  • Great work! If we had started to drill like the Republican's wanted to 4 years we would be basking in the abundance now.

  • Youth for oil. You might as well call your group young idiots. Why continue to pollute the environment when there are cleaner for efficient ways to make energy. Why keep paying the oil companies when we could create and industry around clean energy. An industry that would create new jobs and new technology that we can EXPORT to the rest of the world at a great profit. Your parents are steering you wrong kid. Hopefully in time you will learn to think for yourself.

  • You rock! It really makes me smile to see kids that haven't been brainwashed into the liberal thought train and are actually standing up for valid issue that affect our National Security rather than issues that destroy out National Security!

You should start a non-profit, this way people can donate to your cause!

Keep up the great work - I'm very proud! This is a awesome experience for you and maybe we will see you, in a few years, running for a political office! Best of Luck!

  • Of all of those, the key ingredient is an emergency lifting of the bans and encouraging rapid increases in domestic crude oil and natural gas production. Without a significant increase in domestic production any reduction in the SPR is dangerous and should be carefully evaluated.

  • A sane compromise is a measured release of the SPR in return for a lifting of domestic drilling bans. The release/depletion of the SPR could occur over the period until the first oil started to flow, a couple of years. The lifting of the ban, a release of 20%-40%, along with supporting practical alternatives like increasing electric cars, liquefaction of our vast coal deposits, more coal for electricity, would collapse the price to where it was a few years ago, about $21 a barrel.

  • A release of 10% would reduce the SPR to around 52 days, no where near enough in a true emergency. If not combined with other measures the price of oil would rebound and we would have less reserve.

  • Al Gore is a lying sack of shit and a master propagandist. It was proven and reported in a 20/20 documentary (20/20 is far from conservative) that the photographs of the ice caps were exactly the computer generated ones used in the move "The Day after Tomorrow". The graphic artist who did the virtual images for the movie confirmed that Gore used the identical fake photos in his propaganda piece "An Inconvenient Truth (Lie)" They put them side by side on a split screen and they were the same!

  • You got to meet Sean Hannity! Now I wish I could've come.

  • the data is in various science magazines/articles/research even al gore has been forced to awkwlodge such findings such as the hurricane cycle not being bc of climate change again responding by gtelling everyone im accepting talking points from the pres who has believed in man-made n such is y conservatives r mad at him on this issue and on a news station shows how lil credibility u really have on this sucject sry but ur THEORY is being dismantled every day

  • Good job, kid! When I was your age, I was playing with my Star Wars figures!

  • Kids, you are seriously in some deep doo-doo. You know that the denial industry was funded by Exxon and pushed by the Bush Admin, right? This is FACT, not partisanship. FACT. Recent study: 90% of denialists? Politicized. But, you're right. Mommy and Daddy know more about the Earth's systems than, oh, say, James Hansen.

Keep up the good fight! You'll be on Rush soon. Maybe he'll share his drugs with you so your head doesn't hurt so bad when it slams into the brick wall of denial.

  • kkob, what are you using in place of gas, oil and electricity? What kind of house do you live in? If we cut back our use of oil drastically and become a second or third rate power do you really think it will help the rest of the world? Do you really want all the Communists, dictators, Marxists etc. to have free reign? That is what you and the leaders of the No-Oil-For-The-US environmentalists are working for? Thanks to these boys and others for trying to keep our economy and the USA strong.

  • kkob is a kool-aid drinker he wont look at facts and just sits there repeating over n over again: "manmade global warming is real, who cares about the gas prices" its pathethic

  • What are you driving these days or are you running everywhere? Are you living in a mud hut? Come down from your soapbox you self-righteous liberal. How do you explain the end of all the ice ages if man is totally responsible for the 1 degree increase in temperature? It's certainly not warming up where I live.

  • Man made global warming is a fools religion...

  • Yes it is, and those fools that subscribe to this Godless religion are all LIBERALS!

  • Even if you do believe the hype that we will run out of oil in 50 years (btw we were warned in the 60's that we would run out of oil by the year 2010.) The current ban on drilling in our own shores does not prevent the inevitable. That being that we *will* eventually run out of oil. The fact is that there is *a lot* of speculation about how much actual retrievable oil exists. In fact that is irrelevent because we need oil, plain and simple. Whether we run out in 50 years or 100 doesntmatter

  • Pickens plan + drill at home + build nuclear power plants + invest in solar + more = energy independence. Notice i did NOT mention E85 ethynol.(It's bullshit)

  • like his shirt says: WHERES MY OIL?

can u tell me where it is nancy pelosi? mrs. 9% approval rating?

