I sang this beautiful song many years ago in the 70's in a production of Jaques Brel. I appreciate it even more in the native French. It is one of those timeless, passionate songs.. Vive Jaques!!
Je vis tout près de l'endroit où le grand Jaques a passé une bonne partie de sa vie,à Bruxelles,Anderlecht et Moolenbeek,tous les jours je passe devant l'église où il s'est marié et je sens bien qu'il est de chez nous,un vrai "keitje" de Bruxelles,chaleureux,franc et profondément gentil...
