Thanks for this interview. It seemed more like us listening in on a conversation between the two guys rather than a formal interview process. I agree about the comment about David's integrity being on display here. It would be easy for him to do the "cool musician" thing and try to disassociate himself with Idol as soon as possible. Instead, he remains grateful for the opportunity it afforded him. In time, his success may do more to legitimize Idol than THEY realize.

Ok, I LOVE this interview.

Mat, thank you for some guy talk with David. Sports, food, etc. It was fun, he was at ease (he always is, but this was really natural). Love the comments about collaborating with the band on the next album. And finally, David's integrity on display again, by stating flat out he will not turn his back on American Idol and by expressing such gratitude for the platform AI has provided him. Both David and Mat, you are class acts.
