  • That's so gay. I'd rather just jump like a fucking retard.

  • haha this is stupid. never seen a person dance like that at a rave

  • i've always thought that the good thing about house music is that there are no particular rules. you dance the way you want. at least that's what i do.

  • can you dance THIS in THIS : /watch?v=6e9jQKgK2Bs

  • LOL

  • thats just gay....if you do that here you get face fucked -_-

  • I found out after spending countless hours on learning to dance to these moves, and performing it at the clubs/partys people just give me weird looks and pointing and laughing at me, probably because they think im cool right? ha

    P.S EXPERT VILLAGE SUCK!

  • expertvillage sucks

  • Expert village is such a waste of internet. lol

  • hahahahahahhaa

  • what the ....

  • WOW

  • that was useless

  • all that righting on the screen makes it kinda pointless

  • I've watched like 5 or 6 of these to see if I could get some new move or some new little thing to add to my own repetoire... but every one of their house videos is almost exactly the same... what's up with that? C'mon man... I know you can dance, break us off some shyt...

  • Exactly what does house music have to do with either 3/4 or 7/8?? Maybe someone who's heard more house than me will disagree, but most of it I've heard has been in 4/4... Who the hell wants to dance to anything in 7/8 meter, anyway?

  • waht wazzz dat a waste of 1:01 mins of my lyf

  • why does dude talk like that?

  • LOLLL This is some funny shit lol I was there as well for alot of old school Chicago partys.. Dancing is not something that is taught.. It comes naturally, when as dutrip said, the DJ takes you to another dimension. The best dancers ive ever known, have all had their own original style. And it certainly wasent like this lol

  • @motion2000 well some people want to learn how to do it as well, as in people teaching them. Going to classes isn't all bad at all, have you even seen toybox and his classes, shit he's one ridiculous as houser and I envy his great talent. sorry for blowing off like this but this guy has basics down of housing and is just trying to teach people it as well so don't hate on this guy at all just because this might look a bit akward.

  • I agree. We threw down to the music and moved how we felt. I know. I was there! lol

  • ahahahah these dance moves are ridiculous. Imagine dancing like that in a packed big room... no wa! I prefer dancing with my eyes closed and let the dj take me into another dimension...

  • jackin it up...is house dancin.....humboldt park chi-town!..representin

  • expertvillage videos have NO experts! Nobody does that shit here lol

  • @DjDestinyChicago You should check out the Expertvillage B-boy tutorial lmao

  • I've never been to Chicago but I still have a hard time believing they had names for the moves. House was about freeing yourself. I have been to some jersey parties(early 90's) and they throw down! If this is a representation of today's house dance styles then we need to call back the old schoolers to show the new how it's done!!

  • Its all different out here...ppl mix house wit hip hop its whack not like true house music...house is wat juke music originated from and tht is also another type of house music or can b considered.

  • you right DJPhase this is BS. I'am from Chicago and I grew up in the 80's. We didn't label our dances what were doing it was just a feeling. Hell if the music was right we would even slam dance to Lil Louis tracks at Medusa. All these cats are doing hiphop moves to house music and looks like shit.

  • WOW!!! What the fuck?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? You can't teach anbody how to dance to house music. Truth be told we were just moving to the music, it's not anything in particular, it is what it is, but what it isn't is something that can be taught!!!!

  • this is chicago house i dunn think its the same as like toybox kind of house

  • you fuckin suck! that ain't house dancing!

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok this IS NOT Chicago style house dancing. First of all, it can't be"taught," there were no "names' to the dances, and it surely wasn't learned in a studio! My true Chi-town "House People" from the 80's will remember the Hot-Mix 5, Farley "Funkin" Keith , Mickey "Mixin" Oliver, Scott "Smokin" Silz, Ralphi Rosario and Kenny "Jammin" Jason. We went to Mendel Prep on Sat. nights, and after- school parties before the holidays! That was TRUE house! Sorry newbies!

  • I wish I'd been there... a shame I was born in the wrong country 10 years 2 late :)

  • ahh same here

  • I'm sorry but I'm a true house head this is something you can't teach, when the music starts you lose control, jack the speaker,etc.... that's real house. Not knocking ones hustle but I know what real house is.

  • WAAAAAACK!!!!! the first 4 steps this dude does he doesnt even do in the same way he swithes it up...hahhaa this is not a good way to show dance!!! it should be deleted the whole video.hahah

  • Foundations to house are 1)jacking 2) footwork) 3)skating 4)lofting house dance is made up of african dance salsa tap swing etc... it encompasses all so it predates even HOUSE MUSIC!

  • is it me? or is he showing like the same thing in all these vids. i feel like im watching the same thing over and over again

  • show

  • It should be called "How to dance like me" ; housedance has basics moves, ok, but it's a free dance. If you want to help someone, don't give him food but learn him how to find it...

  • Ha Ha Ha Ha ha.!!!!!!!!

  • This is actually a great tutorial.

  • Stupido dis is House Dancing

  • LMAO

  • not house or break its hip hop. BIG difference 80's baby' wanna learn. get at me.

  • actually it's kinda hard to tell because the music isn't on so they're not really dancing it yet.

However, it is house as it says in the subject line.

These moves could be a part of a b-boying top rock routine though if it would be done with a b-boy feeling.

A lot of dancestyles have the same steps, they're just performed with different dynamics and that's what determines what dancestyle it is.

b-boying is much like boxing, everything is light and up on your toes to maximize speed.

  • House dancing has a lot more flow. It's usually kinda fast but it's very smooth and not jumpy.

  • one last comment regarding house :)

House was inspired by tap. So it contains a lot of steps which switches between standing on your heels and your toes.

It was also inspired by salsa movement so that's why we have the smoothness in the hips and the body staying a lot in the center while the feet work back and forth and side to side.

House also has roots in african dance as most streetstyles do. That's why we keep the weight low by bending our knees.

Housers also need to know jacking! Period

  • thanx ! ive learnt more frm u then dis vid. ask u a question . so u mean house is a free movement dance tat has the three points u stat as a base of movement just nw??

  • yes, that is what I mean and also arm movements inspired from a dancestyle called whaacking which is a feminin (or really gay) style of Locking developed in the gay clubs during 70s and 80s.

The HouseDanceproject (dot) com site is a great source for houseknowledge. It addresses key concepts such as jacking and history which always helps understand any dance style.

  • arm movements of house aren't inspired by waacking (withouth the h!) and it got it's own history... people keep messing it up with a "gay" form of locking that is danced to house music, but in the beginning, it wasn't even danced to house music (tyrone proctor, soul train)!! Peace!

  • According to Brian "footwork" Green, they are, but I usually don't see much resemblence either.

  • Can ya please do more of these???

    its a dope tutorial
