  • I wished i had done my homework about products like the MPC500 and compared them to N.I's maschine line first. Not knocking N.I's maschine line. Because if your not having any software problems then it works really well. But if you do, it's a nightmare!!! I'm evening getting excited about the AKAI Renaissance and i haven't ever owned a mpc in my life.

  • @Warren1814 I can truly understand your frustration. I will assume you meant MPC5000. A powerful machine that with some software updates have improved. My only gripe is it should have more ram & more power than the MPC4000 but it does have more functions so it is a trade off. MPC's are fun to work with cause they are fast to learn & you can get really good fairly quickly. MPCR will be amesome & I can't wait!! I will always have a stand-alone MPC or two or three or...hell yall Know Me

  • Man you said it BIG TIME!!! I agree. My advice is this. If you can get a hardware product without being tied to a computer go that way big time!!! Because if you have software driver issues or if your pc is to slow or if you don't have the right audio interface you will not have a good time with your new product!!! If i knew about the mpc 500 before N.I.'s M-Maschine i would have got that instead. But once akai drops it's prices. i know what i will be getting BIG TIME.

  • I can agree with you dude. I started out on the mpc2000 and now productions on the ni maschine integrated with logic pro. But when I heard about this, I was like man! The new mpc is even sexy. It looks better

  • @ksoundd Yeah they made it look very well but most importantly the only controller designed like an actual hardware unit. I credit the Hip Hop Pioneers that gave Akai there input and Bruce Forat. Thats why I am most excited about this MPC.

  • Real Talk right here! Much respect!!!

  • @ronzrico Thanks for stopping through.

  • Yo man i subscribed strictly on the knowledge you dropped cause i feel the same i'm an MC on the come-up so I need to know where I can get at you about beats as well as shoot you some stuff. One love god

  • @AvantGardeMC No doubt Homie I will reach out soon!!

  • Yeah, I'm excited about the Renaissance too! Thanks for the shout out...it took me by surprise! Keep making good videos and music!!

  • @KayKayONTHEBEATZ Thanks a lot, I truly appreciate your kind words and admire your work thanks for staying true to the artform but most importantly yourself...I am a fan!!!!

  • If it's $600-$800 I'm sooo in there!!!!

  • @KEYBEATZ The MPC Studio will be $599 and should be like the Maschine in a sense that you would sample by bringing the audio into your current interface. MPCR on the other hand $1299

  • I heard the Renaissance has a sound card in it, don't must people utilizing DAWs already have a Digital Audio Converter? I know I do and I'm a total amateur, my DAC cost me about 200$ and is decent quality, not sure what they have in the Renaissance but it seems to me that most of us using digital setups would want to have a dedicated and good quality DAC.

Any input guys? Do many of you use digital setups anyway? Is this Akai's way of introducing the more analog crowd to the digital setups?

  • @NeverReality yes and there way of solving some of the things MPC producers have been asking for. The new customers will come but keeping your core audience and customer base is key and that is what I believe Akai intensions are.

  • it sucks its 1299 i totally want it but i think ill just stick with my maschine btw subbed love your channel, and could you do a review on your thoughts on the maschine im just curious cause i love mine :)

  • This Brother is the Truth

  • @dredelcoy Thanks for the kind words.

  • I love this guy's passion for his gear. Respect bro

  • @snrjrdn Lol...Thanks for watching appreciate your time.

  • There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info out on the Renaissance yet. VST support is good, built-in sound card is good. If they get the price right, NI are going to have to step their game up. I've got Maschine, never had an MPC (that worked...long story), and there's plenty I like about Maschine, but it does have its frustrating limitations that kind of keeps me going back to my old software. Hopefully the competition from Akai will motivate NI to get those flaws worked out.

  • @Swenglish I have to say I agree. I like the Maschine but learning and adapting to the menus are the time consuming part. What I will like about the MPCR is the familiar platform.

  • @Swenglish Tomorrow is Namm so should have some decent info by the weekend no later than the start of next week.

  • I'm willing to bet money homey is from B-more or somewhere close. that accent is hard.

  • @joeytunez If you are talking about me...Hell to the Yeah B-More Born & Raised.

