  • by the time i sound this good ile be 60.

thats sux , unlike his playing.

  • What kind of chorus pedal is he using?

  • @PIlotrcm the built in effects of the Haze

  • c'mon, this is the Haze straight up ? cranked ?

  • @cobol11111

Well I think he is using the combo because nothing is even plugged into the head...

The Haze series is kinda weird, they are made in India (but Im not a Marshall snob so no biggy for me)

but I've had quality issues sometimes and somethings I dont really get are..

The Haze combo uses "Marshallesk" EL34's for power stage while head uses "Fenderesk" 6V6's, the combo has a standyby switch head doesnt (gues wattage has something to do) and combo has a presenence knob, head doesnt.

  • he looks like a combo between vince neil and joe dirt *

  • from 2:17 onwards it was pure ORGASM! FUCK!!

  • who cares about wattage? in total this thing comes out to be like 90 watts and you could play the bottom cab which is its own amp as a 40 watt classical marshall tone amp. hell if you mic it up you could get away with 15 watts in a stadium setting

  • kickass!!!!!!! monster player...(oh my god i almost cried at 2:33!!!) respect.

  • Doug Aldrich is a TONE MONSTER. That guy can play.

I've been doing alot of searching, and I believe I have decided to get the Haze 40w combo.

  • @tony93666 thanks man sweet amp i want an slo 100 someday

  • @akaboo69 - supposedly the 100w Jet City head has the SLO 100 circuit in it...

  • @tony93666 So has the 5150 and Dual Rectifier.

  • Comment removed

  • @PaoloJM - they're also abit/alot more expensive

  • He fucking said he's playing the 40W! Why are people arguing, jesus

  • yes 40 watts, only 1 speaker...

  • is he playing the 40?

  • @fritosofdoritos ..no he's playing the 15watt Haze.

  • @CrazyDiamond1968 ... he is playing the combo

  • he is playing the 40!

  • If I was him I would get back at all the people talking when he is by plugging into that cabinet on the right and bleed all their ears with metal.

  • Was this early in the morning? He sounds like he hasn't had his coffee yet :D

His playing is amazing though, as usual.

  • anyone know what wah he uses? obviously u wont be able to tell here, but whatever he's using here sounds really good

  • As far as I know they were using G-lab wah during the Musikmesse.

  • @gejzabela yeah but the wah he is using is probably moded to his likings

  • the new cae/dunlop wah.

  • he's using reverb and deley i think, as always on his big solos.

  • that's some ballsy playing

  • i think at 320 under the togle switch on the poster is MUSTAINE hahah, its great,

  • what effect is doug using at 2:10?

aso is that a two channel JVM behind him with dave mustaine cabs?

  • what effect is doug using at 2:10?

aso is that a two channel JVM behind him with dave mustaine cabs?

  • Sounds great for the $. Like his shredding & the blast of Dave Meniketti-like (Y&T) Machine Gun fire at 3:03.

  • where is this musikmesse?

  • Frankfurt, Germany i think

  • the word 'musikmesse' is danish, and they talked about at AAGE (only decent guitarstore in Denmark) so i'm pretty sure its in copenhagen, but i've never heard of it anywhere else but on AAGEs website...

  • Musikmesse is German as well, and it is in Frankfurt :)

  • 'aage' the only decent guitarstore in Denmark? Have you seen other music store? aage has the monopoly at least in Copenhagen.... f*cking expensive store. I only buy on-line.

btw, this musikmesse was in Frankfurt - Germany.

  • this was in Frankfurt!

I was planning on going but that would have costed me close to 1.000 euros with hotels and such!

I live in denmark and would have loved to go, short of money and fun!!

  • this is an awesome amp for what it costs. I went to the music store today to try and maybe buy a mesa lonestar, but I wasn't happy with the distorted sound, and the many buttons to have to fool with to get good sounds. THen the salesman had me try this. I kind of sneered at first, but gave it a whirl, and ended up buying one and taking it home. Very easy to get tones to cover a lot of material, without a million knobs to turn between songs. I agree a compressor would be a good investment.

  • Haha, nice one Doug, they were talking over him, so he decides f**k it, time to crank... Then they shut up and start whooping for him!! LOL!!

  • I think what many who view these amp demos don't take into consideration is the fact that (especially in this case) we are listening to music picked up by a crappy camcorder mic or cell phone in the middle or back of a big room, compressed to hell when uploaded to YouTube and then, more often than not, listened to over less than optimal computer speakers. And then claim to be able to distinguish tonal nuance to such a high degree as to pass judgment on what "sounds" good or bad. Think about it.

  • Agree. But you may believe to me. This is a really good sounding amp and Doug is a really good player. A good combination.

