Some cats, like Moire, love being brushed. Notice how it licks Mr. Lowdope's hand at 1:50 in a gesture of mutual grooming.

But other cats hate it and will take your hand off if you come near them with a brush.

I think Moire is a Japanese Bobtail, but I'm just guessing - I'm not an expert. Perhaps Mr. Lowdope could tell us in English so we gaijin can know a bit more about one of our favorite cats.

To a cat, being brushed by its owner is no different than being groomed by its fellow cats (which they do to each other in a pack). Cats consider their humans to be part of the pack.

And they do enjoy being brushed. Our cat always loved being combed for flees as well.
