some of the city stuctures willnot last. but very cool pictures. I read some of the comments the concept of resource divided among everyone is dumb because it sounds like what the soviet union did. the earth by far is nowhere near over populated it seems like it in big cities but only there.
@krzintegraboi i don't think there's anything wrong with the resource based economy, and i don't think the soviet union had the same intentions as the venus project if you hadn't already i think you should watch the zeitgeist addendum movie
Facts and Statistics: - 1% of the population owns 40% of the world economy. - 1 Billion people die of starvation and preventable diseases per year ( U.N 2009.)
- African nations pay 15 thousand dollars per hour in interest to foreign banks.
If anyone thinks this is impossible i ask you to open your mind a bit, and expand beyond old belief systems and conditioning.
As the men behind the curtain try to sustain they're power and control over humanity, using this money system, the Revolution of the human heart is expanding and the powers that be will lose they're power, and the people will gain it back.
We as a people must take it back, without us the people, the mend behind the curtain have no power or control.
Nobody is going to be"forced" to do anything. Instead, people will be made aware of the carrying capacity of the earth and therefore recognize the fact that we must not exceed it. If you have a room thats maximum occupancy is 9 people, would it not be foolish to try to fit 30 people into it? Likewise, if you stop at a gas station to fill up your ten gallon tank, even if you "want" 15 gallons the tank can not accommodate it so it would make no sense to keep pumping. Does that make sense?
First of all, everyone who supports the idea that the Earth is overpopulated, immediately goes into the "suspicious nwo agent" category. I've never ever for a moment felt that any of our current problems we have as society come form overpopulation. That is a myth. There is plenty of room on Earth, it can accommodate not 6 but 600 billion people. The problem is that those who are in power determine what type of energy we are using. The majority of our problems stems from the usage of oil as energ
We are not saying the Earth is overpopulated. In fact we are saying that we have enough resources for everybody and that by applying the systems method to our city structures we can in fact increase the carrying capacity of the earth by quite a lot compared to what it currently is today....
It cannot accommodate that many people without seriously straining the environment and quality of life. Oil and it's derivatives is not only used for fuel, but for consumer items. Corporatism and imperialism is the end result of Capitalism in it's final stages. Capitalism respects no "progress", but the bottom line of profits. If it is done with cheap oil and plastics and planned obsolescence along with dumbed down assembly line labor and "human resources" it couldn't care less.
I ask again and hopefully someone will be able to explain to me - how exactly does a bunch of drawings of buildings that doesn't even exist yet equals to a great vision for the future of mankind?
It's inspiration and the reason why they don't exist yet is because people still haven't figured out that competition doesn't work. If you want to compete then go ahead and do it in the sports field, but not in the office or work site. There are some things in life that just isn't a sport like working together to build things, but people are still either too stupid or too selfish and greedy to figure that out.
Man, what a young and naive idealist are you. I'll tell you one thing - just watch the movie "Enemy at the gates". Listen carefully what the character of Joseph Fiennes (Commisar Danilov) has to say in the end and then come back to me when you understand it.
I understand perfectly what he said. I've watched the movie. Have you read the unabomber manifesto? Different person, same crap. Why was the soviets eventually able to win the war despite being faced with then the most technically advanced country in the world? Russia was barely out of the feudal era. There was no computers, no automation, factories were assembly line and labor intensive. However, they won the war with supposedly inferior technology.
The Soviet Union wasn't perfect. It wasn't anywhere near perfect and neither will the Venus Project be "perfect". Utopia is a loaded and meaningless term, but the only thing that improved the quality of life of people was science and technology. Despite losing a massive amount of infrastructure and manpower during the war and relying on a monetary system of paid labor which the Venus Project will surpass with a resource based economy, people had universal healthcare and was paid to go to school.
There is much more to The Venus Project than drawings of buildings. It is a comprehensive plan for social reclamation in which humans can co-exist with nature and technology in a sustainable state of equilibrium through the use of the scientific method used for human betterment with regard to the environment.
And who is going to force this "equilibrium" on the people and would it be all the people on Earth or just part of them? What will this mean in material terms - exactly, what house, what kind of food, what clothing, what travel expenses will be allowed to a person?
In the current system you can only get what you can afford - and the quality of the goods available today is very suspect. In The Venus Project everything will be made from the best possible materials and be made available to everyone for free. If you want a certain type of home it can be custom made to suit your needs. Nobody is going to dictate the type of home you have or the types of food you can eat. If anything you will have far more choices than you do now.
So, if we change the system now to "Venusianism" in 5 years everyone on Earth will have a huge property with a garden and house resembling a small palace? Do you honestly believe that? ok, lets give it some time then. 10 years. No? 20? 30? 50 years - and what are all the people without mansions doing until then. Just sitting there and being jealous?
I never said anything that you're assuming, and neither does anyone else who actually has taken the time to learn about The Venus Project and what it entails. It is not about everyone getting whatever they want. It is not about everyone having a palace in 5 years. That is just ludicrous. I highly suggest you watch the Zeitgeist Movement Orientation Guide (which available here on youtube) to grasp a better understanding of what it is we are advocating.