  • @chipchance you are 100% true. wish more ppl realised what you r saying, good to know some ppl on youtube are still thinking logically

  • I think the amp sounds good in this video. Sounds like old classic guitar tones to me.

  • WTF are they all talking over him

  • This video (and a trip to the local music store) definitely convinced me not to buy a Haze.

Several other 4-20W amps (Vox Night Train and AC4TVH, Blackheart Handsome Devil, Blackstar HT-5, and Randall RM20) are soooo much better. Of course, IMHO. ;)

  • man if you can't hear how good this amp is you should probably go buy a solid state modeler. this amp is VERY good especially for the money. for more gain i'm sure a vintage pedal in front would make it roar in a hard rock tubey kind of way

  • What about people who want to play MUSIC and would like to know how the amp sounds on the clean channel with chords, and power chords/major chords on the overdrive channel/normal channel (turned up)?

  • im looking for a marshall thatll give me that rhoads and slash tone- im just looking for a head to go with my 1960 cab

  • buy a marshal rhoads

  • well. you might want to try to get the marshall 1959RR they discontinued making it but im sure you could find it used. (it is randys signature amp 100 watts all tube) or you could buy the marshall vintage modern slash i think likes it. but you might need a pedal to get a good rhoads tone. both cost at least 1500 dollars. so not really that cheap. but you pay for what you get haha. hope that helped some :)

    rock on

    Kingjoemom

  • try a z-vex Box of Rock.

  • i have a marshall hybrid amp- with the gain all the way cranked up i get a good heavy overdrive sound- i am looking for a pedal that increases the sustain but doesnt change my tone and get kind of a 80s hard rock sound for my soloing kinda like rhoads and evh would anyone like to reccomend a pedal for me?

  • a compressor pedal will help your sustain, it can also raise the gain if you have the output set high, i have an mxr super comp and its pretty good

  • @scottishguyiam I found the Robert Keeley Compressor Pedal to be the most transparent in sound while providing excellent sustain and clean boost...

  • I always wanted to try a Dunlop Wylde overdirve pedal. I heard Zakk doing a pedal demo with an AVT20 hybrid - and when he stomped the OD - that thing lit up! Very thick , but tight metal distortion with a db boost.

  • Dave Mustaine cabs

  • That was a shame...Has anyone ever played an amp where you didn't haVE look FOR A SWeeT Sp0tT???Where you can't a shit sound if you tried??? I lucked out & have 2...#1-a TrainWreak Liverpool clone w/ToneSlut trannies...#2-a Metropoulos 12000 "68 specs... Anybody else have something they can't get a bad sound out of???

  • You have no idea what you're talking about.

  • My impression is that just prior to this he walked over and bent down beside the amp and adjusted something such as a pedal or rack effect and THAT is what he looked at not the amp!

  • I watched it three times. The sound didn't crap. You must be smoking something.

  • Kickass little marshall!!

  • he wasnt playing through the 15 watt micro stack he was playing through the 40 watt combo which sounds better than the 15 watt , what shocks me on the 15 watt is there is no standby for the amp, no effects loop like some of it's counter parts which seem to have done a better job in my opinion. blackstar, egnator, krank. all have micro stacks and they all sound great. i'm in the market for one of these micro stacks but for the money blackstar seems to be the best for the buck and sound.

  • You don't need standby for all tube amps.

  • I picked up the HT-5, not to long ago.. It really turned me onto the brand.

  • it just doesnt use the standy, u use it for wen u take a break to keep the amp on and tubes warm but cut the current to the speaker, cuz it aint good for them to be hot then off n cool then on n hot again, a valve amp without a standby switch u just needa turn the volumes all the way down in place of a standby ... i usualy wait a minute b4 playin to warm them, then wait aobut 2 mins after playin to shut down

  • how does a tube amp work without a standby button? I noticed the haze doesn't have one...

  • Neither does the Bogner Alchemist, they just have a timer or something so they take a lot longer turning on and off.

  • oh, i see

  • the 40 watt combo has a standby button

  • Doug Aldrich is the best! he totally sold that to me :) makes his les paul sound like he was a wammy bar

  • you know, your right!

    -Arroyo-

  • haha does doug have a beard?

  • what's the point of this amp what a waste to have a tube amp when it's that quite

  • So volume is more important than tone?

    Riiiiight.

  • any tube marshall amp has great tone. if you're looking to gig any where i'm sure a 50 watt tube amp or a 100 watt . every body isn't going to sit at home and play on the toilet, jack ass

  • So fucking what? Some people want a good-sounding amp without having to live in the countryside or buy a Hot Plate.

  • its for people who want to mic up and play in small places likes pubs

  • yea a stack seems like a hand full i think there's haze amps too

  • Dude... 15 watts is plenty of tube volume to play live.

