  • He didn't even understand the reasoning behind Colbert being there? Wtf does that guy have Alzheimer's or something?

  • @MyOscarMeyerIsOnFire i was thinking the same thing

  • If Colbert actually used his fucking celebrity to be seriously taken, I think he would've helped garner way more support for the immigrant workers. It's frustrating to see that Colbert used the majority of his time to dick around and just make fun of the politicians (as funny and deserving as it may be).

  • Ron Paul ad at the beginning. <3

  • What's wrong with you Michigan? Why did you put this old guy, who is so completely lost he can't even talk correctly, into power? This is why the country fails.

  • Colbert couldn't handle the high levels of truthiness either.

  • Point number one: HOLY SHIT, PLEASE TALK FASTER!

Point number two: If you didn't want him to talk then why invite him?

Point number three: It's about time someone acually showed congress what people really think about them. A joke.

    Good job Colbert!

  • 5 seconds, this video could be 5 seconds if colbert was just like yo old man, you got no say

  • And these cretins LEAD our country?

  • COLBERT FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  • Geez, never felt this bad for Colbert before.

  • is conyers a dumbass?

  • Mr. Conyers could NOT handle the HIGH LEVELS of Truthiness emanating from Stephen Colbert.. COLBERT is a Chernobyl of Truthiness emanations ONTO THE THE ATMOSPHERE.. Some of us can deal and thrive on it.. Yet WEAKLINGS like Mr Conyers here sub come to them.. In other words:"THEY CAN'T HANDLE" the truthiness Colbert brings..

  • @communistjesus truthiness

    lol

  • Ron Paul for president. Even Colbert supports him

  • Would one those worthless house members tell that worn out geezer Conyers to stop torturing everyone with his dementia fueled rambling.

Seriously...this old retard Conyers gets to help decide America's destiny ?

    That's seriously fucked up.

  • @brian8793 Um, no, fuck Mitt Romney, and stop posting irrelevant bullshit on videos

  • What a dick.

  • OH NO HE DIDNT

  • GOOD COMEBACK ANYONE -(^_^)- COLBERT #1

  • look at all the photographers sitting there so comfortably...... i want to work like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GAWSH HE'S SOO MONOTONE....

  • lol these people run a country but cannot understand decent satire :/ Poor Americans.

  • @acidtwin There's a right and a wrong time for satire. That wasn't the right time.

  • @Fadeypoo there is no wrong time for satire, that is it's very essence

  • @Fadeypoo Yes. Talking about our government is certainly no time for satire. Our government does everything in the best interest of it's people and certainly doesn't make decisions based on who is giving them the most money at the time so I don't understand why people are so disrespectful to the government...

    Oh wait...

  • dont talk crap about colbert,

unless ur smart enough to understand him, doubt it

  • Jesus what an ass. Like congress has anything better to do besides talk bullshit. At least colbert's bullshit was funny.

  • Awwwwkwaaaard...

  • That monkey needs to stay at the Zoo -> Colbert

  • @whatkindofdumbru Sheep needs to stay in the pen (you)

  • @xDarkside101x Why am i sheep? Do you need a buttplug? Sounds like words are slipping out of your ass, bub. I am very awake. Up and about, getting my day started, even.

  • wow lol pussy ass people running this country.

  • You have to admit that the 5 minutes of time Colbert spent served more purpose, and somehow seriously engaged more issues than most people can gather during hours of testimony. Congress is a joke except for it isnt funny. If you are afraid of what this man is saying and dont want people to know the truth you will accuse his words his actions and the people of wasting money in order to spread fear through propagand in order to control the ingorant masses

  • @clarkygorny

You're absolutely right. I understood everything Colbert was trying to say. His message was clear.

There was no reason for him to have to leave. I just think it was a useless request.

  • @tygerchickchibi It wasn't useless, it was symbolic. It seems so completely unnecessary on the surface, and I agree that it was; however I believe that the move was meant to show that the hearing room is not meant to be used as a publicity stunt. Which it wasn't, Colbert cracked some jokes but his testimony had heart and purpose.

  • @RealisticMeg

.....I think you misunderstood. I was actually agreeing that he served a good purpose in the room and I thought it was stupid for them to be asked to leave. :/

  • I don't know why people are bashing Conyers. He was only doing his job by trying to keep the committee serious and focused. You have to admit that having Colbert there served no purpose and really reflected poorly on the Democrats for not taking the issues seriously, instead turning Congressional hearings into a money wasting joke. P.S. Stephen Colbert is hilarious and a good guy.