  • u do realize while pickens has a great plan himself hes also for drilling until we get alt. fuels right? plus id listen to kids if the countrys willing to listen to some clown whos endorsed by terrorist (kerry, obama) ;-)

  • Great Video!!

    Five Stars!!

  • Great job guys! What a great civics lesson! Education in action.

  • thanks for clearin that up. and i agree with you. the whole system appears to be bought out, i am libertarian, they stand for low taxws and personal responsibility, but they will never get anywhere cause people thesedays think the goverment should take care of all their needs

  • sorry for the typo*

  • a very sad video. shows how we are trained to just eat the shit they feed us, without questioning it. use your brains kids! mccain is corrupt, despotic, and not very smart to boot. now why on earth would anyone in their right minds want more years of that? i could see why someone who is extremely wealthy and very greedy would want mccain, but you kids don't look like either of those things.

  • so if you vote for obama you're not a sheep?

  • not necessarily. just because the lightbulb goes on for many people at the same time does not make them sheep. it's when the lightbulb NEVER goes on that worries me.

  • Most of them are criminals on both sides... some are better than others at hiding it thought :( That's the game that has to be played, I guess.

  • Haha, the comments are hilarious.

The Liberals are angry that they haven't corrupted all the younger kids out there.

Keep it up, boys. The world needs more intelligent, young conservatives.

  • Drilling for oil will do nothing if we don't have refineries. I love the direction you are taking as a young man. Just remember they taught you Vietnam was about communism, it wasn't. The Civil War was about slavery, it wasn't. 9-11 was an inside job.

  • Congrats jerk. You can rail against a couple of kids.

  • Shut up.

  • "for security reasons. It's been that way since 9/11"

I wonder who wrote this script....

  • I did - apparently you haven't seen too many intelligent 13 year olds in your life. Really - it isn't rocket science. The policewoman said 'for security reasons, it's been that way since 9/11" and I reiterated her statement.

Now am I speaking slowly enough for you?

  • We guess it's obvious that we have been targeted by a bunch of Liberals sitting in their basements (probably in their underwear) who know nothing about National Security. So far the only argument anyone has given is what is heard daily on the news - in other words - general idiocy!

It's funny how most of you have no videos of your own or pictures of yourselves on your pages - a telltale sign of left wing plants making minimum wage to pick on kids.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.tsk tsk

  • -I'm a moderate independent with: -fiscal conservative values -social/ethical liberal values -governmental libertarian values

-and I have a picture (though a very ugly and lame one D:) on my page

    please don't lump us together

    "tsk tsk"? ok...

  • That's why we said 'most' not all.

  • Damn you're good! Since I don't feel like giving you substantial arguments right now (tres tired, and others have and probably will continue to refute you) I'll concede here :) Take care.

  • You idiot kids. Do yourself a favor, and turn off your TV.

  • By your attitude, you seem like a selfish liberal. Do yourself a favor and actually be nice.

  • Again folks... speculators (who also invest in oil and make money from it unlike commerical speculators) determine the price.

The volume of oil traded "on paper" (what they claime we use) has been as high as 22 times greater than the volume of oil we have actually consumed.

A group of guys with towels on their heads somewhere in the middle east have nothing to do with it.

  • Oh...and by the way, when the oil is pumped out of the ground it will belong to the big oil company not YOU!!!

  • All this video proves is that the Rebooblican party has no shame and will exploit anyone including our kids. The arguments for drilling in

ANWAR can't stand on their own and you can't prop then up with a kid reading off cue cards....poorly.

  • My money went down the hole of a Democrat majority, who wish to see oil prices remain high, because they want to appease the green lobby. The Dems are a no growth, extreme left party now. Oil futures today fell another 4 dollars, the "market speculators" are predicting that the Dems will lose the oil battle, to the G.O.P Look at what Harry Reid did yesterday. And yes some of the oil will be sold on the global market The capital that will be made from it's sale, will come back to the U.S market.

  • "My money went down the hole of a Democrat majority"

So.. the Dems took your gas money?

""market speculators" are predicting that the Dems will lose the oil battle"

Why would speculators jack up the price for a congress that would want to bring demand DOWN?

If speculators went on supply/demand as they say, then it would do jusyt the opposite.

LOL. You people don't even see this do ya?

  • Oil prices didn't go apeshit until after Nancy Pelosi and her fellow commies took over congress.

  • "Oil prices didn't go apeshit until after Nancy Pelosi and her fellow commies took over congress."

    Again, explain WHY and HOW.

If Dems want to use LESS oil, then how can you blame them?

Did Republican congress do anything when THEY held more seats?

I can't believe how gullible people are. LOL

If oil companies wanted to drill here, how do you think they would go about getting that?

