I absolutely agree. Artificial intelligence seems to be fucking poor. The game, as shown in this trailer, got nothing in common with a spy title like metal gear. Hope they'll spend those NPCs some glasses and a pair of hearing aids before releasing the game ^^

the ai isn't poor, its on an easy difficulty setting, and if you had some common sense you would know that. this was a live presentation so it was set on an easy difficulty so they don't die and have to restart. lower difficulty=slower reaction time, bad aim, stupid ai made for the bad gamer, so if you like realism like me you will pick the hardest. Whens the last time you heard of a presentation on the hardest difficulty? honestly, think about it

They behave that way in additional videos as well. The problem is, IMO, primarily with the light/shadow mechanics. In the first 3 games when the light meter was full, enemies saw you instantly, and when it was partially full they came closer.

Now, because there is no partial lighting, only bright lighting, the devs have to give the players a chance to get away under full brightness.

The AI is always like that in splinter cell. If you play double agent you can just sit like 1 feet away in the light and they won't see you. Pretty weird.
