  • Hey im considering getting the Vox VT30 amp im just wondering it still sounds good with the EMG's? my guitar has an 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck

  • @leemster The vox sounds great with them man.

  • @leemster being that it's a solid state amp, you're not going to notice a large difference between pickups. If you want your EMGs to really shine, go with a tube amp.

  • @theunforgiven68 The Vox is a valve amp. Which is close to a tube. And I also think that you should go with a tube amp. But my amp was 600 just for the head so you have to drop a lot to get a big one.

  • @StandardManCovers yeah i'm aware what a valve amp is. it's still not a tube. but i was just saying if you like the difference between pickups, go with a tube. personally, i would never suggest a tube amp for anyone who was looking for a good metal tone with active EMGs (not saying you are, just making an example) because a majority of tube amps are made for classic sound. Mesa/Boogie is a great metal tube amp brand, but they're 2500 dollars. Solid State is the way to go.

  • @StandardManCovers and no, the vox isn't a valve amp, it's a modeling amp, meaning solid state. It's made to "model" the sound of a valve amp.

  • @theunforgiven68 Yes its a modeling amp, but it runs on valves.

  • is this Star Wars Kid?
