We were the deciding factor of WW2. Without us in the war, Britain would have been over run by the Germans, and the end of the free world would follow soon after. Nobody had the military prowess or technology to compete with Germany, besides us and Russia. Everybody else was much worse off. Without the U.S attacking from the west, Russia would have been decimated.
I can't debate the cold war one though. Russia held the war in quite alot of fear.
There is one problem though. By the time the Allies invaded Western Europe the USSR was closing in on Berlin. How would the United Kingdom been overrun exactly? The Luftwaffe had failed during the Battle of Britain. Even if the Luftwaffe had succeed, Great Britain still had the Royal Navy. The RN greatly outnumbering the Kriegsmarine would have stopped any cross channel invasion. Even the Battle of the Atlantic was unclear.
well without the US, then Germany would have u boats all over the channel. Russia was very poorly equipped in the early part of the war. The lend-lease act gave tons of much needed supplies to the Red Army. That and the T-34, gave Russia the advantage

Yes, but you are neither a statesman or a military man. You do know that its quite possible more lives would've been lost if the Americans had to invade Japan the old fashioned way? They would have had to beat the Imperial japanese out, city by city, any idea how many civilians that would've killed? Far more than 140 000.

that 140,000 civian lifes is nothing to be celebrating. and yes an invation would have been tragic, but an invation would of killed almost all souldiers with not many innnocent civilians. and its still a loss, but its a danger that they have in mind when they sign up for the military........ and not to mention that the effects of the bomb are still felt today with children born with birth defects because of a war dat happened before they were born

most important for the last hundred years? they've been a super power that long, but not the most important. WWII, they certainly weren't. It was probably germany, also the russians actually defeated germany it wasnt the americans. Cold war... it was equal, until america run, then its economy took out the world, and all its propaganda along with in.. then 9/11, and the super power is now in decline.

The video does have an American tilt, yes.
We were the deciding factor of WW2. Without us in the war, Britain would have been over run by the Germans, and the end of the free world would follow soon after. Nobody had the military prowess or technology to compete with Germany, besides us and Russia. Everybody else was much worse off. Without the U.S attacking from the west, Russia would have been decimated.
I can't debate the cold war one though. Russia held the war in quite alot of fear.

There is one problem though. By the time the Allies invaded Western Europe the USSR was closing in on Berlin. How would the United Kingdom been overrun exactly? The Luftwaffe had failed during the Battle of Britain. Even if the Luftwaffe had succeed, Great Britain still had the Royal Navy. The RN greatly outnumbering the Kriegsmarine would have stopped any cross channel invasion. Even the Battle of the Atlantic was unclear.

well without the US, then Germany would have u boats all over the channel. Russia was very poorly equipped in the early part of the war. The lend-lease act gave tons of much needed supplies to the Red Army. That and the T-34, gave Russia the advantage

xratedpenguin, i agree that most 'villians' in the world believe they are doing what is 'right'. however my point is that we need to get AWAY from doing what is 'right' by force. Hitler's ideas of 'right' certainly were not right for jews, gays, and gypsies. The problem may lie in a too narrow view of what is 'right' The bottom line is that EVERYONE has the right to be included in this vision of what is right for the country, everyone who shares in the broad view..not a narrow exclusive view.

I suppose, If you had unlimited upload cap., a 30 minute dedication to mankind at it's greatest and most evil would be an epic watch just as well. I would still watch it, no matter the length, it's good to remember the past - to build our future.
