • Thank you for uploading this!

  • what is "i'm into leather?"

  • She's a dominatrix...

  • meaning what? sorry i am no native english speaker... is it a sex related thing?

  • she dresses in black leather and whips people with a whip during sex~!

  • oh my...

  • Google it

  • I've always wanted to watch this... thanks so much for uploading!

  • Great Movie.

  • What a brilliant film. One of the few films to win the Best Picture Oscar that deserved it.

  • DICK CAVETT!!!

  • smart movie

  • Brilliant opening. My first Woody Allen movie and still my favorite. classic.

  • what does neurotic mean? excuse my dumbness by the way

  • like paranoid. it's like your always nuts and upset about something and sorta whining almost. basically what woody allen is in this movie

  • Neurosis was a term used in Freudian psychology (from Sigmund Freud, the father of psychiatry). It meant having symptoms like depression, hypochondria (thinking you're ill when you're not), insecurity, anxiety and/or phobias (irrational fears). The term is no longer used in a scientific way but some people still use the word to mean being generally nervous.

Not trying to be mean but try looking things up when you don't know. There's so much on the 'net.

  • "Those who can't teach teach gym"

"In 1942 I had already discovered women"

"I used to be a heroin addict" from a six year old boy... LOL!

  • the line about the teachers and gym really refers to my school.

  • I'm into leather.

  • "I'm standing with the cast of The Godfather."

  • i love that doctor flicker is smoking a cigerette

  • Used to be normal!

As late as the mid 70s in England, you could even smoke in hospitals. Patients had an ashtray next to the bed.

  • i never realized i was neurotic until i saw this movie.

  • everyone is neurotic

  • lol seriously

  • My favorite woody allen film.

  • Did JEW eat?! Did JEW?!

  • Oh look. Tall annoyed red-haired WASP at an indie movie theater with a short neurotic Jew.

It's weird seeing high school romance flash across the screen.

  • one of my favorite movies of all time--classic.

  • and brooklyn is not expanding!

  • YAY! OMG I forgot my Annie Hall DVD at home and I miss it sooo much, thanks a lot <333333

  • it also beat out The Goodbye Girl, another"romantic comedy".

  • This film won Film of the Year. You know what it beat in doing so? Star Wars.

    Doesn't that sound unbelievable now?

  • ha omg yeah it does, i didnt know it beat out star wars

  • No, this was an awesome, popular movie then and now.

  • Indeed it is. But Star Wars is one of those titans that seems unbeatable, especially by a simple gem like this film.

  • One of my favorite movies; a timeless classic. Woody Allen is brilliant. Enjoy!

  • this is a great movie

  • Wonderful, many thanks. I'm the same about even missing the opening credits when late for a film

  • thats funny how he says that he was standing with the cast of the godfather and diane keaton played in the godfather.

  • Get over star wars. it was good but people act like it is the only film worth discussing.