  • @MrMrmike5 Stephen's speach was finished - his presence for the remainder of the session would have been disturbance-free. And if there's anyone in congress unfit to accuse someone else of wasting time, it's John Conyers. Congress is a constant burden.

  • conyers is going to hell hahahah

  • Stewart-Colbert 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pretty sure he's funny... He's got his own show, been in movies, and gets paid a shitload of money. Don't rain on our parade because your soulless retard.

  • I would kick his un-funny annoying ass to

  • that's kinda fucked up. dude is the only reason why america cares about this and you kick him out?

  • @brian8793 your country (and mine) is fucked anyway if we don't all snap out of this apathy and break the back of capitalism. i live in the uk and the systems are virtually identical (except for health care but the way the tories are going i don't think that'll be here much longer, cunts), the central banks (private organisations) own the country (through the money the country owes them) and big business owns the central banks.

we all need to open our eyes to this shit.

  • God someone get Conyers a red bull he sounds like he's fighting off sleep with every word. MAYBE HE SHOULD RETIRE.

  • Colbert Translation: "Fuck you, Conyers. She said I could be here."

  • Conyers is a very polite asshole

  • @brhodes625 "It's easy to be considered brilliant if you always stay in character and thereby prove yourself incapable of..." Besides the other things wrong with your statement, namely comparing two out of the MANY famous comedians from the states to two of the most famous satirists in recent history, this sentence is relative to nothing. You make a lead in statement assaulting their brilliance, and then you affirm your statement citing something non sequitur to being a comedian. Boo.

  • @4590788 Actually, I never assaulted them or made any statement on anything said in the video. My statement was addressed to the person who called this "beautifully executed satire." If you want to call it "comedy" and thereby distinguish them as comedians (and not satirists) then I don't believe I said anything that gives you reason to quarrel with me. My point was that refusing to give someone the respect and decency of straight talk is neither brilliant nor satirical.

  • @brhodes625...

I want to see a Colbert/Hitchens debate over anything.

Christopher is awesome but I'm thinking it would be a draw.

  • lol

  • Prepare yourself! Stephen Colbert is the Rubberband Man!

    "Hey, y'all prepare yourself

    For the Rubberband man

    You never heard a sound

    Like the rubberband man

    You're bound to lose control

When the Rubberband starts to jam

Doo doo doo doo doo" - the Spinners

  • I keep seeing all these short clips of the portion after his opening statement. Is the complete video anywhere on youtube?

  • @FORMETOKNOWONLY -Exactly! I can't think of polite words to express my outrage of trivializing any issue that a congressional committee has before them. We entrust the decisions of this country to our elected officials. To have them make a mockery of topics before them is outrages. You can say what you like...that's your right in this country, but this shows precisely what's wrong with Congress. Get ready seated Republicans and Democrats, your political era is ending soon.

  • @MrStrych9toU Oh, why do you have to be such an old grumpypants!

  • @doobiesmoke15 It sure beats being a young poopypants.

  • Did that man escape for the retirement home???

  • Colbert told Conyers in a nice way to go eff himself....LOL....Awesome!!!

  • that is a whole room full of idiots!

  • and this is why congress's approval rating is in the tank......this did not help at all

  • Colbert is a tool...The chairman of this committee used him to make light of a very serious issue.

I didn't think it was possible for Congress to become more of a farce than it already is.

  • @FORMETOKNOWONLY yeah, how dare he trivialize the trivialized!

  • @FORMETOKNOWONLY You're completely missing the point of political Satire.

  • Conyers should leave...

...he's been there for years and nothing has changed.

    COLBERT for President.

  • @treid100182 Just because he's funny doesn't mean he knows how to run the US

  • @Snoop221 do you know how to run the fucking country cunt head ? please fucking respond!! I will gross you the fuck out!!

  • @lankey32 What does your comment have to do with anything? Your attempt at trying to bash me by saying shit that has nothing to do with my Original post or your's has failed. I bet I could run the country better than your ass. Really if your going to make up words like Cunt Head you really are an idiot.

  • I like Stephen Colbert;but wrong forum for a stand up routine.

  • Conyers is a cunt. And FUCK DISH NETWORK.

  • Colbert is a comedian but he is more honest and educated of the issues than the committee.

  • So raw

  • I'd hate to have House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers' phone bill ...the man talks slower than a Southerner with a mouthful of molasses in January.

