Honestly i dont like the entire Movie that much, i think it's too much hollywood drama in too many parts. But the invasion scene and the village battle scene are one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. It's ... art, it's so realistic, so rough, it makes you feel the soldiers situation more than any other war movie. Janusz Kaminski, who photographed it, really deserved the Oscar.
I think that the best part of the movie is the part wer the sniper at the end fights to the end even though he knows that death is seconds away...amazing.You dont see passion for what you believe in like that much anymore!

I think the best part about this movie was that Spielberg played that ultra scary sound of the tank for like four minutes before the battle even started. Honestly i dont like the entire Movie that much, i think it's too much hollywood drama in too many parts. But the invasion scene and the village battle scene are one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. It's ... art, it's so realistic, so rough, it makes you feel the soldiers situation more than any other war movie. Janusz Kaminski, who photographed it, really deserved the Oscar.

I think that the best part of the movie is the part wer the sniper at the end fights to the end even though he knows that death is seconds away...amazing.You dont see passion for what you believe in like that much anymore!

Waffen-SS infantry woud have spread out and take the flanks after the first US shots...the tower with sniper and machine gun would blow of 5 min earlier...
even its an ambush-germans new that tere were enemy forces in the area!
they would never act like this...

thats pretty correct. in this scene german forces decide for the worst strategy possible. in reality no commander is stupid enough to order all his forces (behind tanks, which are nearly senseless in street combat) in small streets, which a perfect for an ambush!

wanna see a good warmovie look `Das Boot` (dnt know english title, the boat?) or Die Brücke(the bridge)..
youll see that many ger-soldiers were not killers but victims of war

the russians had good close combat weapons, like the ppsh, which were much faster than the mp 40, the russians had a much better weapon arsenal when it came to close combat, thats why they won stalingrad back