  • Come on, you know how this works, Supple and Demand and future prospect. The Dems increased the cafe on cars killing allot of autos domestic and foreign. They speculated that ethanol among some other alternatives, can carry our economy, which it could not. It made food prices more expensive and created more inflation, on other goods and services. The effect is a ripple in the market while OPEC kills us. All the while China, India and Brazil all "emerging markets" demand more oil. {Energy!}

  • "The effect is a ripple in the market while OPEC kills us."

Are you even aware of who OPEC is? How are they killing us if they are not the determining factor on demand? They are the SUPPLY.

"All the while China, India and Brazil all "emerging markets" demand more oil."

Of course they are. Do you want to be stuck in the oil market when their demand gets even HIGHER?

We will be right back where we are!

Drilling will TIE us to that market. Demand less and use more alternatives!

  • OPEC {the Arab oil cartel} don't determine demand, but the control the supply, of course. And if they see us leaving as customer they will have to back down. But they also know by the most optimistic outlook. That the Western world will not be fully independent of oil, for at-least another 20 years. So we must build on our technologies while also drilling for oil.... Because capital will lead to more innovation, as well as a future with new alternatives. The Democrats however miss this point.

  • "but the control the supply, of course. And if they see us leaving as customer they will have to back down."

    Leaving as a customer? LOL.

#1, we could NEVER supply all of own oil because we use way more than what we could produce.

#2, Again, if Dems use less oil, then why did prices go up?

#3, (most importantly) THEY DO NOT DETERMINE THE PRICE so what do you even mean "back down"?

    YEESH!

  • "the Western world will not be fully independent of oil, for at-least another 20 years"

I dare you to show what energy development and exploration scientist has said or even suggested that.

I will also write you a $500 check if you can prove there is a shortage of oil in Saudi Arabia.

    Good luck.

  • There is no shortage of oil ... they are merely limiting the supply. OPEC is comprised of countries who do not look favourably upon the USA.

  • If we truly wanted to bring the price of gas down, then we would build additional refineries. This would allow us to refine the oil into gasoline and other products much faster and more efficiently. You can bring in all the barrels of oil in the world, but without new refineries, we will still be producing the same amount of gasoline as we are now. We are consuming more than can be refined each day, therefore, the supply and demand is basically out of whack.

  • Well god damn! it's about time! And am glad to see that some of the young people, are getting involved with such an important subject like, energy independence. Nancy Pelosi will not let the energy bill come up for a vote, because she's against drilling for oil at home. She says she's trying to save the planet. Save our way of life Nancy! Get out of the way, of the American people!!! Vote against these people in November, including Obama, and the Democrats who are stifling our energy prospects.

  • "because she's against drilling for oil at home. She says she's trying to save the planet"

She never said it was about saving the planet. Democrats are against more drilling because it's not going to help anything and it wont be just OUR oil.

Ask yourself this, if it's a mater of just putting more oil on the market... then why did prices go up when Saudi Arabia started to produce more and agreed prices were being gouged?

    Doesn't add up.

  • Democrats will never drill for oil save a few who care. However, oil prices have started to drop ever since the president, and couple of other prominent figures have expressed a desire to drill. But I see that some Democrats have been saying oil prices will not go down if we drill. Meanwhile China, Russia, Brazil and even some Euro countries are drilling for oil. Finally after years of being dormant the American public is starting to feel the urge to drill. And guess what, OPEC is scared now!

  • "oil prices have started to drop ever since the president expressed a desire to drill."

If threat of more oil on the market drops prices, why didn't they drop when Saudi production went up?

"Meanwhile China, Russia, Brazil and even some Euro countries are drilling for oil"

Um, yea... the same oil we are using. Oil doesnt belong to who drills it.

    "OPEC is scared now!"

Scared of a 3% increase? OPEC AGREES prices are gouged. Blame overspeculation and ask where your money went!

  • "Where is my brain?... my pandering parents haven't explained to me that just because we drill the oil it wouldn't make it our oil and that it all goes on the same global market.

They wont tell me that oil independence is a myth if you are a country that imports about everything it uses."

  • All thats missing is a "Leave it to Beaver soundtrack" and Exxon Mobile credits rolling at the end of this political shtick.

What a corrupt state of affairs the American political system has become!

  • Poor kid. He doesn't undrestand the issues. He could become more informed though by going to REPUBLICAN Senator Roscoe Bartletts home page & downloading information about peak oil. He could read up on why we cannot drill our way out & he could begin preparing for his own future, when the oil will run out, perhaps in ten years.

Hopefully America will be safe with reserves of scarce oil both offshore, in ANWR & in the strategic oil reserve. We must remain strong at the end of the age of oil.

  • This kid's family is a part of the republican elite. Othewise, he wouldn't be meeting all of the high-ranking dick heads he mentions.

