  • Nice engine... But i hate the looks of it. It looks just like what? a fukin' kia? Come on, a chevy is better than that. Give them a distinctive look.

  • Why are all countries ashamed to call this car a Holden. America calls them Chevies or a Pontiac. and Europe calls them Vauxhall. WHAT THE HELL!!

  • Sorry, that thing would not be as badass and intimidating as a Crown Vic tailing you. Can't ford creat a stronger Crown Vic?

  • too little too late. GM "government motors" should file for bankruptcy !!

  • I can't believe it has a floor shifter! First regular cop car I've seen with that!

  • Nice car, but it's still foreign. Police Departments should stick to Dodge Chargers. A large, rear drive, V8 platform, that's made right here in the USA.

  • @ExUSSailor because they are crap, first corner they see and they fall over and die..

  • @Kidis82 If you can turn, you're not going fast enough.

  • all these car company's are screwing up......they have taken out the Chevy caprice...now they are planning of taking out the crown vics...thats stupid the charger the impala and even the g8 are not as durable as the crown vics.... even though they look nice its all about performance

  • bring back pontiac turn that junk in

  • the chevy look makes it UGLY! GO PONTIAC!

  • the new ford cop car looks better to me

  • The last Chevy I liked was... uh... come to think of it... there isn't one....

  • Then why comment you tool

  • yep holden rules, crown vics r gettn dated with only 250hp, caprice has 380hp

  • @385921105 Dude the vic died off they come to an end in 2011

  • @385921105 Not to mention Ford's killing off RWD platforms. Except the Mustang, of course.

  • i have a 1996 caprice and i absolutly love that car, rear wheel drive, LT1 engine and an absolute huge B-body chassis made that car, they sat the same from 77-96, no reason to change a good thing other than it was dated, 350 V8 is the BEST hands down power plant linked to rear wheel drive for the cost, GM figured that out in the 60s its a shame the direction of the american auto market, but i still really want to test drive this new caprice, if traction control was not present and it had posi

  • @MustangRoush98 You do realise that on this Caprice, you can turn the traction control off if you want to. I see it as a shame that Holden, one of the smallest operations in the GM family, has to come in and show Chevrolet and Pontiac how to make muscle cars that handle. Holden NEVER made any front wheel drive, full sized cars. They were always RWD. I guess somebody saw the first Toronado and Holden engineers thought "We are NOT doing THAT!"

  • why doesent chevy give up. 1st mistake killing the caprice back in the 90's 2nd mistake bilding a 2wd tahoe that has been a dismal failure as a police package 3rd mistake building a front wheel drive impala and calling it a police car just small enough and useless enough to piss off the cops and now they unvail this turd. i love chevys but they eather need to get there heads on streight or just fuckin give up on the police market. all i can say is this car makes me love my crown vic eaven more

  • @cadddy1871 Turd? HAve you no taste, or isn't it ugly enough? This isn't a Chevy Caprice of old, this accelerates and handles a lot sharper than its American predecessor because it wasn't American designed or built. It's a rebadged Holden Caprice. All they did was essentailly strip all the pretty bits off a Holden Caprice, make it LHD and stick Chevy badges on it. A Crown Vic would have no hope of keeping up with it. Look up "WM Holden Caprice" to see what its parent looks like

  • @Mechknight73 im keepin my crown vic as long as i can, i loved the REAL caprice but when GM killed it they fucked up bad than to add insulit to injury 15 years latter they name the the ugliest thing they have made to date after a police legend. its stupid shit like this as to why GM is failing. oh and i dont care about police cars is other countrys cuz all of there cars look discusting as hell so why do i care about what the kangaroo fuckers in AUS drive for a squad

  • @cadddy1871 And you're an even bigger ignorant redneck than I though. I am Australian you arsehole

  • @Mechknight73 im sick of import shit. this car will not work as a squad here cuz it doesent have the room you need for all the gear that goes in a squad. not to mention the CVPI has an intimadating look unlike this austrailian turd

  • @cadddy1871 Ford is screwing themselves this time more than chevy with their cars not being RWD, and only a V6, well a powerful v6 but that doesn't match a v8 any day.

