  • Hello Tinkerman, Wanted to make the same engine upgrade to my zero.. Wanted to know if there were any special mods needed to use the stock prop and spinner with the new Turnigy SK 4250-650kv motor? THanks for the great video and Paul's great flying..

  • @MrVerno1960 not sure you might want to ask noxqses which is pauls channel, I think you just have to make sure the prop adapter is long enough to fit, thanks for commenting..Tim

  • @MrVerno1960 I used a generation1 Turnigy sk4250-650 kv which was just long enough to use the stock prop and spinner and had the right threads. To make it work I first bolted on the prop hub assembly without the cone, then I recessed the nut that was in the cone enough so it would fit over the nut holding the prop on, in other words I have 2 nuts holding the entire prop assembly on instead of the stock one. The new sk3 is short and has the wrong thread. PM me if you have questions.

  • WOW! That's a sweet flying plane. Can't decide which Airfield warbird I like the most.

  • @p47joepilot I agree, they have a nice selection, I going to pick me up one as well.. Thanks for visiting and commenting..Tim

  • Tell your friend nice flying, and also your cameraman nice video.

  • @crow6145k thanks very much will do and thanks for visiting and commenting..Tim

  • @crow6145k, Thanks for the compliment! Paul

  • Great video, that is an awesome looking plane, sounds VERY neat. Good flying by your pal Paul. I agree with Ian, too many WANT TO HAVE'S on the plane list right now.

    Marlin

  • @justlostagain I would agree thanks for the awesome comment..Tim

  • @justlostagain, Thanks Marlin very kind of you to say! Paul

  • Been looking at this one! Thanks for sharing the flight with us. ~~Robert.

  • @RCRedBaron Robert how goes it man LOL you bet thanks for commenting..Tim

  • Great flight ! She's realy fast and congratz on that nice landing!

  • Comment removed

  • @burghoorn, Thanks, landing was a little bouncy but she lands even better with flaps!

  • Man that was really going some with that set up ;-) i've been thinking about getting the FMS/Airfield F4U Corsair as thats another great looking warbird they brought out and this one is also on the wish list but man that list is getting so long lol,i've got the Parkzone Spitfire MK IX maiden flight uploaded Tim just thought i'd drop that in there lol, great flying Paul and thanks for sharing it Tim = thumbs up.

  • @startazz, Thanks! I just saw a spitty maiden at the field yesterday so I'll have to pop in for a look at your video on your channel, it looks like they got the gear right unlike the fms/airfiled model. I'm also considering the Corsair but after seeing FMS's new FW-190 about to be released I might have to get that next. Paul.

  • @startazz Ian Thanks bro awesome man always great to hear from you..Tim

  • Great plane, nice, I just maidened mine today also! It flew great! Just wondering what that Sk motor size and kv was though. Thanks

    The flaps work great btw!

  • @youtwoba, for this video I was using the sk 4250-650kv on 5s. I didn't use flaps on that landing but now I do and your right they work great.

  • hmm nice video Tim, and she seem to have no problem with the 5s powerplant, cool. Would love to know what u think about the flaps, and how they work, does she get really much slower (not sure if Paul used then during his landing). And not to forget, how is the gear on that one, does she tent do nose over on gras like a lot of the other Airfield/FMS birds...sorry but im a little nosy because im thinking about adding the Zero to my hangar... have Fun at the field :)

  • @WarbirdFan66, thanks for commenting this is Paul and I now use flaps for landing and they really help slow the zero down. I'm fortunate that we have a paved runway but on well groomed grass she can taxi ok but I haven't tried to land on grass with this model. I think you would be pleased with this model as FMS/Airfield has gotten a lot of the details worked out on this one.

  • @noxqses74 thank for the infos Paul, and we are not that lucky here, our field is an uneven, bumpy grass strip on a hillside, and we mow it constantly to keep it reasonably in order. But if she can taxi on groomed grass its at least a good point to start. And its cool that the Flaps actually help during takeoffs and landings...the Zero is definitely one of the final contender for my next plane...thanks again, and nice flying btw, have fun at the field :)

  • Beautiful Zero...It realy moves out...

  • @PatBALEX, Thanks! It sure is fun to fly!!!

  • sure not scale lol i never new they had turbines for zeros. that is a rocket im surprised the wings dont snap.

  • @randyneighbour wing tubes were replaced with carbon fiber instead of fiberglass and the models wing is already pretty stout from the factory and truthfully the rods didn't need to be replaced.

  • Nice vid Tim. Which of the Turnigy SK motors is in it?

  • @rgthd007 For this video it was the SK 4250-650 kv but she now has the 5055-600kv and is even faster as if it needed to be :)

  • @noxqses74 Thanks Paul. Are you running this setup on 5s?

  • @rgthd007, yes 5s 5000mah.

  • That Thing is Fast!

    Thanks!

  • overpowered ?....nah, lol....it really nice...( i bet that thing can go vertical and keeps it )

  • @flyingchimp99, Paul here, thanks for commenting, I agree not over powered in the least! Today a guy was flying a plane with on board telemetry and was at 2300ft and climbing so I decided to see what the Zero could do and went straight vertical and not only caught him but went another couple hundred feet higher until the zero looked like a small dot!!!!!!