Why is this a featured video? I imagine Youtube is either open to bribes, seeks to be 'fair and balanced' like FOX, or is a part of the spy machine set up by Bush.

How do we know that personal information isn't given to the CIA? Said something negative about Cheney? Do you feel safe? I don't.

And I fear the dumb child in the video is a new Hitler Youth.

  • Quit ranting against a kid. You sound like a loon.

  • My congratulations for getting involved in the public debate. Please learn the lesson that there are plenty of people who like to complain, as you can see by their comments. But very few have the brains and energy to act. Pay no attention to them. Keep up the active public involvement! I'm proud of you.

  • The kid is not debating. He is reading something daddy told him to read. Debate involves thinking. If this kid had a thought it would be lonely.

  • Get a life! The young man is learning a bit of civics. And so what if his father is helping? It's what parents do with their kids. And so what if he's reading something? The candidates do it all the time. It's called using a teleprompter.

  • The economy is tanked. There's nothing left. China owns America. The liberals are loony. The conservatives are crazy. Obama is really a Scientologist. McCain is really 87. Let's delete history and start over. Let's all go back to England and give back this mess to the Indians.

  • what is this shit?

  • Why is this right wing bullshit featured?

  • Maybe this shit is featured because it says something very scary about Youtube.

  • Hey, kid. If you ever meet Larry Craig or Ted Haggart, don't chant 'Drill now! Drill now!', because you'll be in for a big surprise.

  • I have a comment .. ride your bicycle to soccer practice that will save some oil! Maybe get the rest of the U.S.A to begin production of light rail in every community. Mass transportation is what the average good citizen should and must do ! Junk your cars It's just a burdensome archaic status symbol that's going the way of the dinosaur!

  • Unfortunately, you boys don't know enough about this topic. Youth for Oil? More drilling? The government itself says oil from Alaska and the coasts will change price by PENNIES... in 10 to 15 years. Oil production decline rates are four times what you will ever get out of Alaska and the coasts... PER YEAR. Learn about Peak Oil, boys. Someone has brainwashed you.

  • Youth mimic their role models. This sounds like a product of poor mom

  • This kid is worse than McCain trying to read a teleprompter. "Drill Here, Drill now." is a horrible idea that will do nothing to lower gas prices and will delay the time when we actually begin seriously investing in renewable and alternative energy sources.

  • watch a nerdy kid hip-hop dance to Usher. HAHA.trust me, u'll laugh. look at my channel.

comment 30 times to win an 3G iphone! hurry!

    SUB4SUB SONNN...walrus blubber. yum.

  • you turds cant even drive...?

  • Wow... So many things to say... I wish I could say that you are doing a great job for involving yourself in a cause you believe in, but unfortunately this seems like your conservative parents are forcing specific ideologies on you without you having any real idea about what goes on in the real world.

It is definitely obvious you are reading from lines that your parents are feeding you.

I just hope you will not be close minded to different ideas due to your parents influence. Good luck.

  • Brilliant people with no class are leaving profane comments and insults on the vid of TWO UNDERAGE KIDS.

Thank you for showing us what "intellectuals" you all are.

YouthForOil, you should BLOCK people who are cursing at you. That's my 2 cents. YT made that feature for a good reason, and I can't think of many that are better than children having a right NOT to be exposed to profanity from adults who should know better.

  • DRILL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey little paid kid- 9/11 was an inside job.. you're future is going to be messed up beyond perception by the people you're endorsing.

  • Hey you little fucking shit kids and your awful deadbeat parents how about once in your life you start thinking about humanity as one part of the fucking planet instead of not giving a shit about the entire ecosystem which is the only thing that gives you your shitty KFC meals? If we just went along and drilled Alaska we would kill millions of animals and in return for what?! A 2 year delay of the inevitable? So listen 'Jewel' little androgyny, go tell your idiot parents to stop watching FOXNews

  • isnt jewel a girl name

  • who cares?!

  • Let's drill the shit out of those coasts.

    -E. Xxonmobil.

  • 000

  • If these little morons are the future - god help us all.

  • Ok the fact that you're proud to be seen with Hannity is just sad.

How about asking the oil companies why they don't drill on the millions of acres they already have? How about asking the oil companies why they don't re-open the refineries they've shut down?

  • "Ok the fact that you're proud to be seen with Hannity is just sad"

--The fact that you hate Sean Hannity is sad. He promotes truth, balance, and patriotism. And you're against him.

"How about asking the oil companies why they don't drill on the millions of acres they already have? How about asking the oil companies why they don't re-open the refineries they've shut down"

--How about you ask Congress why they can't drill there and why those refineries have been shut down?