  • well if you want it clean..not really. but that als depends on the size of the place youre doing....a coffee shop or something with a drummer is is dynamically diverse 15 watts will definitely do

  • It'll probably cost an arm and a leg, like all their other stuff. All the stuff that's worth owning, that is.

  • 900$ dude

  • $600.

  • the 40w haze only costs 699, its not too bad

  • Doug Aldrich could play almost anything and it would sound amazing! Curious of the circuit design.Nothing beats the vintage stuff.

  • zakk wylde style !

  • yep they pushed it back to june damn it

  • when does this thing come out? guitar center said 4/21/09 now it says 6/1/09. WTF is going on????

  • out in uk ages ago

  • today they are suposed to be available

  • my valvetronix is gonna get replaced.

  • So's mine i reckon lol

  • lol

  • same again :P lol

  • The overdrive channel sound awesome, but the clean isn't very clean. The clean gives you that vintage blues overdrive when you turn up the volume, but you can't get a real clean sound when the volume is turned up.

  • Sweet! I knew they would make a tube mini stack.

Now I gotta sell my MG15MSII...

  • I was going to get a krank rev jr, but after seeing this...... hmmm....... I don´t know anymore.......

  • No i dont have a problem with my 401 (i had the heat mod done) but they have EL84's so they sound more like a Vox than a marshall. And this has the EL34's and have the marshall sound. The 401 is a great amp but i love the marshall sound

  • does anybody know how big the full stack would be? and how long till its released? thanks!

  • 11 days till they are available, cant wait, i really like the combo, the EL34's sound great, ive been looking for a replacement for my DSL 401

  • Im checking the combo out as soon as it comes out..did you have a problem w the401? heard they overheat

  • sounds killer..

  • Tried them at Musikmesse, they sound amazing, same build quality you would expect from Marshall, and no way are they budget/entry level, too good for that. Effects are studio quality too. For all you moaning pussies out there, try them out (or at least do your research) before you criticise...

  • Why did they put the FX section which is completely useless...??

Why Marshall is 2/3 years late on the release of a small wattage tube amp...?

  • Well if you knew what you were talking about you would know that marshall released a 20watt studio amp in the late 80's and the DSL201 20watt in the late 90's... I guess you only consider 15watts low wattage and not 20watts??

  • how can it be digital? its an all tube amp.

  • the combo looks really good,

  • sorry taht was for niiiiiiiiiik

  • So was he playing the 15 watt Marshall Haze amp on the left or the larger 40 watt one on the right? Sounds awesome though. Aldrich rocks!

  • The 15W is the ministack, beside the fullstack. The 40W combo is not visible on the video.

  • Idiot

  • Fuck, Marshall, "Where are the cleans?"

Digital crap I can live with, the lack of clean, I cannot.

  • clean is for pussies, pussy.

  • and digital stuff is ... my god , you have the same tone than one of these 80's new-wave band ! xD

i hate pure cleans and digital stuff ... i prefer when my guitar is bringing back to life ...

  • What? A good clean is way better then tons of crappy gain...

  • this was just my opinion , no offense ;)

  • neatstar - i played through a dsl401 40 watt marshal for a year at rehearsals - couldnt beat the sustain but the cleans sucked - now I play a 22 watt deluxe reverb with great clean and use a tube screamer . I would love one of these amps but I know the clean channel is gonna suck and have no headroom.

  • man, i love my bugera 333xl for cleans and overdrive. plenty of volume on clean, really hard to break up.

  • ooooohhhh this could be seen in my studio real soon!

  • IM SOLD!!

  • yeah hopefully

  • i would buy this if it didn't have the effects built into it

  • Up to you, bot not neccesary to use the FX. It's a good sounding and affordable Marshall all tube amp.

  • oh yeah i'm not hating on it or anything i'm just saying until i try it out myself the built in effects is the only thing holding me back from yelling i want this i want this haha

  • nevermind. i'we seen it yesterday and i was amazed. hopefully we can try out soon in musicstores

  • You can bypass the digital effects.

  • I agree. I like the fact that it has two EL34's instead of EL84's, as well as the fact that it sounds great.

However, on the face of it the switches look cheap as they are plastic and not proper metal ones. This just reminds me of the switches on the MG series and is perhaps an indicator that there are other cheap parts inside.

Also, why on earth have they put the digital effects on this? It just makes the amp look cheap. They should have just stayed "all-tube".

  • Thats's not my job to say anything beside Marshall, but the knobs and buttons are the same as on the JVM.

This is not that price level what the other Marshall tube amps cost. It is an entry level all tube amp, and this is the case why the effects are built in.

  • same...