  • @OverlorBeats right on man. im from seattle but i got family over in that area and i can always tell when someone is from B-more when they say "you" cause it comes out "yew".

good shit on the review to.

  • @joeytunez This is true & I get that a lot especially from people who have watched "The Wire"

  • word!!

  • @kljmusic No Doubt ... thanks for stopping thrpugh.

  • sp1200 classic with a akai s 900 we owned that. the mpc was later in the game my 2 cents. but i own the maschine mpk49 mpd 18 with reason an fl studio im good. depending on the price i might do the mpc studio for portable use, cause like most of us we gear heads lol

  • @CORNERSTOW That is a classic original Hip Hop set up from back in the day Pete Rock rocked that set up I believe MArly Marl did as well. I am almost certain the Beatminerz did as well. I support anything that allows someone to make dope music and get that creativity out.

  • subsequence01.bandcamp.com/

  • you say so much in this one vid...100 bro...grace and peace

  • @swingman37 Yeah I tend to ramble...lol

  • Good rap my Brotha, However, My loyalty will go to whoever delivers the best product, decently priced and overall workflow for my needs....just that simple...IMO.

At one time it use to be Sony TV's, LCD's LED's...Now Samsung Supper OLED's may soon be taking over....Lol. To Be Continued.

    Peace & blessings.

  • @Reggmail As it always should my brotha... I love the MPC workflow always have.

  • Thats what Yamaha did on AW2400,,, they started it ..but in Harddisk recorders..convert hardwear to softwear

  • @orology So you saying the hardware controlled the software??

  • I haven't had the time tonight to check the whole vid, but props on your rig.

  • @dilliot2k Thanks my man...Checked your page you got serious talent. I almost got the bug to get a remote control car but I had to catch myself real quick...lol!!

  • @ 10:32, DJ Hellfire? Lol!

  • @djhellfire1 Hell yeah my bad bruh...You be killing it, a lil upset I forgot your Name will not happen again...lol.

  • @OverlorBeats It's all good G! Lol! I been fuckin with Maschine for the last 4 months. Lovin it for the most part. Wanna try to get some vids up soon! Peace!

  • @djhellfire1 Getting ack into with the Mikro some things have change since I had it last and more menu's to scroll through on the Mikro so getting adjusted to it is gonna take a few days or so.

  • Bring on "The Wonder Years"!!!

  • @lonerworm Keep listening and checking out the Crew I trust we are gonna bring it.

  • Great video bro. I feel ya 100%. It's not the machine it's the man. It's the hiphop man who made n will be making this machines into hiphop legends on their own. You put this on a hiphop perspective. You def' know your (hiphop) history, and where we (Hiphop) are coming from. It's all about the feel n the hiphop "formula". Keep doing ya thing. Bless!

  • @zonalibertadacv Thanks I truly appreciate your comment and kind words.

  • I agree with you man. Music nowadays needs more friendly competition.

  • @JoyceJennings Thanks for the support and your time.

  • dude. srsly best channel in the world. Subbed.

  • BTW your video blog was done well and in good taste! I especially like the 8000 and 8800 in the background!!!

  • @djbigmonay Thanks a gain I appreciate it.

  • And I sent Mike and Roland a message

  • @BlaccJuelz Cool...keep me posted with that.

  • Bruh I'm peeked them underlying tracks

  • @BlaccJuelz I knew you would...lol

  • Your video was very insightful. I especially like your comments about "where were you?" when some of our favorite joints came out. I was in the Navy wen all of the joints you mentioned came out. Never will I forget. As far as the MPC Renaissance goes, I am looking forward to it, poss to add to my 2500 and 4000. Your honesty and thoughfulness of wat u believe and strive for show through in this video. Thanks brother..

  • @djceejaay Thanks for the kind words and support.

  • mann just wanted to give u another shot out.. thanks for this vid most of other people talking about mpcr are involved with maschine some kinda way and down play the mpcr before they even get to see it in action... um not dis liking maschine but how can hate a product so bad for just being created lol crazy but great vid man um excited to though..

