I think Haas has a better backhand down the line than Federer. At least he uses it a lot more than Federer does. Federer often goes the safety of the cross court on his backhand, but really only goes down the line for a pass or when the opening for the clean winner is there.
@BrotherTree1 does this 5 setter mean that Federer would make a lot of unforced errors even back then ... in 06? Bcoz i remember he made a lot of UE even in the finals of the french !
@Jaishankar100 ugh man... go back to the basic mechanics of the game!!! i mean there could be two possibilities here. either haas played really well to get back to even terms or yes, fed could have fucked up with errors to let haas back into the match. personally i felt haas faught back with great winners and just a burning desire; but as well as this, yes fed did make quite a few more errors than his first two sets. that 2nd set was haas just going off his usual head, fed played normal there.
6:08 was a mad point. But who found Haas's reaction hilarious? I remember when I saw this on the big screen outside the stadium my mates and I laughed for ages for his reaction of that point. That's the reason I love Haas lol~
What an amazing point for Haas at 6:20! What a great stretch. I can remember watching this match on the tele and it was amazing. Both players played so well. Let's hope Federer and Haas both return to form in 2009.
