I am not surprised that they did not win that year! BECAUSE A&T has been about ministry first, musicianship in a close second, hence the tough audition process, we never had to submit to the gimmicks that other choirs had to submit too to cover up the fact that they were not near as talented as we were....When you have to step out of what you are known for to compete. Something is going to lack. Still the best choir in the world to me! Love ya'll...

They move with precision (down to entering and exiting) and execute notes b/c they strive to operate in spirt of excellence like GOD.The direction and leadership is solid by 20+ yrs. They didn't win, but ya'll are STILL THE BADDEST college choir ever. GC!! U KNOW! (All..tos,can't walk without them)

speaking as an alumnus of both the Choir and A&T, they performed at a "GOSEPL COMPETITION" so you have to have "extra activity" as you call it, we called it showmanship. If you want to see a choir stand and sing visit the local church wherever you are. I'm not trying to offend anyone just frustrated with peoples opinions about things that choirs "are graded on". GC!!!! U KNOW!!!

Loved the visual artistry and I was elated because of the fact that their movement (s). did not affect the strong voices. No need to sound off calling it "extra activity", it's who we are as a people and how talented we are. They sing great! However, all that "extra activity" is just not needed. But The choir can sing very well. That's the only reason I can see why they did not win.

The choir who won first place did waaaayyyy more movements than we did! So in this competition maybe the judges saw it as we didn't do as much movement!!! Be blessed!

For all those who are wondering the choir did not win the competition that year..However this does go to show how actual SINGING and VOICINGS, mind you good singing, are NOT parts of the judging in choir competitions today..If you can wow visually thru tricks and skits, you can win. Just a observation not an attack!

Our dance ministry(EOP) does not dance to every song for one. Also there is more than one person in the auidence, somebody dancing can be ministering to one person and the choir can be ministering to another person.