  • @KevinADCarter NIce analogy! haha!

  • colbert owned Conyers

  • Is Stephen Colbert, the cure for American public's apathy towards congress?

  • Imagine the Press showing up for this spittle, but they won't show up for the BigBanks that wrecked the American Economy. They won't show up & report the BigBank CEOs&Executives who stole Trillions. The Press won't show all the over worked teachers who have too many children in their classes cause BigBanks&BigBusinesses won't create jobs & without jobs there's no revenue & teachers get fired, while BigBank CEOs get millions in bonuses. The Press won't report this abuse but they'll show this crap

  • lolol

  • what was the point of him going, u wasted colberts time! stupid old man is a hater.

  • I'm too good for you ... leave now. Bloody typical poli-chicken.

  • Why was he even there? What was he testifying to?

  • @KlingonSpider He was testifying on the matter of illegal migrant workers. He was one of only 16 American's to take part in a program where they experience the labor of a migrant worker, one of the jobs that many Americans complain is being "taken" from them by illegal immigrants.

And surely enough it's a difficult job that many Americans find too difficult or too lowly in class to take.

  • @IJestI

Ask the poor uneducated unemployed Americans if farming is too low class for them and see what they say.

  • @tubo222555 I think you'd be quite surprised at the answer.

  • @IJestI

There is a difference between wanting and enjoying a job and taking it because you need one. I am not suggesting they would like it. To your surprise, if they have mouths to feed, they will take what they can find, albeit with a grain of salt.

  • @tubo222555 If that's the case, then why are so few Americans clamoring for these jobs? The fact of the matter is that illegals are being hired for this work because no one else is applying, mouths to feed or not.

  • @IJestI

I understand what you are saying, but have you ever considered what employers are thinking? Why hire Americans at minimum wage when illegals can be hired for even lower wages? In the end its not about who is looking for work but who is getting hired and for what reasons. Why pay someone more when others are willing to work for less?

  • @tubo222555 That would be true of Outsourcing in most cases but not of our Domestic Farm Work.

  • @IJestI

Maybe you're right, but I highly doubt it. Why would the same rules not apply? Business is business, and in the end profit maximization is the goal.

  • @tubo222555 The issue is with farm work you have to consider the quality of the food produced in sub-standard conditions as at the end of the day all the food still has to pass U.S. quality standards. It's not the same as outsourcing something like Customer Service Rep jobs.

  • @IJestI

That may be true but what does it have to do with who is employed? And pretty much all business has to meet some sort of government regulation. Actually, because of the increased costs of having to meet quality standards, illegal immigrants are an even more favorable option in the eyes of farmers because the cheaper labor can balance out the more expensive production and upkeep costs.

  • @tubo222555 Your entire point is based on two ideas that simply aren't true. One being that illegal immigrants working on farms in the US are making less money than their US Citizen counterparts and Two being that Farmers are hiring illegal immigrants over US Citizens. Legal and illegal immigrants are working those fields all making the same wages. And they're being hired because they're applying while most American Citizens are not.

  • @IJestI

What happens is that because illegal immigrants are willing to work for so much less, farmers lower the wages for everyone, and nobody wants to work for poverty-level wages. The entire issue is centered on cheaper labor. The illegal workers will accept drastically lower pay, pushing legal workers out of the market. Illegal immigrants don't have to pay income taxes, so the drop in wages is not as drastic for them. A market has been created that cannot support the legal American worker.

  • @tubo222555 That's the theory but that's not actually what's happening.

  • @KlingonSpider

His experiences working admittedly only a day doing the jobs of a migrant worker.

Yet also he comes with the research of his entire staff and especially his writing crew who tend to deliver a beautifully executed sattire of true to life issues that affect a significant amount of people.

  • Colbert will ruin Conyers.

  • hope conyers gets cancer soon

  • @citizenlizard hilarious

  • Stephen handled the situation well.

  • Conyers is a chump

  • why did he ask him to leave???

  • he stutters like a child.

  • I'm glad Stephen didn't leave. He was asked to come, and he paid his own way to get there. It was rude for Conyers to ask him to leave.

  • Wow, Conyers just bought himself a lifetime of Colbert ridicule...poor bastard.

  • @Hopeful71 I'm not so sure - he was awkward; he wasn't Bill O'Reillying Colbert out of the room.

  • I just had this haunting vision of a World where Steven Colbert is the President of the United State of America...
