  • dear marlow

i am now working on this line and i'm wondering if you can maybe talk about your muting technique? because when i get to the 2 higher strings i get this hum from the E string; and i see that your not using artifisial mute like a hair band (like wooten does) so the muting must come from your hands right?

anyway - i hope that you can explain a bit about the issue

    p.s

what bass is this?? sounds great!! :)

    IR

  • @tallbaldmonkey Its just muted with my underarm

  • @MarloweDK

wow i realy didn't think of that.. i thought i was something with your left hand..

    i'm gonna try that

    thanks!!

  • @tallbaldmonkey Im actually also muting some with the left hand

  • Look at his face 0:40 .. lol

  • how did you even get hold of one in pink

  • how did you even get hold of onein pink

  • Those Sandbergs sound so nice, I haven't come across a dealer in the US yet. Although I guess I haven't looked very hard. How do you like yours? It sounds great!

  • @CSAN33 I own a Store in NY. I am working on becoming a Sandberg Dealer

  • MARLOW what type of amp head you rocking there?

got any suggestions for pick-up upgrades for my j-bass?

    keep rocking

    DJ

  • I think I can get this lick down nicely....now to find a shop that will sell me the necessay pink velvet hat to wear while playing it!!.......outstanding.

  • You never cease to amaze me! Thank you for the lessons... You help all us aspiring bass players to know how it's done! Thanks!

  • dude you are so cool

  • this is oh so yummy!

  • You are not supposed to make it look that easy - it depresses us lesser bass players!

  • Is it a Hello Kitty bass? :-)

Kiddin... your style and technique is awesome :-)

  • Love the lick, can "probably" learn it, but won't be thumbing it like that anytime soon ... seems you thrive on creating tricky devilish little licks. You're a very bad man! (in a good way) haha

  • I want to see you smile.

  • your bass sounds good man

  • your so good man ! where'd ya get the pink bass ?

  • It takes genius to come up with a lick like that! Great as always, Marlowe!

  • Just wondered if you have or have played a Sadowsky bass? I know they're very similar in some respects to Fenders and you have a LOT of Fenders.

  • @idiotsavantmd No I havent tried a Sadowsky.... yet

  • @idiotsavantmd He's playing a Sandberg here...

  • very good

  • Always a delight Marlowe.

  • nice lick my friend..

  • Awesome! You totally rock. Glad you brought out "pinky" again.

  • Only the real men play pink basses

  • fantastic bass sound

  • Absolutely stellar as always!

  • 0:43 nice

  • nice groove and bass! also a nice teaching..thanks for all those gorgeous bass lines! one question...! the most versatil bass ever?????? :D greetings

  • Hey, Marlowe! I once heard in a interview with you that you started on guitar. Do you still play guitar (I once saw a guitar in one of your vids)?

If so, I'd love to see you play the guitar on one of your vid's. That'd be so awesome!

Greetings from Holland (That weird country south of you :P)!

  • @TheBlueBandYTAccount I wasnt ever very good at guitar, luckily i switched;-)

  • damn nice i gotta learn that. love your double bass in the background

  • Hi Marlow, I was just wondering how many basses you own? You play quite a few different basses in your vids, so I'm just curious how many you have. I'm also curious as to which basses are you favourites?

  • @CSAN33 How many basses? Not enough;-) Favorites vary, but my red Fender is the most precious

  • @MarloweDK mine too! It looks and sounds great! The Sandberg relic would br the second best.

  • @MarloweDK Not the Rickenbacker? Most bass players I know, myself included, would do anything to own a Rickenbacker.

  • @wtfomgbbq4 Yes, it has a cool design and sounds great too, but im a Fender guy by heart

  • @MarloweDK Understandable. In that case, how come you haven't added a Geddy Lee Jazz to your collection? It's the most versatile, comfortable bass I've ever played.

  • @wtfomgbbq4 Right now I "need" a sunburst Fender P with rosewood neck and flatwound strings

  • you are damn amazing man, respect.

  • I'm going to go watch Seinfeld now.

  • where can I get that shirt?

  • @Kadandendie Dunno, bougth it in a small shop in London, the brandname is "junkfunk"

  • Once again when I think I'm making progress and want to try learning something new, you give me an overwhelming urge to just put my bass guitar away and hide under my bed :(

  • Mr Marlowe...i've been watching your videos for some time now and even though i'm a guitarist you keep inspiring me to buy a bass and slap up a storm! keep it up :)

  • Sometimes the Sandberg " Dots" in the pink area of the body, right to the pickguard flashes away xD wtf xD look around 0:58

  • @toefes its just a reflection

  • NICE.

I really missed your "clean" signal from the amp. The clanking of the strings on the mic really killed your tone! all IMHO, of course. ;)

  • @inuyashaspet thats what makes slap bass :)

  • my desk just started shaking because of your funkyness

  • Love that tone.

  • Tre ord: Du er fantastisk.

    Hilsen Norge.

  • Your sound is so great. :O

  • junk funk aw yeah

  • what a strange key!

  • いつも見てます!

  • groovy man!!!!

  • Awesome : ) Very groovy.
