Yeah man the belt drive is the way to go with these machines. It is not hard to build and I run this with a Sensorless Vector drive so I have complete computer control of the spindle Fwd, REV, start, stop, and speed from 150-7000 RPM..... It is also much quiter than the gear train. Go for it you will not be sorry. Peace
