I bought a 50ins LG plasma in November 2007, the plasma is less than 3 years old and is already broken, further more we hardly even use it!!!!

@MARIACLASS Get a panasonic - I bought mine from a panasonic shop as they come with 5 year warrenty. It was cheaper than amazon. Funny really as i only went into shop to see it working but buy it from amazon. LOL

I just dumped my old LG plasma ,the sus boards had a designfault that LG refused to own up to plus they don't have any service or repair centres in my country ,they send the set to britain.

LG sets look lovely but if something goes wrong out of warranty,your left with a giant paperweight as their customer service is complete sh*te!

I bought my first LG 42" 5 years ago. After 1 year and 10 month (in fron of end of warranty) was fired some chip and screen turn off. Service guys changed me 3 electronic blocks inside by warranty (absolutely charge free), and said good by!

I'm looking for next 60" TV now - my dream was PDP 6090, but those guys over and next screen would be LG...

Nothing personal, just life choice..

i bought this tv at costco for 2200 (canadian) and its true that the black levels are not as hardcore as samsungs but im very happy with this tv. I found it stupid that the tv was being shown in stores with the power saving thing on (pic not as bright and nice) And the display settings were not put so that the image is super nice. But i messed around with the options and made it nice :)

If you play games and watch films in high def than this tv is for you, if your just watching normal tv then maybe consider something a little cheaper/smaller. I dont know anything about the samsung so cant help you there, if you've got the money and want something to show off, buy it!!
