i got my D925 oc'd to 4.5ghz with the stock cooler.. And not evne with the bios, because i don't have any oc options in my shitty bios(i'm talking about my old pc)
because its netburst technology, not conroe and newer. core 2 duo is more sensitive and max VID is 1.55 vcore. pentium's can be over votled way more and not die. i had a core 2 duo e6600 overclocked from 2.4ghz-3.65ghz for 2 years with a 1.55 vcore, on air, with THAT exact heatsink.
I was able to get up to 4.37 GHz on a Celeron D with the stock hardware I had, but I'm not really bragging about it. Besides, I'll be saving up for a Core i5 / i7 gaming PC, I would love that better then "Celery". Nice vid, keep up the good work.
I got my Celeron 3.2 D to 5.14 on 20$ Arctic Cooler ,Open side panel and 20" inch fan blowing on it , It was fast for browsing , I used it for a 2 weeks , I sold my Q6700 , I want to get 9550 ,...Actually GTA4 @ 5.14 with 4890 was playable 25-30 fps , It wasn't smooth though,...
how did u OC it to 4.1 Ghz? i have that exact same CPU since like 2007 and i wanan OC it to at least 4Ghz on the stock cooler cause taking the stock coolers off is a bitch so i've decided to leave it on but HOW DID U OC A pentium D cause i've looked in my bios and there is nothing about OCing!
You can overclock the Pentium D all you want, but the way netburst is setup, increasing the fsb, and frequency of the chip isn't going to give the pentium D that big enough of a boost. It's sad, but true. Netburst was so inefficient, it's not funny.
if so is the pc laying vertical or horizontal, b/c I find it hard to believe that the heatsink of that size would be able to say on if standing vertical, the weight and gravity would pull it down off the cpu.
uhh dude that was for benching purposes... it will probably not go over 4ghz for 24/7 use and i just got my q9450 fixed and this is my main gaming machine now with ocz 2 2gb stix, 4gb 1ghz ram 5-5-5-12 timings thermaltake armor case, corsair hx620 620watt modular psu, gigabyte p35c-ds3r mobo, 8800 gtx OCd from 575 core, 1350 shader, 1800 mem to 650 core 1600 shader and 2000 mem, logitech 5.1 surround, logitech g15 keyboard, logitech g9
yeah you saw it.... my cpu heatsink isnt clamped. i lost my brackets for my gigabyte 3d rocket cooler. it is held down with only OCZ freeze 7 compound and the weight of the cpu cooler =P. i challenge anyone to get a higher OC with a heatsink held by nothing but gravity... btw i have proof in the vid its not clamped. you will see me pull it right off with no retention mechanism in place. if anyone here can beat this, then i aplaud you, if not... you are not worthy!!!!!!

doct0rthrill 1 year ago
PSP is originally running at 222MHz. Someone oc it to 466MHz.
EEE PC 701's CPU was running at 630MHz. Someone oc it to 1.17GHz
both without any extra hardware and each with one free software that you can find on web

@mmike422
corssair hx1000 rated @ 1000 watts by corsair's vigorous testing but its pretty much the same as a thermaltake toughpower 1200 watt psu.

@autofusionX Those things clock pretty well because lots of them had crazy high multipliers and low bus speeds. I've hit 5.4 on one before XD

That's because the cooler is heavy as hell lol. You get a cooler like a Vendetta or Rifle on it, it won't do anything.

Nice overclock but no way it is stable and not overheating at 1.7+v and air cooling. If it is it wont last more then 6-12 months 24/7 usage.
