When he saw her in the mirror he jerked back which made her place her hands over his eyes. Plus if you look at the scene just before he jumps, her dress is covering his head.

(It would make sense that if she could give him neck pains and make him heavier then maybe she could cause other symptoms too. Like temporary blindness.)

That's what I think, anyway. Overall, I love the Thai version.
