Why have you said he's on fast track to mediocrity? I'm not a dancer so maybe you see something I cannot. I just genuinely don't see what mediocre about what he's doing.
@gytn121 The music was composed by Hofesh himself. It's brilliant. While working with him, he told us about all the eccentricities he added, like the beeps and drum sections. Some of the beeps act as markers for the dancers so they know when to start counting for certain sections. It's amazing how structured this piece is. You can buy the music from the Company website.
I saw Hofesh Shechter Co in Plymouth theatre royal not two night ago. I have to say, after years of watching his videos ande following the group, it was FAR from a disappointment. Simply Amazing!
I was at this....got to say though the music makes the dance more forgiving when you are there. When you watch this just imagine that the clunking sound is all around you like you where 10 feet away from a steam engine that was resting at a station.....
Having learned some Hofesh rep recently it also feels better than it looks i think. Sounds typically contemporary to say - but there is a genuine organic & instinctive feel to the movement. Its fresh - looking forward to more!

HONESTLY!!!!! PROBABLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WORK THAT I EVER SEEM I WISH U COME TO COSTA RICA ( i mind the choreographer) AND GIVE TO US SOME WORK SHOP OR BETTER A FEW WOR FOR SOME DANCERS HERE U R UNBELEAVEBLE.
yea i saw this at the point too. wen to see some of my mates who where in a piece he made for schools which was awsome then these two pieces after which actual owned! i no i got a new influence for when i make stuff :D
Did the masterclass with leon (the guy in green) recently. it was the most amazing workshop, loved every second and it completely changed my dance style. awesome piece too.
cool. SAw uprising live recently, for the second time. It is awesome.
It's different watching on tape/you tube. The music is not half as powerful. And the editing gives me a strange feeling. Seeing dancers literally disappear....mhhhmmmm.
At least i can use this now to try and integrate some of their moves in to my dancing.
Love that last move where they ae all in a line. So simple but very funky. Wow HOoo!!!
I sor this show and did a workshop with them. I love there work its so amazing i think this was the show i watched! Love you guys spesh laura nd leon !! :D
Thanks

It's like Modern Art. It's probably considered quite good, but I just don't get it! :L

How beautiful is the "pas-de-deux" that opens the first act of "Uprising".
