  • My buddy has a Marantz stereo system which is like 36 watts. You'd think it was at least 200 watts if you were to guess by the loudness of it.

  • I have a Philips 4407 and I cant complain, I love it. I also have some other Philips stuff ( a lot actually). How bout u?

  • Hi! I love your video, it's like a vintage playboy for tape lovers! But one thing: why do you say don't buy TEAC or Sony?

  • teac isn't service friendly at all.

    sony uses it's own components.

  • Good video and agree with most comments appeared during the watching.

  • good collection very good, in my collection i have one deck a TASCAM 38 eight channel, and the rest of my collection are more than 120 open reel video tape machines, all in good working conditions..

  • That this is the music video

  • what type of mixers would go good with tape decks??

  • hi,i just bought an ampex atr 700(2 tracks) in very good condition, and one akai 635 d.i am very happy, work very nice.

  • hi, just wondering whats wrong with philips?

  • Well, they are sometimes crappy build. other then that very good decks.

    But plastic fantastic

  • Bravissimo - good video!

Question - why are you dislike GX-635D?

Is there a lot of differences between 635D and 646?

Hope to see a second video soon!

  • Hi, thanks for commenting.

well i don't dislike the 635 too much but it has faulty C458 transistors.

and the GX646 rarely has a defect....

so i choose the 646 as my number one...

the 747 is nice too but the 646 is really good!

difference: most of all is internal. the 646 is bigger and somewhat better designed.

  • thank you for reply!what is your favorite model?i need a very good machine for home to make a good recording, and i don't know which is the best.

  • the best cheap models are

    akai 630d 650D (GX77 18cm)

    expensive: akai 646 747

revox B77 is a good machine

A77 too but it is ulgy(my opion)

    don't buy sony or teac!!

  • hi,very nice collection! waitin' for the second movie ;) what can you say about gx 747 dbx? is a good machine?

    bye bye

  • yes it is.

sometimes the tape arms are broken.

but generally it is a good machine

  • Love the vintage gear. I have a Pioneer rt-909 and a Marantz 2280B in storage.

  • am sorry but you dont av good tape decks all

xxxx get a studer ampex revox

  • i have revox B77 A 77 B700

    no ampex

  • Hi Jon,

I knew it would be you ;)

    Stijn.

  • Wow, I really must say.

I am an aspiring vintage collector myself (18 years ol this day), and I can only hopw to build up a collection half as amazing as that - all it consists of now is a mildly battered ReVox A77, some crappy sony, and an old Saba tube-fitted workhorse.

I really like the first pioneer open reel deck. Curious designs tend to "turn me on", and I must say I find the spacing of the reels a bit ood - but so good looking!

    Cheers

    Anders, Denmark

  • Hi

yes the pioneers are good looking deck.s technically so so. some are very good. but take the 909. with the blue scale. these machgines aren't very reliable.

  • WOW! AWESOME! SO MANY REDCORDERS! WISH I HAD That MANY REEL_TOO_REEL!

  • yes i really have too much

tomorrow (sunday) i going to get TWO!! akai 400D ss with blue meters and with white meters.

both are not in good technical condition.
