  • thanks!...you are amazing Mr. Dough....why not play some Filipino songs....and then play it into jazz.........(just a suggestion).....God bless you

  • Every once in a while a great teacher comes along and this Doug M. is him!!!!

  • Who in the hell is this guy? He's awesome! Okay, my next goal. Learn how to play like this! Awesome pianist.

  • Awesome playing. I really enjoy this video and will learn from it. Richard Arroyo

  • beautiful jazz.I hope one day I'll be able to play half as well.Mike Danton

  • Hi Doug, where can I join your Fanclub?

  • If you go to the dictionary for a definition of 'tasty jazz piano', you will see Doug's picture there. Very Tasty Doug!

  • Omg! I absolutely love this type of jazz. That you could listen to a black-tie ball! Thankyou, you've made me smile :)

  • A full fledged jazz pianist! Plus indeed a very good instruction. Kudos to you.

  • Hy Doug! I´m violinist, and i study piano jazz for two years. All these videos have a great value as a pedagogical interpretation, I´m waiting your next video!! Thank you very much!!!

  • Nice!!! Really love the way you play. I'm hoping to learn from this video. I'm not a very experienced player, though. Wish there was a way to slow the recording down a bit. That would make it easier.

  • Try either downloading the video from my site (address is in the blurb with this video), and (unlike in Youtube) play it in winamp or similar program, so that bits can be looped. Or better still, download the midi file and slow it down as much as you like (even if the sound is 2nd rate)

  • Hi Doug,

Love the pointy green arrows :) That's a great addition. Not too much new to say about the performance - as always, it's fantastic and well balanced. Some other jazz artists go over the top to show off, but you always seem to get the balance right.

One more thing though - fantastic bass line in the accompaniment. Just out of curiosity do you ever get the chance to play with a live band?

  • less is always more in jazz ,its easy to get lost up your own bits ,

  • This is the sound + a great jazzy/blues piano solo,

    I really enjoy it.

    Great Work

  • Awesome

  • I agree with L2L, definitely one of the best yet! I can't imagine the work that goes into creating something like this, but you must be so happy with the final product. Great work.

  • This is my favourite visualization technique so far. The arrows really help. Just a superb educational video with an outstanding audio track to boot! That bass line is fantastic - I think you should give the bass player a raise. ;-)