  • @blc01 Thanks for stopping through. I chose to look at the positives and we all have the choice on how we approach a situation positive or negative and to me at the end of the day it is all good, it only makes it better for the consumer.

  • BRO, I'M GOING TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO GET YOUR VIEWS UP IN THIS VIDEO. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT SPEAKS THE TRUTH ABOUT WHATS GOING ON AS FAR AS THE MPC-R, N.I. MASCHINE, & ETC PLUS THE PAST & PRESENT OF SUCH PRODUCTS. YOU KEEP IT REAL, SO LET THIS FAKERS KNOW WHAT IT IS WHEN IT COMES TO THIS MUSIC, THESE PRODUCTS, & THIS LIFE STYLE!!!

  • @MixWorkRecordings Thanks for your support it means a lot.

  • I have never owned an MPC... But I do own a MPD 24 and I must say never disappoints... And what you said about the MPC is true i

You gotta have soul... To me there's nothing better then when you find a awesome sample or when you make a soulful beat and I'm only 17 but I never had a feel to modern radio hip hop... To me there's nothing better then hearing a dope beat from Preme or Pete Rock or 9th wonder... And the MPC is and always will be True Hip Hop... Oh awesome video and you make sick beat

  • @blankname14 Thanks I appreciate the support, The MPCR will offer a lot more than there standard controllers so I am very excited.

  • I'm stickin with my MV until Roland wakes the F... Up!

  • @djbigmonay LMFAO...I hear you homie.

  • @djbigmonay i dont think the mv will have to do much work every one is just know catchin on to what they was tryin to do years ago... i guess they didn't really push it because they didn't sell like they thought they would but its a good product though..

  • O... way to drop science. It was only a matter of time. I still love (and rock) a 2500. I actually have followed Maschine on Mikro, but I'd think the MPCR should be used standalone like the previious MPCs...I would hope. I'm with u, the MPC is forever hip hop. Peace.

  • @7thgroove Thanks for stopping through 7thgroove. I love my MPC2500 as well and would like to get the limited addition one day.

  • out of the three videos on this subject that i watched...yours is by far the best.....and you right about the price...if I can use this with my laptop I'll be in love....and I'll buy it as soon as it drops when the store opens

  • @kintarowest Well homie you will be in love and prepare to get it once it drops and the store opens...lol. Thanks for coming through subbing and supporting I appreciate it.

  • @OverlorBeats no prob man.....you know I'm getting it! looking forward to your thorough product review that week!

  • Out of everyone who said something about this new MPC it seems that you had the most open mind towards it all together...it good to see someone who has a lot of drum machines, giving his honest opinion on this touchy subject & not be bias in any way... Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Lokuss09 Thanks appreciate it and thanks for watching.

  • Thanks for your 2 cents Big Homie!!

  • @mpckingz614 No Doubt thanks for watching.

  • @overlorbeats I know I had to drive to the city like 60 miles but I got my boys discount 700 off so you know I had to get it

  • @dlpeace That kind of discount I would definitely get one for sure.

  • @overlorbeats I thought the same thing until I went to the Best Buy with the guitar center inside. Its like Sam Ash. Google looks great

  • @dlpeace We have some nice ones back home and I like the set up but they have not implemented this in all of there stores so it makes it difficult for everyone to touch it or see it.

  • This will be able to be used without the computer and has a soundcard in it so this is exciting. They are building on the NI software and making it better like u can use a vst on EVERY track without workarounds! Im excited. Also a slim version is coming and the IPAD 2 version introduced all at NAMM...Its about time AKAI!!! I cant wait!!! I feel you about Roland I have the MV8800 which is a BEAST but the MAschine murdered it, Load times on the MV kills me as well. But I will always keep it! Peace

  • At the end of the day..a controller is a controller...with that being said..Akai Renaissance should be $599.00, Studio $399.00, Slim $299.00 ....if this is the price point....these items will sell well against its competitors.. anything above these prices for these products... no go... imo. And for me..SOUND IS THE MOST important aspect..since it is music. features come second for me. If they can make it sound, hit, and swing like an mpc I will buy it..if not.I wont. Great review though overlor

  • I can't understand why the Beat Thang is so under the radar. Its the Best equipment I have ever used "2000xL,1000,2500,and the Fantom X6. Its crazy you will never know what im talking about unless you had it for a few hours.

