  • WOW! EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE!

  • i have the same scope!!! got it 5 yrs ago. used it once to look at the moon... too much scope for me, im a beginner

  • @GLENNTILE Care to sell it?

  • @davek12 make an offer. like i said, i only used it once and unfortunately i dont have any friends who have scopes . i was hoping to get 1300.00 USD for it . thats the scope, 9x50 finderscope, tri-pod, handcontroler, and i also have a celestron case containing unused filters and eye peices. truth is id like to keep it if i could just get some training . but if you have 1300.00 i can send it all your way! ill try and dust it and get everything together and take a short video for you

  • @GLENNTILE I can't seriously afford an 8" right now, but it's a very worthy instrument that I'd love to have one of someday. You understand the price, though, and perhaps there's another hobby that $1,300 would get you deep into if you don't enjoy astronomy. I can see why some might find it boring. Starting out with a GOTO 8", if it can't find stuff that gets your attention, it's probably not for you.

  • @davek12 im having a hard time aligning my finder scope with the mainscope in order to start the triangulation process for the gps. i think i may need some higher end eye pieces! and i do not kno jack shit about astro photography. altho i do want to learn.

  • @GLENNTILE Ok, I can help you with that. Take it out during the day with your widest angle (highest mm number) eyepiece. Find something stationary and distant but visible, such as a radio tower, and get it centered in the view. Now adjust the aim of the finderscope so that it matches. Move it to something else and verify the match. That should be good enough to get you viewing. Concentrate on viewing before photographing, and try that later.

  • I hava celestron astromaster!!!!!!!like it so much!