  • Guess what kid? 9/11 Was an inside job, brought to you by the very same guys who hired you.

  • Need a tin-foil hat?

  • I said many times and I say again here for all you SHEEP AIR-HEAD DUMB PUNK WORKING TRASH AMERICANS..the TRUE reason OIL price is high is because of the corrupted Bush administration intentionally devalued the U.S dollar. Most of world oil selling and buying is in dollar..when the dollar value droped you need more dollars to buy the same amount of oil.The reason dollar going down, mad INFLATION is because corrupted Bush printed new money like toilet papers to finance the Iraq and Afghan wars

  • "WORKING TRASH AMERICANS"

--You're a piece of shit Liberal elitist who likes telling the "little people" what to do and what to think. You make me sick.

"the TRUE reason OIL price is high is because of the corrupted Bush administration intentionally devalued the U.S dollar."

--And I suppose you have proof of this conspiracy. Care to share it with us?

"corrupted Bush printed new money like toilet papers "

--And that's different from what other Presidents did before him.....how?

  • Maybe Eddie Thundercloud DOES have the right answer to the border issue, among other things! (a "magical wall of corn.") haha!

If you get a chance, do a search here at YouTube for Eddie Thundercloud. Watch the 5+ minute video that has all three commercials. Kinda funny!

Goodnight all. Once again, youthforoil, it's good to see you're taking an active role! Wish you were on the CORRECT side, tho! haha!

  • It's clear that there is no easy answer to this problem. Opening up ANWR to drilling would probably be the best move, as far as sending a signal to the other OPEC nations, but the right OR left won't be truthful about the environmental impact. If drilling were the answer, the oil companies would be doing it where they can now, but they're not!

The only thing I DO know is that neither side will give "We, the people..." the truth! Maybe the leaders of "the New World Order" will decide.

  • @ dialco ~

Well, since Russia claimed the North Pole as their territory last year, they are proceeding on with their plans to drill in the Artic Shelf.

This will be tapping into the same pockets of oil that we are tapping into on the North Shore.

    So the race is on.

Russia's first ice-resistant deep drilling rig is scheduled to be launched in 17 months.

And those oil leases that the Oil companies are 'not drilling on' are mostly worthless from what I have heard.

  • Let me clarify something too. I was trying to point out a hypocrisy earlier.

Personally, I think it's stupid to tap into the SPR. But if one takes MY stance, which is, "Pull in ALL of our troops from overseas, seal off our borders, stop buying every other countries goods, use our own oil, drilling wherever we need to to do that, but still work towards alternatives, etc., then you get called an Isolationist, which the right hates too! For a time, let's see how the world gets along without us!

  • @ dialco ~

Hey, I would love it if we could become isolationists.

But we can't even seem to build a fence on our southern border!

And we have thousands of miles of coastline, too.

Isolationism is not necessarily a left or right thing...there are many on both sides who feel this way.

But, unfortunately it is even more elusive than the water-powered car.

  • SeekerNLife,

You seem like a very intellectual person! Not using profanity, and not resorting to name-calling in any of your postings... nice to see!

Anyway, why would we restore at TODAY'S prices? And are you aware that they're only talking about using 700,000 barrels; We have about 707 million of a max. capacity of 727 million barrels on hand in the Reserve. I don't KNOW if it would have ANY impact, but one can't hype the benefits of "perceptions", and ignore this issue!

  • @ dialco ~

Very well, let's talk about 'perceptions'.

With regard to 'perceptions' in the FUTURE Supply...

That is what is governing the Oil Trading Market, and today's prices.

Selling off a portion of the SOR would have the reverse effect on the Market Price, since it is common knowledge that whatever is taken out, would have to be replaced at some point.

So it would actually do more harm than good to deplete any portion of the SOR.

  • When will we be able to use the oil? 5-8 years

Will it bring prices down? NO

When there is an issue of being "addicted" to a product, the solution is NOT to find a way to get more of it.

    Use some common sense, people!

How did this video get featured? It has 1,600 views and 2 and a half stars, c'mon.

  • Here's something to ask John McCain the next time you See him.

Why do we need to use every last drop of oil if automakers are coming out with plug in hybrids in two years?

Plug-in hybrid vehichles planned for 2010

Chevy Volt, Saturn Vue plug-in hybrid,

    Think city electric,Nissan electric,Toyota plug-in hybrid Mercedes S400 hybrid,

    Zen motors electric,Honda plug-in Hybrid...

  • @ patiencepays ~

How many people will be able to afford these new hybrid vehichles?

I am all for them...but they are expensive, and far beyond many people's reach.

And the Democrats in Congress let the tax credit expire in Jan.08 for buying a hybrid.

Let's ask them why they did that, shall we?