  • @dlpeace I don't doubt that one bit DL. Keep in mind I have not used it at all. 1 they should not have made Best Buy there exclusive distrabutor I know they sell equipment now but a lil hard to take Best Buy serious for all my studio needs. 2. At that price point beat thang virtual should be included, I thought it would be, even then I think it is pricey. 3. They should promote it better or get a better marketing team you can't do it all yourself. I strongly considered getting it.

  • @dlpeace "Continued" I considered getting it for its portability and the fact that it is a controller for the software, Sampling from youtube is a plus. Seems like it has only one input jack. Also I am a Boom Bap Producer so I sample from vinyl as well as everyhting else. Dallas Austin is a Legend but you gotta promote to the Hip Hop producer, Main & underground. Akai got Sean C & LV respected underground Producers & Araab Music to help promote it.

  • @dlpeace "Conclusion" Beat Thang I have no doubt it is Ill and I may still get it. The biggest problem is it is not easily accessible. If it was in the Guitar Centers, Sam Ash's and other gear stores more people could see it touch it and get excited about it. So keep making ill beats bruh and if I do get one I will definitely bang out and do video's I only see a few people rocking it on youtube.

  • its funny i look at your set up and mine is exactly the same i built an upper and lower shelf from one end to the other best thing i ever did

  • that new mpc i got to get it

  • @nizzobeats I hear ya can't wait for the video on the slim.

  • Alright bro! The man with mad machines though the mind is the first computer!

  • @Metamophisis so true so true

  • Sorry i really enjoy watching your vids. But there never was never will be a MPC KILLER.EMU, AKAI is like ALI Jordan Mr.Jackson.It set the format for max performance in beat making.Every thing else comes after that .lol(peace)

  • @Diddddu Got Damn I love opinions & I am forced to agree since Roland backed out and stop making the MV.

  • @OverlorBeats Dont get me wrong I think the MV is better than the 5000.

  • i'm on the same page man can't wait till the mpc Renaissance drops

  • @blc01 Well gonna see what the smaller one looks like then make my decision on which one I will buy.

  • You cant make a symphony with a rubber band and a Kazoo...The MPC is part of music culture, just like the stratocaster, or the Fender Rhodes...The Renny is just the Akai company finally listening to US, the producers, and what we want...MIDI editing will be so much easier...moving whole sequences and writing songs will be easier...I Cant Wait For It TO DROP...

  • @strugglebuggietv Agreeeed..!!!

  • thank for speaking the knowledge of hip hop.

  • @joey4uable You welcome it is just hard to keep my mouth shut sometimes so I air it out glad you appreciate it.

  • 12:30

  • @overlorbeats yeah i was thinking of the same title lol was thinking either that or the wonder sessions or stevie sessons lol but i like the wonder years best. my homie fonzifree said he could do the cover as well i gotta come with some gensu chops for this as it is my specialty lol just fooling bro was my way of showing love to the crew u know

  • @noglesby1 No doubt I know a bunch of us are excited to be a part of this.

  • Bruh, I agree on all the points your stated. I was even excited when I saw the new mpc. Ill have to keep holding out on the maschine until then. To benefit from the comp.

As far as the stevie joint. Yeah, I'm gonna be in the lab for that. I actually, was already thinking that with all the other joints out right now. So, I'm expecting the crew to bring that fire to the table. I can't wait to get to work on it.

    Peace...Netm8kr

  • @Netm8kr Cool beans my man I will keep you posted when I decide which one and purchase it as for the Stevie Beat tape hell to the yeah can't wait to hear what everyone does.

  • my bro whats good fam im copping my mikro in about three weeks let me know what u think and i am kinda on the fence but i might peep the slim line once some info is available maybe in the fall if its out by then

  • @noglesby1 NI Maschine is a solid piece but a learning curve with navigation and functions. If Akai is on there game & the MPC controller has the sam or similar windows as the MPC the workflow should be alot better!! Not giving up my maschine though. So I hope this helps I think it is a good buy the NI Maschine Mikro!!

