damn i feel like a real loser right now, been drawing since i was 11 (mostly manga like characters) and despite not having taken any serious art classes i draw farely well but ive always had trouble drawing complex things like cars, hell i can barely even draw shoes right, on top of that every drawing i make is in the same fucking stance with the character staring in the same place as the last, anyway thanks for the video really helpful

Is that true? Dont most draw outside the computer then trace it in? Although obviously this guy is uses a tablet for initial sketches. When you say tablet do you mean a screen you draw directly onto or one of the older ones where you draw on a bad in front of you and change happen on your monitor? The latter choice seem a nightmare to me! But I do see the Wacom have a "draw directly onto screen" model. What percentage of that 98% would you say use a each type of tablet?

@jogoeire - The on-the-screen model is the Cintique. Its great, but it's about $1,000. I'm not sure of the figure, but most draw sketches on paper and scan in the sketches and finish the artwork on the computer using a tablet. There are features that allow you to control the tilt of the table, the water on the brush and even the absorption of the paper. Plus, editors and clients prefer the digital file because it is easier to incorporate into a project and also MUCH easier to request revisions.

@TheMrSometimesright yeah you can i wud suggest if that is what u are wanting to do, use a 5.0mm mechanical pencil for the drawing then for the shading use a 7.0mm mechanical pencil and try to use a 70 80 or 90gsm sketching paper since it is much smoother makin easer for detail, and also make sure it said it is acid free becuz when you have finally outlined the paper cud get ruined if it is not acid free. and i say use mechanical pencil that is the most important tool :D and use a gum rubber!!!