  • SeekerNLife,

The status quo of America's dependence on dangerously undemocratic Islamic theocracies for much of its oil needs has to change.

The cruel destruction of Americans hard won retirement wealth has just begun and inflation resistant hybrid electric autos, renewable energy like solar may not make the current establishment rich but soon these businesses through economies of scale can offer to help stabilize peoples finances and offer the choice of personal energy independence.

  • @ patiencepays ~

There is actually a lot of wealth to be made in alternative fuels and technologies.

But they are expensive right now, and will be for the near future.

Wind & Solar power are vulnerable to the weather...and so are biofuels.

While I applaud T.B.Pickens for his new wind-farm plans, he really should be checking into the new Helix designs in wind generators.

    Those prop-slingers = high maintenance.

And whatever makes you think that hybrid elec-autos are 'inflation resistant'?

  • Seeker,

There are 26 Gigawatts of photovoltaics coming to market in 2009 with production growth expected to be 30% plus annually. Solar par with the cost of coal will be reality very soon and with electrolyzer produced hydrogen gas cheaper than $3 petroleum to run internal combustion engines or fuel cell cars like Honda's production FX and lithium ion batteries nearing acceptable performance levels. This 500 word limit Sucks

    CYA.

  • It's interesting that people would bring up the "perception" concept, yet, when it's suggested that we use a portion of the Strategic Oil Reserve to influence PERCEPTIONS, that idea is shot down by those same people.

As for that reserve only being used for "emergencies", that's NOT the criteria, but that's good propaganda for the right to throw around! It can be used during times of war for whatever purpose is in the best interests of the country, I believe! And this is one of those times!

  • @ dialco ~

Do you realize how much money the country would lose, having to restore the Strategic Oil Reserve at today's oil prices?

The SOR was replenished when Clinton sold it off through his cronies in the 90's, at about a quarter of the current price today.

Using the SOR then, did nothing to help the problem, and it would do nothing to help now.

And what would we do if a Real Emergency occured before the SOR was replenished?

  • Yeah What You Said , Nice come back

  • It's admirable that you kids are willing to spend time on issues like this, instead of sitting around playing video games.

However, you should ask the person that inspired you to get involved in this to answer a few questions for you, such as:

"Why are the oil companies NOT drilling in the millions of square miles off-shore that they already have access to?"

"It takes 7-10 YEARS to produce oil from a previously undrilled site. How will that help us NOW?"

Please use your OWN brains, kids!

  • Drilling can be part of the solution and i wish democrats would acknowledge it.

  • Good job guys!

  • The price of Oil today is inflated because of Oil Futures Trading.

Futures Traders have forwarded the idea, that there will be shortages three years out.

New Drilling activity would have an immediate effect on the price of Oil, because it would affect the perception of the future supply.

    For example:

When President Bush lifted the moratorium on offshore drilling, the price/barrel dropped $20/barrel within a few days.

And it will not take 'years' to bring oil to market, more like months.

  • Now if your T shirt said,

"Wheres my plug in hybrid electric automobile I can charge with my photovoltaic system?"

I think you would make a lot more friends.

But hey knock yourself out for big oil and maybe they'll give you some gas coupons when oil is $275 BBL. Demand will always outstrip supply as long as gaining the political system is as easy paying a few charismatic politicians way into office.

  • The PATHETIC Bush/mccain gang try to use this little clueless puppet 5yrs old looking kid for their propaganda to trick and distract the clueless sheep americans from the TRUE cause of their INFLATION suffering and the near collapse of the deepshiet U.S economy ....haahahahaaa...how pathetic...

  • Drilling for oil is by far not the answer for short term or long term sustainability as an economy!!

  • I said many times and I say again here for all you SHEEP AIR-HEAD DUMB PUNK WORKING TRASH AMERICANS..the TRUE reason OIL price is high is because of the corrupted Bush administration intentionally devalued the U.S dollar. Most of world oil selling and buying is in dollar..when the dollar value droped you need more dollars to buy the same amount of oil.The reason dollar going down, mad INFLATION is because corrupted Bush printed new money like toilet papers to finance the Iraq and Afghan wars.

  • drill for oil, drill anyone in the head that tries to stop us,as they are the traitors in our midst!keep up the good work!dont let the Benedict Arnolds get to you.

  • Too bad these teens did not do their research before becoming Youth for Oil! There is not enough oil to 'save' us! No amount of Oil drilling in Alaska or offshore! And if and when oil does get drilled will go overseas to get the best price!