  • @OverlorBeats thanks fam i hit ur inbox with my contact info as well ill def be getting the mikro i was maily getting it for the vsti and portability but am always gonna be an mpc main at home in the lab lol

  • @noglesby1 I feel the same I think they will be out well before the fall. After winter Namm they tend to ship stuff and stores start getting there deliveries between Febuary and May. Make me guess I will say it will be in stores around the middle of March begining of April.

  • You have so much I agree with I can't even comment on it all! You summed it up around 16mins. I was blown away!

  • @Sinosure Thanks Big Man

  • Ha haaaa, "Bring your A game". You wild bruh. I love the whole Stevie Wonder concept. I think this will definitely bring out the best in us. I'm about to go out diggin' in a few. I only got about 3 or 4 Stevie records, so I want to see what else I can find. I was feelin' the beats playin' in the background (I got my headphones hooked up to the laptop). That Inspector Gadget joint is fire (nice old school feel to it).

  • @hillprop97 I would not be me Hill... if i did not act a lil bit craaazzzy...ya heard...lol. I am excited to hear what you bring to the table for that Stevie joint...That last beat you did "All They Did" I want that joint for real...would love to have that on my project. That makes me wanna dust of the microphone fo real.

  • u r a gear junkie O so you r def. gonna get it

  • @entyce66 No doubt it is so hard to resist...so much potential...what is one to do...lol

  • I totally agree with you on the roland topic because i've used most modern drum machines but the Roland MV was the best for me interns of work flow and i'm still waiting on them to come up with something new! With the MPC renaissance my personal thoughts on it, its too big and from what I've seen from the video it don't look like it can do much more then what what native instruments got to offer... But hey, they say it ain't what you got but how you use it!

  • @ooProduction True it ain't what you got but how you use what you got. The MPCR will be an interface as well it has direct ins & outs 4 midi outs 2 usb's so as far as the controller it has a lot more. I too hope Roland steps into the playing field. Akai will be making a smaller one.

  • I THINK IT'S BEST THAT THE NEWBIES DO IT 1ST SO THE LEGENDS CAN DO IT BETTER..EVEN THO THE OPPOSITE IS THE USUAL..

AS I STATED AND OTHERS AS WELL,THAT THE MPC RENAISSANCE IS THE FLAGSHIP INTERFACE CONTROLLER..

THEY HAVE THE MPC STUDIO WHICH IS A SLIMLINE VERSION OF THE RENAISSANCE THAT WILL BE THE DIRECT COMPETITOR TO NI MASCHINE..

I THINK THE RENAISSANCE WILL BE AROUND A GEE & THE STUDIO,WHICH COMES OUT AFTER THE RENAISSANCE I THINK SHOULD BE $500

  • @2020TYBO It has to do a ton of shit @ a $1000 price point and I mean some change the game type of shit too...cause as excited as I am about this it is still a controller interface when the day is done. Software, Control, Editing features, Classic MPC menus the ability to use this program from as a complete stand alone in terms that it allows you to Master and do all you need with only the need of VST's, but we shall see!!

  • @OverlorBeats..TRUE..I WAS GUESSTIMATING..I'VE WENT FROM $2000 TO $1300 TO $1000..MY MAIN THING IS THAT PEOPLE THINK THE RENAISSANCE IS GOING AFTER MASCHINE..BUT THE MPC STUDIO IS..THAT SHOULD BE THE $500 INTERFACE/CONTROLLER WITH AT LEAST 2 INPUTS/2 OUTPUTS PLUS MIDI I/O..THE RENAISSANCE IS LATE TO THE GAME (AND STILL COUNTING) BUT OFFERS IMPROVEMENT ON WHAT MASCHINE DOES..

BUT LIKE YOU SAID..IT'S STILL ONLY A INTERFACE CONTROLLER..

    I'M WORKING ON A NON-COMPUTER SET-UP..

    PEACE..

  • @2020TYBO I prefer a non computer set up but the computer gives you so many options thats why I like the MASCHINE and why I am excited about the MPCR if you can use it like hardware with the computer storage and the versatility that comes with computer Daws I am all for it.
