I'm a 14 year old by who's lost his father to alcoholism and now my mom has been drinking heavily for the past couple years and i'm s scared i'm going to lose her as well. I have no one else in my life other than my grandma and sisters who wouldn't be able to support me if she did pass. I've tried talking to her annd she said se's stop and promised, but it never happens. Any advice? /:

I was guarded my whole life.. and then all of a sudden I'm in my twenties and everyone decides it's time to tell me the truth.. next thing I know, pretty much everyone in my life is some sort of an addict, apparently... You see it happen with people you know, but it's different when it's family.. I know the helpless feeling... it hurts so bad... Do you still have any kind of a part in his life?.. It's never too late to help anyone.. especially for the sake of your kids.

I know it's not easy for your side either.. I've learned that the hard way... But the very best things in life aren't easy to get... Just do whatever you can to get things straight.. I can so relate to this right now.. My family has a friend named Steve.. Hes been a raging alcoholic since he was 16 years old, and currently hes been lying in a hotel room getting drunk and peeing the bed.. While we have been trying to convince him to go to detox =/

Its very weird... And so true.. But they don't relaize there hurting anyone else, because there just thinking of that bottle while everyone around them is slipping into sadness because we see them slowly slipping away in a drunken person that you arent sure anymore of who they are.

There isnt easy answers for anything in life.. But we just dont have to watch it. We can change it. Yes we cant change the person around us.. But we can try to change other people or just open there eyes to it.. And everything in time fades.. It doesnt disappear but it fades.