  • Christ - this is silly - already we have the technology to rid ourselves of this massive independence. You tube Aptera for Christ sake! This is so funny that some kid simply thinks that drilling our oil here will solve everything without repercussions?!?! HAHAHAHA

Oh well it will take a few years before we can tap into anything useful at which time McSame will be dead or suffer from more dementia (not joking, the dude has dementia already)

  • Kids don't let kids drink oil.If this is not proof, I don't know what is.

  • This kid's a fucking failure.

  • He's done more than you. So don't complain the next time you go to the gas station.

  • "He's done more than you. So don't complain...."

Fooling yourself isn't helping anyone and nobody blames these kids. I blame the people that started this ridiculous "drill now" myth and keep repeating "foreign oil" suggesting we somehow will pump our own.

#1,We cannot produce HALF of what we use.

#2,The US does NOT need more terror targets.

#3,Drills we have NOW peak at 6 months then drop to ZIP.

#4,It has NOTHING to do w/ congress or "tree huggers".

    It's simply a political myth.

  • So what do you suggest to lower gas prices?

Note: We don't have any alternative fuels and it could take years for fuels to develop, besides the useless corn ethanol which makes matters worse.

  • "So what do you suggest to lower gas prices?"

Why don't you start by demanding speculators stop overspeculating when the supply is there, then ask where this money has went.

  • Look how well that's going. And try talking to OPEC too. See what they have to say.

  • what do trees need to produce oxygen? yep that right carbon dioxcide.with out it trees and plant would die!! less carbon, less trees, less oxygen. so all u tree huggers should be hugging some carbon too,and my"gas guzzling oil sipping freewill and love for freedom, socialist free suv!!!

  • Wow, "what do trees need to produce oxygen? yep that right carbon dioxcide.with out it trees and plant would die!! less carbon, less trees, less oxygen. so all u tree huggers should be hugging some carbon too,and my"gas guzzling oil sipping freewill and love for freedom, socialist free suv!!!"-this has to be the most idiotic statement I have ever seen on youtube.

  • The kid is either naive or his dad is somehow involved in the oil industry & feeding him crap.

His vid has a heading indicating Congress should drill for oil.

    CONGRESS CAN'T DRILL FOR OIL!

Now if we were in many So Amer Countries or ME countries the govt could drill for more oil

All we can do is turn over acreage to an outfit like Exxon & they will sell to the highest bidder.

They are bigger than some nations & have no loyalty to the USA anymore!

  • thank you, truth at last DillonX

  • This is like an exxon commercial

  • go to manhatten or los angelos. the air smells like shit. its hard to breath at times. if we dont stop it will be like that almost EVERYWHERE

  • The air in LA is cleaner than it was 20 years ago. What is wrong with America being energy independant? You can't accomplish that on unproven alternatives, in the meantime we are going to need oil until someone invents a car that runs off diet coke...

  • um people have invented cars that can run off water, more practically electricity.

  • Then they have done a piss poor job of mass producing them...

  • the air cleaner in LA than it was 20 years ago? what a joke. My family just moved to Northern Louisiana where we do alot drilling for oil. Do you know how many years it would take to get enough oil pumping to supply US? HA try about 10 or even 20. besides oil comapanies are going to give the oil to the highest bidder. probably most would go to Europe since the Euro is dominant over the dollar now. We dont have input on shit when it comes to oil, its all about money. dont listen to lying McCain

  • You are crazy and obviously don't know shit about how long it takes to drill a well? If we started 10 years ago we wouldn't be in this situation now! What the hell is the price going to be 10 years from now if we sit on our thumbs now? The oil is going on the worlds market, adding more oil to the worlds market increases supply and prices will drop. Why doesn't Europe buy all the oil up now then? You can always put a moratorium on giving the US the first option on buying the oil.

  • i dont know shit about oil? haha about 5 of my relatives have wells on their land and have deals with oil companies. The sheer mass scale of land wells and off-shore drilling rigs cant be done overnight jackass. it would take billions of dollars that we dont have to do that. the sad truth is that you will never see oil drop below an average of 4 dollars a gallon again. the only reason McCain says drilling at home is the solution is because dumbasses like you will believe him.

  • Billions of dollars that we don't have? What do you want to nationalize the oil companies now? Guess who pays for that? Oil companies do, thats what they do, that is their business, that is how they make a living. But you've got 5 relatives that have wells on their land but forgot to teach you anything about business and the laws of supply and demand...

  • Supply and Demand doesn't even come into the picture. First, oil companies have refused to build more refineries, second, there isn't any shortage of oil, just the refusal of oil companies to put more oil out onto the market. Third, demand for oil is pretty inelastic, as people will not be able to quickly adjust their consumption rates to higher prices. Fourth, even if we were to start drilling today, it would take years for the oil there to actually reach the GLOBAL market.

  • @ Wise1111 ~

Oil companies are not refusing to build refineries.

