the "silver thing" isn't a resistor, it's a crystal oscillator that allows this mod to be done without a chip. newer controllers don't have these because microsoft doesn't like modders, so if you don't have the oscillator, you're out of luck for the no chip version of this mod

I have been using my rapid fire controller for about a year and then out of the blue it stopped working! i dont know if i did something to do it. The wires are fine, the LED is fine but the right trigger doesnt work. The push button only shoots a single bullet but only when the button is released. I think there is something wrong with the right trigger but i dont know what.
