@substanti8 Because everyone's musical taste is the exact same as yours right? I mean, that's what is so beautiful about music, that everyone has the exact same taste, which is why there is only one style of music out there.
@MissPeacebabe10 Ryan Bingham wrote the lyrics, the guitar part and performs both for this song. T-Bone arranged the piece and added the non-guitar instruments. Jeff Bridges actually can sing and play guitar and does so for most of the songs, but not this one.
This is tears falling out my eye or the good lawd pour rain through my ceiling....I'll stick with the latter.......thank you very much(jeff bridges voice)
this just shows how any song from any genre can be beautiful and truthful. people need to get over the idea of country being a "hillbilly" "honkytonk" type of music and listen to the good stuff, not the shit on the radio.
Amazing honesty. The heart and soul of an artist can always be heard in their voice. If you like this song and if you like this movie then be sure to youtube: THE UNANSWERED DREAMS OF A DEAD MAN ---- True art is worth true pain.
I usually don't enjoy country music, but this song really gets to me. The Dude definitely deserved that Oscar he won. Beautiful movie and beautiful song.
this movie was so amazing it left me breathless. Shows us the reality of life and how we can go from having the good life to nothing. Always love ur family, ur friends, and God, because they are the ones that care. The world aint always fair but we got to do our best during our time here.
Lady Gaga puts out great music for HER genre, which is fine! Her fame doesn`t dimish the talent of all the other wonderful artists around, which may suit your tastes more. There is enough room in this world for all artists, and all music.
Not since Walk The Line have I wanted to buy a movies soundtrack so much. I never even used to like country music that much but now I love it! Same with 50s rock music
not only did the movie transpire me (i mean that last scene in meeting up an ex and yet being so graceful despite his heart breaking...kleenex box please!)...and then this song....a true 'hurtin song' in the best western sense of the word....yet speaks of courage and resilience too: and that's the tougest part isn't it when it come to heartache in life: getting up when you want to stay down, moving on step by step (as 'bad' says in the film 'one day at a time') to begin your life anew.
To itbrandon u wouldnt no music if it fell out of the sky and hit u on top of the head, come on guy he is a good, this song isnt one of my favorits by ryan but it is decent
My god, what an incredible song!!! It;s a damn shame that kids are exposed to music like this regulary but they are exposed to Lady Gaga and Justin Baby.....i mean Bieber.
It makes you cry...This song doesn't just speak of one event. It doesn't speak of partying on a saturday night or Poker Face's. It has a meaning...It speaks the truth. I realize this is co-written, but I'm amazed that T-Bone Burnett, with all the film soundtracks he's been involved with (O Brother Where Art Thou, Cold Mountain, Walk The Line) isn't more famous than he is. Great song!
Well, I just started listening to T-Bone recently (only got the 20-20 disks). But in a day where Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber regularly make the headlines, it's darn tragic that a true artist like T-Bone Burnett is not recognized by the public (I'm certain within the industry he's well respected and admired).
@slimTSU12 He is from New Mexico! He was on Letterman after the Oscars and sang a few songs -- also said he was from New Mexico but now lives in LA. Not from Texas, as many think . . .
@Waltermelon1000 LMAO, I love how poofters keep bringing Lady Gaga up in every single aspect of the music world.....ofc she can never make music like this, and she's not trying to either since this song DOES NOT reach the general public in the same way as her braindead wailing does. Simple and just the way it should be. She makes a hell of a lot more money than these blokes though, which shows how twisted things are.
Right on brother, country has turned a new leaf in my consciousness thanks to Jeff Bridges and T-Bone Burnett. Not bad for a couple of Southern California boys. Historians will look at the early 21st century as the age of bad taste in bad music, with the exception of these little prized nuggets of talent. God Bless.