  • @cadddy1871

I'm sorry, but this car would kill your Crown Vic any day. It's a proven police package that has been in service for years in Australia & New Zealand. If you like boats, I suggest you join the Coast Guard.

  • ive driven police cars for 15 years now. i know a good squad when i see one. this isint it

  • @therealeskay lol well said.

  • @cadddy1871 why do you think the police caprice is a fail?

  • This car has been used by police around the world for years. Check out the video response...

  • Isnt the impala supose to be better than caprice. The impala we have now is more like a reincarnation of chevys old lumina and lumina 9C3. I bet this car is as fast as a G8 which is still obtainable but I think the G8 looks better especially by the C pillar. Gm has a problem naming thier cars! stupid marketing schemes wheres thier heritage.

  • The Caprice is the old Pontiac G8 GT. You'll see many of the design cues from the Pontiac in this car.

  • wow. i wonder where you got that, maybe the title?

  • @BimmerM5e39 There some simple answers as to why Chevy calls this one Caprice. Firstly, this is the name this car was born with in its native Australia. Makes it just that little bit cheaper to not have to rebadge and retrim. Second of all, they're trying to invoke the legend of the old Caprice. The Impala is FWD, this is RWD, and all it really has in common with the old Caprice is the name and the engine

  • nice police car

  • The car weighs over 4000 pounds! For it to be a viable police car it'd need at least a twin turboed V6 and thats not likly. A turbo 4 would be useless.

  • It's a V8 plently of torque to turn the wheels this is just a Holden with the flashing lights on top.

The Holden cop cars only do 220KPH/143MPH for the standard

    and

260KPH/161MPH for the high pursuit cars.

  • @converseprintjb Not this one! more like 3700 pounds tops. Remember, Chevrolet didn't build this, GM Holden did. In its basic stock form, as a Holden Caprice, it will do 0-60 in less than 8 seconds. And that's a natuarally aspirated V6. All GM did to these from a Holden Caprice was change some badges and trim, and put all the police gear on them. Look up "WM Caprice" to see what I mean

  • now a police camaro would be more like it...

has anyone seen state patrol chargers? those things are bad arse...

  • Illinois and Texas have had Chargers for some time.

  • Look elsewhere on YT. There are already some videos of Police Camaros showing up in the build stages by some of the big outfitters.

  • Now we actually need something fast in order to get away. Just watch, they'll sell them as normal cars in no time.

  • you know something is wrong when a Caprice is faster than the Impala SS...not to mention the fact that the Impala is still front wheel drive.

  • they should have made the caprice a fwd luxury oriented chevy, while making the impala the rwd muscle car it was bread to be. not to mention the 50th anniversery of the SS comeing up.

  • @ChevyImpalaMan90 I watched a review of the '91 Caprice, and was amazed at just how retro it was. Rear drum brakes, standard live axle, and only 175 HP from a 5 litre V8. Its Australian equivalent, the Holden Caprice, is a 250hp 5 litre, has independent rear suspension, ABS discs on all 4 wheels. I'll admit they look good, but wished they'd tried a little harder. Holden have never made a fullsized FWD anything The stats I'm quoting are if you didn't ask for any optional extras

  • Nice One tire fire there at the beginning.

  • i cant wait to buy one at police auction!!!

  • its the Holden Caprice.. different car than that of the Pontiac G8 aka the Holden Commodore..

  • but its the same chassis of the g8 and camaro

  • yeah I think its called the Zeta Platform..

  • The G8 out handles the Camaro due to the longer wheel base. It also rides better and has more room.

  • @GndPrxRcr LWB, some differences in rear bodywork, but yes, essentially the same car

  • @Mechknight73 Yeah the rear end looks like the current Chevy Impala.

  • @GndPrxRcr Although Holden built it this way independent of any US model. Look up "WM Holden Caprice" to see what the donor car looks like. All they did was strip off the tinsel and some of the luxury features of the Holden Caprice. They had features like full power leather seats, DVD screens with wireless headphones in the headrests, and a nice set of alloy wheels

  • @Mechknight73 I know what the Holden Caprice is.. if you look a few comments up you would see I already stated that!
