You can't put Rakim above KRS ONE, well you can't do it and be right. KRS' body of work > Rakim. KRS' best > Rakim's best. KRS' worst > Rakim's worst. Plus, more varied flows, deliveries, subject matter, battle rapper that actually ended careers, etc...

ALright can someone that really understands hip hop and the format, the literary devices and so on explain to me (not one of these blind followers) how KRS is better than Nas? @RKG5A5 KRS spits real solid lyrics - like nas, but the difference is that KRS speaks from an observers point of view, hence the opinionated rhymes on violence, drugs and lyricism. Nas rhymes from experience - and u know that hes seen his fair share of drama... Both are confident rhymers and have their own style so u cant really compare the too but KRS has put his work in and is probably 10 years nas' senior. Gotta give the man respect...
I just dont like his flow, i feel like its primitive...but yeah respect is owed to him he's a legend...I just feel like lyrically people praise him a lil too much...b/c i feel like Rakim and Kool G Rap are better than KRS....especially Rakim. B/c KRS has a few solid punchlines or witty phrases every now and then laced inside of his barbaric flow...while Rakim is just droppin straight knowledge the whole time with a smooth flow, with plenty of internal rhymes...but i feel ya preciate it

I disagree, Rakim has fallen off in the past 5-10 years. Look at "The Seventh Seal" for example. He's just past his prime, Nas on the other hand is still dominating the game regardless of his age. Plus in my opinion, "Illmatic" is better than any Rakim album. But regardless Rakim in my opinion is the second greatest MC of all-time behind Nas.

I disagree, Rakim has fallen off in the past 5-10 years. Look at "The Seventh Seal" for example. He's just past his prime, Nas on the other hand is still dominating the game regardless of his age. Plus in my opinion, "Illmatic" is better than any Rakim album. But regardless Rakim in my opinion is the second greatest MC of all-time behind Nas.

@TheEcstatic23 Hmm well i gotta say that's debatable because i learned alot off Ra than Nas. Both taught me something well in the hip hop game because i too am a MC and so when i look at Emcees i look at the past because the present is dark and were at the dark ages in Hip Hop but yes i do agree on one thing you did say, and that was that he has fallen off a bit. but Nevertheless for me Ra fits the bill being one most emcees bring homage to.
