I'd be interested in your advice regarding how to buy a good harmonium. How to gauge quality? How do the stops affect the sound? Are there other features beyond size, stops, and drones that should be considered? Does price really reflect quality? How do you maintain tuning? Is there much variation in the keyboard action, such as stiffness and noise? That sort of thing would be VERY helpful! Thanks.
When I've looked for harmonium notes/music/tablature - all i've been able to find are what I assume to be indian note forms, which I don't understand. Do the notes translate directly to western notes? If so, are they easy to translate? The reason I ask is that I think the droning would be cool in a rock band, but I am worried that the harmonium might have a few compatability teething problems when paired with, say, a guitar tuned in a standard western way.
Hi- Can you please post more of these kinds of video. I am now learning to play & find it difficult to find notes to match my song. (Jai Ganesh Deva)Thks!
Ha ha, that intro was just like listening to a Ivor Cutler session on the John Peel show (BBC)

I'm just learning harmonium with no prior music background, so this was a good explanation of droning.

I like the discussion of the theory involved in playing. Don't play the harmonium myself, but have always loved it. Nicely done.