    Where did you get that?

It is the governmental regulations that have hindered new refinery construction, and NIMBY movements.

Refineries are stinky, and no one wants them built nearby.

But there are 100's of superfund sites which are already poluted where they could be built, were it not for regulations keeping it from happening.

  • Since the late 1970s, air quality in Los Angeles has been improving steadily," says Sam Atwood, a spokesman for California's South Coast Air Quality Management District, "and 1999 was really a watermark year." Although smog levels exceeded the health standard 42 days (which is not something many would boast about), for the first year since before World War II, LA did not have pollution greater than 0.20 ppm, the point at which the government starts issuing warnings.

  • alright this is my last comment i'm not going to argue anymore on how we don't need more oil to solve our problems. drill the fuck out of this bitch. seriously every drop. and then when its all gone we'll figure something out. ok?

  • ride a bike kid

  • God... Is youtube bought off by the Republican Party or what? This is like the tenth video I've seen being featured in the last two months where there is some yokel talking about lifting the ban on offshore oil. I can just picture McCain behind the camera waving a lolly pop at those poor boys.

  • just wait till the JOHN EDWARDS video comes out, then the liberals will be crying

  • So this is how the Plutocrats stay in power. By brainwashing the next generation of voters that defending Big Oil is patriotic and supporting conservation and alternative energy is unamerican.

    Genius!

Remember to tell your mom and dad to claim the t shirts as

campaign contributions to the grand alzheimers party and put the money big oil is paying them for this away for your collage fund if you make it back from Iraq once the draft is reinstated.

  • I applaud your genuine interest in politics, but the solution is not more drilling. Oil is finite, and we need fuel sources that will last us far beyond our dwindling supplies.

Solar energy, wind power, wave power, hydrothermal. We have many choices.

  • We have more untapped oil in the U.S. than is in the Mid East, yet it is illegal to go after it. By using both oil and alternative energies America could/should be energy independant...

  • Yes, I agree with you that America should be energy independent. On this we have common ground, but more drilling is not the solution to our problems.

Face it, we are running out of oil, and if we don't change course in the next 20 years, we will have a global energy crisis on our hands.

  • We have 100 years of oil left. Government just wants moar money. BUT I highly recommend solar/h20/ or any other options.

  • 100 years left?

Are you not taking into account the rising economies of China and India? Relying on oil will not bode well for us as a country in the future.

  • Thats like saying we have a hunger problem and we can't eat our way out of it...

We have more untapped oil within US territories than the Mideast combined...

  • I forget who this thought came from, but it is relevant. Oil is an addiction our country has. Like any addict, we will inevitably run out of our "drug" and be left with withdrawal sickness(economic and energy crises).

  • Oil is going to be our primary fuel until we can develop a car that runs off of ice tea, like it or not the oil era is not over...

  • Your view is simplistic at best, and fails to address the fact that oil companies have refused to increase production or the building of new refineries.

  • Refuse? Are you out of your mind? Oil companies gave up trying to get new refineries built because every location they choose offends someone. They were forced to spend tens of millions of dollars fighting every environmental and local interest group, when that money could have gone into refinery development.

  • They've nearly doubled refining capacity by expanding existing sites, so quit pretending it's an issue. Look up refinery utilization rates: there's room for millions of barrels more to be refined. The problem is we are running out of sweet crude (Peak Oil) and need more heavy sour refining capacity. Those are being built. Get educated.

  • Try reading what I put out there. I stated that oil companies are fought at every turn to build a new refinery, nothing about increasing existing refineries capacity. S. Dakota is in the legislative process of getting a refinery built it will be the first refinery built in 29 years. Get educated...

  • Reason why oil prices dropped is because people are using it less. People are not going out as much. There is also a significant decrease in accidents per month because people are only going where they are needed.

  • It's sad to see children brainwashed at such an early age. I think there parents should have played devil's advocate more in their discussion. Education must be reformed . . .

    Really sad.

  • yeah I agree completely. I don't care if kids have strong opinions (though they should be taught to stay open minded) but this is clearly an example of where parents make their kids have opinions. Clearly these kids are thinking in a one dimensional way... high oil prices... lets drill! It's a bit more complicated than that kiddos.

  • I agree, I would love an education reform.

There are too many liberal idiots in the schools that preech mindless dribble to their classes. It's a shame and I'm sick of you morons.

You liberals are so caught up in your own agendas that you fail to see what's best for the country and its people. It's time to stop caring about the stupid polar bear and the non-existant global warming that has gas over $4 a gallon.

God Bless America and God save it from the liberals!

  • BonusMoshPtI wrote-

"God Bless America and God save it from the liberals! "

God Bless America and save us from education!
