true true, first c&c cut scenes were little "clumpsy" compared to these, but at least ra 1 had cutscenes had more serious tone in it. acting was not the best but good enough. sure it had too some foolish scenes like stalin dancing, but i guess i would dance too if i would conquer europe.

I was quite put off by the overly cartoonish tone of Red Alert 2 (although I still played it through) and unfunny hamming from some of the cast members like the Russian Premier, although Udo Kier (Yuri) and Barry Corbin (General Carville) were good value.

i think that ra 2 expansion had more humorious cutscenes than original ra 2. i just liked the originals missions, i mean destroying usa as soviets was good fun, espicially when you get those news reports from different countries and worlds map getting red after each mission

I've revisited Red Alert, and I'm sorry to say I found the cutscenes rather tedious to sit through (of course it's not the first time I've seen them). They were directed by the bloke who played Kane and it's like he didn't know how to pace a scene properly, each cutscene could do with being at least 30-60 seconds shorter. Also the low resolution is very, very noticeable now. I guess being 10 years older and no longer a kid makes a big difference too. The game itself is still good though.

guess im too nostalgic but i liked ra 1 cutscenes. espiclially soviets, that guy who played stalin was pretty good. and i liked it that actually somenthing happens in those cutscenes, like backstabbing, tea which makes you die on the table. but in ra 3 its just like "this is your mission: destroy soviets and then watch this officer who wears mini skirt"

but i guess what made soviet cutscenes best was that friking map at their back! when i was a kid i found that awesome, and still do