Ha ha, I'm just writing here, and what will your tell the masses when they start demanding their palace? People tend to accept things personally when someone robs them of their dream of having a palace. So we finally came to the fact that "it's not about everyone getting whatever they want". Basically, everyone will get whatever the ruling class decides we should get, right? A 10 square meter room and a gray jumpsuit, right? Keeps the expenditures low.
Mansions are more a symptom of the irrational gluttony of someone who wants shelter far bigger and lavish than what they can personally use. You want 10, 20 bedrooms for a family of 4 or 5 people? For what exactly other than to show off your ego and status? A rational economy and system has no use for ego, status, gluttony and other types of social pathologies.
You see, if you were a VP official, you'd be forcing a certain type of needed behavior on me. I want my mansion "Lara Croft" style. It's what I dream of and now it turns out I need to change my desires because the system cannot fulfill them. My dream of creating something beautiful like a huge mansion with a hedge maze is now an "irrational gluttony" Where does the system propose I should live? In a skyscraper with 10 000 more people and their crying babies? Screw that. I need space.
Space and privacy can be accounted for. That's the way I see it; others might not. Synthetically created materials/metamaterials will be quite insane. TVP's concept of abundance-producing mechanisms and gift giving is a very positive trait. Judging by your previous comments, you seem like a sane individual just trying to make sense of multiple proposed systems. Anyway, if that's really your dream, here's a crazy mansion to marvel over: sunshinemegatron[.]com[/]house[.]htm T-Shirt Hell founder
All societies are dictatorships in one way or another. The traffic system itself is a dictatorship. The "lowly" commoner that I am, I can't for example get special treatment if I get stuck in traffic and demand that everybody else get out of the way and run red lights like an ambulance driver. If I do then I will face the consequence of the police and judicial system and will expect no sympathy from the other commoners that follow the traffic rules.
Nobody is going to force this equilibrium. It's just proposed as an alternative after all irrational and emotional options are exhausted including war, genocide, starvation, epidemics, military dictatorships, concentration camps, etc... After people are truly finished and tired of decimating themselves in fruitless competition and violence resulting from their inability to control their passions then the scientific alternative can be proposed.
I don't see,why there should be any of those bad things if we have solid gold-backed currencies and countries weren't run by damned child-raping satanists. And instead of those same satanists creating money out of nothing, which they then give to other people (trustworthy friends) to open wallmarts, fast-food chains and buy real assets, any wealth should be gathered years after years, thanks to hard work, not usury and fractional reserve banking, Usury is the root of all bad things.
I used to feel that way too until I learned about Technological Unemployment and thought about how even with a fair currency we are still only as free as our purchasing power allows us to be. Also, having a gold backed currency doesn't solve anything when you realize the price of gold can be and is manipulated and controlled (not to mention it's scarcity - which again only perpetuates corrupt behavior).
@KchristianX I took a look at this video you link, but its full of bullshit.
Who made that crap, and where did the info come from?
Where does The Vensus Project say it will do this? - I will give you 1 million if you can show me Jaucqe Fresco or Peter J. saying anything close to this...
All the problems we have came from the fact that we had build megatructures, megacities, etc. This proposal is the same old song with an attractive new wrapping: from where they plan to bring the raw materials and energy to build such a massive structures?
Mankind should learn to live INTEGRATED with the Nature, and not to strive in creating a "New Nature". WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO IMPROVE WHAT NATURE HAS DONE. At least, in this ordinary mortal state.
Bravo! And they say tehnology will save us... No way! We as a human beings are the highest tehnology ever built! All we need to do is to discover ourselves! No robot can do that! Integrate with nature and establish harmony!
Human beings at this stage in our evolution should NO LONGER be worried about how to pay our rent...or will I have enough food to eat today? We should be beyond that by now. We HAVE the brain power to do that.
Everyday we live in our current system is an embarrassment.
Eventually engineers would get together and design a resource based city, allowing the homeless and middle class an alternative way of living. Once this happens capitalism will fail and everyone will soon think towards this new logic. Humanity will live on.
I can see the start of a downfall from anywhere to 3 years to 153 years. But a beginning for the new can at least start in that time as well. Either its got to crash or it will ultimately win control over the planet.
Sometimes, I think like that too, and it saddens me, so I try not to think like that. There is currently a petition for The Venus Project that I'm trying to convince everyone I know to sign. The goal of the petition is three million signatures, and there is currently under nineteen thousand signatures.
Yes, I've thought that too. There is a good chance we may not see any change toward the Venus Project within our lifetime. But our efforts now will definitely contribute to an eventual change. Our children or grandchildren may benefit from our effort.
But...with the coming economic collapse...who knows??
and how will it come? just by sitting on ur ass and wishing it will come? no, u must start doing smth yourself moron!! i am a student, 1st year, and i am already looking for any opportunity to help, in any way... for now, i just spread the word of the existence of such a movement... but in time... i will do more.. much more. if u have finished a college, or know people, start doing things!! build!! persuade people do to things! go for it!

By the way...where can I sign the petition?
