i felt soo sorry for Martha in these episodes. Not only was she on her own in a rascist boys school long beofre black people were treated equally, but the man she'd fallen for (like all other fangirls) had fallen for a human. And it wasnt her.

I honestly don't know how she coped. Im Irish and i would have got some shit too if I was in 1913 but i think the only reason she stayed calm and everything was because she didnt want to prove the prejudices the others had of her then
