  • beautiful!

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (July 31), I played this for Sunday School assembly. However, it was to the tune, MARTYN, composed by Simeon B. Marsh, 1798-1875.

  • Why do you people want eternity? What's wrong with you?

  • @mashafasha5 Because we will meet our savior there! Who died for us!

  • @Thehuskarl Since when is dying for somebody a sign of love , if you don``t have to !! If I die for you today, does that mean I love you !!

  • @Thehuskarl And what comes next?

  • @mashafasha5 Because we get eternity either way, and eternity in heaven is better than eternity in hell. :)

  • @mashafasha5 I know because in the Bible there lists two options, heaven and hell, which are both eternal, and it says that heaven is better than hell. :)

  • @eurasianchica I find it difficult believing the veracity of a book written two thousand years ago. Just because it says it's the word of god it doesn't mean it's the word of god.

  • @mashafasha5 Hey, before we continue this do you mind if I ask if you are really interested in learning? I don't mean any offense, but there are a lot of people that are commenting just trying to start a fight. If you are actually interested though I would love to continue, and perhaps we can do this with message so as not to clog up the comments here? Thanks :)

  • @eurasianchica Sure (:

  • This choir has a wonderful blend!

  • @TheChildlikeheart is true this is great

  • Thanks for this beautiful song

  • "Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."

  • I think the most moving version of this song I have heard is Martin - 452 in the Sacred Harp. Very moving indeed.

  • This is really good. They mentioned it in a series by Ted Dekker i was reading, so i looked it up. Realy good!

  • that was beautiful.. i remember seeing this inold hymn books thinking it was the hillsongs one but i never actually heard it sung..

what D29418 wrote was beautiful in all ways - I rest my eternity on the simple truth - Jesus loves me. Amen!

  • Wrong tune! Charles Wesley would turn over in his grave if he heard it. Ick!

  • I can't believe this hymn isn't sung more in churches. The third verse is very good.

  • Considering the fact that these words have several melodies set to them, I think this is one of the greatest hymns ever written. I rest my eternity on the simple truth - Jesus loves me.

I have several old songs on my channel if you like this kind of music.

  • Amen!
