This song is the USSR national anthem. Abolished in 1992 it was reinstated by The president Valdimir Putin in 2000. (correct me if I'm wrong on this year)

But it is not always as the national anthem AND THE LYRICS ARE NOT USED ANYMORE.

Because the lyrics are explicit about USSR and it's might, it dont make sene anymore...it is awesome thought.

Come on guys neither Marx nor Stalin was a musician. That was written by Aleksandr Aleksandrov with lyrics by Serguei Mikhalkov.

And no, there was not a pre-WWII version and a post-WWII version. First version was written in 44 after the war, second version in 2000.

Same music, different lyrics (same author, though). It was used from 44 to 90, a new one was adopted after the end of the USSR. They readopted the old soviet anthem in 2000 but had the lyrics modified to delete all references to the ''Lenin party'' and ''invincible Russia''. But yes the one we hear on that video is the original USSR version.
