Used to LOVE this show as a kid. Did the da-na-na-na-na-na in the playground at school and everything haha. Saw a rerun not too long a go and it hasn't aged well at all lol. Still, good memories!
One of the most inspiring opening theme songs ever to a sitcom...I wish they would make a long version of this song...it just ends to fast...just when your getting into it, it ends...
when I was a kid my friend and I would go out in the yard after watching this show lifting heavy things and making the bionic sound...ha ha my childhood was so much fun!
what season is this from? im watching season one episodes now and the popular theme doesnt start until the third episode and it doesnt really have anything past the opening drums. i wonder if it gets more elaborate later on this season
This comment only applies to people that were living in 70's Uk really - A comedian once said, "Good job his name was Austin, had it been Leyland he would never have been built".
With reference to the many, many, strikes that blighted england in those days...
Would love to see a re-run of this show again. :-)
I also wanna add that my first injury was a shocker cause i tore my lower disc in my spine lifting something very heavy at age 21 and i was very strong and upset that happened and i ignored it and kept going and now with all the other damage added to it i can no longer stand up straight at age 40 and in pain everyday from it. My advice to you is workout but don't over do it and don't push yourself to the limit like i did and always get someone to help you lift heavy stuff like furniture etc...
I loved this show growing up as a kid and teenager it made me wanna be like the bionic man so much i started to lift weights in 8th grade body building and by the time i was in 11th grade my chest was as big as Arnold in the movie Terminator and i was very strong bench pressing twice my weight. Being that young and strong i thought i was invincible like the bionic man and super man most teenagers think and now at 40 i regret showing off i got a torn disc and 6 bulging discs in my back, knees etc.
I loved this show . I used to dream about becoming bionic. In my adolescent mind, I would fantasize about it. I would have been very disappointed. to have gotten injured by amputation and have gotten a hook for a hand....bummer
PLEASE type in GREEN LANTERN THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY it is the true story of how George Lucas sent off duty CIA agents to threaten my Mother with guns Please check it out thanks
I WAS LIKE 5 OR 6 WHEN THIS SHOW CAME OUT, AS A KIDS WE WERE ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT STEVE AUSTIN . I REMEMBER HAVING THE ACTION FIGURE, IT WAS SWEET, BIONIC ARM ,LEG AND EYE. THEY JUST CAME OUT WITH A COMIC BOOK BASED ON THE SERIES CALLED THE BIONIC MAN.
For some reason, this intro scared the hell out of me. When I was 3-4 years old, I used to run and hide when it came on. Then when the intro was over, I would come back in the room and enjoy the show. I wasn't scared of monster movies, but I was scared of this. Go figure.
SEASON 1: Steve Austin, astronaut a man barely alive. We can rebuild him, we have the technology, we can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.
Season 2-4: Steve Austin, astronaut a man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him, we have the technology. We have the capability, to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin, will be that man. Better than he was before, better, stronger, faster.
@screwdigitaldish How's that? He was a government employee... he probably would have the same health care as the congressmen that have somehow convinced you that you don't need good health care. They, good sir, have fantastic health care... and what is so funny is that 50% of them are multi millionaires that don't even need it! The irony of it all...
Steve Austin, astronut, a man barely alive, gentleman! we CAN rebuilt him, we have the thecnology, we have the capabality to make the WORLDS first Bionic man, Steve Austin will BE that man, bettter then he was before ... BETTER STRONGER FASTER . ( theme )
Any idea where I can find a '70's style red tracksuit with white zipper so that I can dress as the 6 Million Dollar Man? The red & white sneakers would be a bonus!
Are you aware "The Six Millon Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman" will be released in the U.S. and Canada this fall? The first season of "The Bionic Woman" will be out in stores on Oct. 19th.
