    Best wishes from Hamburg!

  • Con dos cojones!

  • maestro de maestros, el señor Andrew York

  • im currently studying this piece. it's kinda difficult but i think i can manage it in 3 months. sigh....

  • @seikun616 do you know how can i get this music. Who is the publisher.. I'm interested in this music too...

  • @lupoluke you can find his cds here on his website

  • @lupoluke you can get it off his website just search andrew york on google

  • just ate dinner with this guy!!!!!!!!!!! no joke.

  • Great song ! It 's so relaxing. Did anyone notice the first system of the song sounds just like El Decameron Negro ?

  • Marvellous piece written by a marvellous guitarist and composer for a marvellous guitarist and friend.

  • why did he tie up the D string to the headstock?

  • Can't say I know why but there's a way to restring which gives you like 7-8" of excess string from the tuning peg which isn't used. Weird he did it for just the D.

Maybe his D snapped before the show and this was a quick fix...?? Nonetheless this is an incredible piece.

  • great!

  • One of my favorite classical writers.

  • Well I've watched this video about 500 times over the last few months and I've gotta say, it never gets old. Major respect to maestro York!

  • a thing of beauty is a joy forever (J. Keats)

  • I find him more appealing than his main influence Ralph Towner... I just can't get into Towner's music and I want to...

  • Sor, Tarrega, Barrios, York? oh you had better believe it son... he is in that league...

  • for anyone who cares... his linus and lucy is now available... I cannot think of a more masterful arrangement for guitar from the original... an absolute tour de force!! just thought someone may be interested

  • impressive!

  • impressive!

  • Beautiful piece. Great performance. Nice video. Love the flourishes. Congrats Andy!

  • im playing that at my college too this week

  • Found this gentleman via Antoine Dufour's influences, this composition is impressive very beautiful. I'm a new fan!

  • Me encanta

  • He is totally an amazing guitar player and is you want a challenge try and figure out any of his songs, hah! I've finally learned to play the best parts of "Freelin'" after a long time *ahem* (with the help of tabs of course.)

  • Wow!! it's a master... awesome guitar player!

  • I saw him at interlochen and got to hang with him a bit at the airport, it was cool!

  • Very expressive. He doesn't suffer from "robot player syndrome". I wish he was my uncle.

  • This is the only song I've heard by him except Snowflight, and I love that song, so I decided to check out his other pieces, turns out, they're lovely too! Love the way he truly feels what he's playing.

  • Hear from 3:00 - 3:23

  • yeah its pure magic

  • Can anyone play that song?

  • Really unbelieveable song, yes...

  • He is the messiah

  • Andrew York is such a genius on the guitar. I love his style and the true feeling he puts into playing.

  • wat a lovely tone

  • Unfortunately his most recent CD was released and is only avaiable in Japan where he is apparantly more appreciated than he is here.

  • Are you referring to the Hauser Sessions? I got the mp3 download of it off his web site. Also available are CD's, downloads and sheet music for much of his works.

  • Andrew's compositions are very mono no aware, an emotion Japan has a long history of recognizing and enjoying. There isn't a parallel in the west really.

    ~Kai

  • I've always thought Andrew York had the best ear for contemporary composition out of the (now former) members of LAGQ. Beautiful song, and he makes the difficult look effortless.

  • I love his expression at about 4:03! incredible piece and player!

  • Yes. Imagine you lay on a beach^^

  • Please send me a score for this piece!!! Dying to have it.

  • I didn't know robot has so much emotion !!! jk

This is one of the most sentimental pieces every created.

  • awesome!!!

  • haha, on the first look I thought he was human.

  • This is the best piece of music he's ever composed, and one of the greatest pieces of music I've ever heard.

    ~Kai

  • excellent, Yorgos

  • I must agree with John. I saw Maestro York live tonight at Baruch College in NYC. He played this piece early in the 1st set. General admission. I showed up early in 8 degree weather, got the front row, center. Experience of my life!

  • Haha, i was there too! I'm from the Madison guitar class that arrived there. That night was actually my birthday lol. York gave an amazing performance, i'd gladly see him again. Letting Go was by far the best song of the night.

  • Wow, what a piece! Wonderful!

  • This is more than excellent. His playing has so much emotion in it.

  • rather ridiculous. certainly not human, no freaking way.

  • That was absolutely beautiful!!!! amazing!!after learning Pacific Coast Highway I truly began to admire this exceptional guitarrist..

  • No words...

    This music talks by herself...

    Congratulations

  • absolutely beautiful. well done, Mr. York.

  • As a former student of Andy's at Whittier College, I can tell you that he's not only a phenominal musician but a class act, stand-up guy. He spent time helping students with music theory homework who weren't even guitar students! I'm glad to see he's still doing what he loves. Miss you around Whittier Andy!

  • Tab it.Ihope I have'nt offended anyone.

  • That was class.Well done Andrew York.

  • What a piece and musician.world class

    world class

  • What a musician,and what a piece of music.

    World class.

  • Super human guitar playing.

  • I'll master my guitar and voice techniques first before practicing that piece.

  • I really want to have the music for this, after I perfect my guitar and voice technique. Hahaha!

  • what a piece,and what a musician.world class,world class.

  • The Master of Modern Guitar, So underrated its a sin!!!! He not only plays faultlessly and beautifully from the heart but also is the one of the greatest composers for the guitar alive today and maybe even of the 1900 century. Thank you Andrew with all my heart!! John

  • Yeah, johncat17. You're totally right! I agree with you 1000%!!!

  • Speechless... I'd rate this 5 stars anytime!

Now to get the sheet music for this!!!
