  • And now you should know that MMA is our modern Shaolin university meaning that anything related to combat spot or Body mechanic is MMA and Bruce Lee was it founder....and a great Straight blast practioner.

Also when i called them clones ...i am simply saying that they all do practice the same move and don't evolve...

typical exemple is Rampage Vs. Jon Jone and Buddha knows how much i wanted rampagne to destroy Jonny Bones Jones.

but the guy is into another level... not your usual MMA Clones !!!

  • Well I am into MMA and macleod 1977 u r totally right !!

The only thing is that slowly MMA is migrating to kung fu, cause they all fight like clones... that is why Machida was able to be so dominant cuase is doesn't fight like most clones.

Anderson Silva straight jab that did drop forest Griffin and recently Okami was coming from that version somehow of a straight.

fast accurate with a lot of power.

  • This is wing chun's chain punches. I know from real life that (in wing chun anyway) they are delivered with tremendous power. They look deceptively weak but remember, wing chun is famous for its short range power like the inch punch. While a hook might be a good defense or counter, it's easy to say when you're not taking a dozen hard, rapid fire punches to the face. This technique was developed from real combat experience at a time when there really and truly were no rules.

  • There is a reason the STRAIGHT BLAST GYM doesnt use the straight blast and its called reality

  • the low quality sound of the guy hitting the pad sounds like the sound of testicles slapping the vagina

  • @zackhanscom

Totally out of context dude, but you had me laughing my ass off !!

  • he straight blasts like hes on a speed bag. That wouldn't hurt a child.

  • Good technique, but if u want more power try to use ur hips instead of just ur arms. U will get much more power if u want it

  • What happens when you close the distance and the guy scoops and slams you on your head?

  • @MrIllcat A little late of a reply but here's my answer: Obviously you can't do anything once you've been slammed but there's a solution against the scoop. It's called the Sprawl =)

  • stop posting ur Elite Fail Defense System. You should try a fail kung-fu blog cuz you would be fail enough to run it. :) good luck

  • nice to know that

  • The structure in the video is wrong. The hips must be pushed forward and you drive with the hips and rear leg. It's also extremely important to make sure that the feet, hips, elbows, and wrists are all connected. The punch is like a whip where all the energy is released at the end. If you haven't learned chain punching properly, which you obviously haven't, you shouldn't be teaching it. Just because it looks sort of right doesn't mean it is.

  • this guy is a paul vunak copy... its not completely bad, but yeah.

  • His punches are arc-ing too much.. They should be more flat and level when coming out.. No body connection means no power.. You don't walk or run with them you ground and press with the feet and legs.. There are also other elements like alignment and pulsing of the body's generators.

  • HA! this is so funny! These chubby guys slap fighting is the best. This is going to have me going for days.

  • It is a shame to see people teaching all these wing chun moves on youtube and that they are even teach out there.. They went through improper training and invented their own moves which destroy the true potential of Wing Chun..

just look for "Ip Man - Donnie Yen Fights" on youtube and watch the first one.

The actor is formally trained and talking about proper structure and straight blast..just look at that..

  • Please advise viewers that the "straight blast" you are teaching is informal.

Your student fail to relax his shoulders while punching which will make him get sore shoulders within a minute even punching in such a slow rate as he did. This is just one of the many things you have taught wrong. The moving forward move is just hilarious, if you move like simply walking up to your enemy. u lose gravity easily. Please do not humiliate what i have learned for the past 5 years in HK with Yip Chun...

  • @chun2005

  • nice commnets man

  • Comment removed

  • mma sucks not good for self defense.

  • @rmattyp oh mah gawd, i just feel compelled to comment to you. How fucking often are you going to run into a pro boxer?! Do you know any personally? Do you spar with them often? Do you usually see them out on the street instigating trouble? Jesus christ dude, don't make stupid statements like this.

  • Wing chun chain punching

  • "Track and field" can get you hurt bad if used against someone trained in WT/WC,or for that matter Southern Hakka fist

  • fag faggot sukaloh

  • lol.

  • TIMEEEE

  • I hate to go against bruce lee on this since he's the best. But can't you side step him and throw a hook punch to the flowing rib?

  • he can drop his elbow to block that hook punch

  • since u said he's the best do u think he will lose his block to a hook punch ?

  • @emaun423 Hey, Bruce Lee wasnt much for chainpunching during the later years. Ted Wong says chainpunching is worthless, better to throw proper punches.

  • I disagree...., it is supposed to be like a straight punch that after delivered goes down just enough so that the next can come out, this way is much more powerful than the "way" you show it.....

  • almost impossible to defend against

    a good technique

the answer however to bring your arms up in between the straight blast like a pyrimid or you hands in a prayer motion and then pull your arms apart

  • The movement is wrong, in my opinion. The sliding forward step can be fast if you do it fast. Also, it's the most balanced way to stand and move.

  • lmao i just punched myself in the eye trying to do this lol

  • you dont know shit, do ya. ?

  • no offence, but this is the most bull shit ive ever seen! 1/ u punch with the bottom 3 knuckles 2/ u dont just rotate ur arms, u throw the punch straight out and then rotate ur arm back to ur chest ready for the next punch. 3/ and its not called a straight blast its called a CHAIN PUNCH!

  • The concept is solid (coming from Bruce). But you need to teach your students emotional content ! They've got no structure and no intensity.

  • Being barefoot wont make any difference to useless fools like these

  • Your a complete idiot. I would hate to train under a teacher like you who belittles someone elses training structure as well as a persons physique. Your rude man!

  • The straight blast is all about balance, or rather the lack of on your opponents part. When you are off balance, you cannot "hook'em" or do any sort of take down. Momentum is everything when you're attacking. It takes away all your opponents effective attacks, rendering them off-balance and un-powerful, while at the same time quickly overcoming him with speed as you gain protected access to launch your most lethal weapons. ELBOWS AND KNEES!

  • this is a great tool for closing distance, for those who dont think it will work should try putting on a motorcycle helmet with some hockey gloves and check it out

  • _No good, in VING TSUN punch is very different, and very velocity VING TSUN punch is very very velocity and only power VING TSUN look EMIN BOZTEPE for example is thrue master og Ving tsun .

  • "the straight blast doesnt work, blah blah blah...MMA Doesn't use it.."

MMA training is very different than a street fight. This is a brutal, quick technique for throwing someone off balance, closing the distance, and ending the fight.

You are all focusing too much of the straight blast which usually lasts less than a second or two. The whole goal is to get to Close Quarters & use a muay thai clinch & rapid elbows, knees, & headbutts, which is used in MMA EXTENSIVELY, by the way....

  • @macleod1977 very true

  • @macleod1977 Ive seen it used in MMA it was not noticed i bet.............anyway wont you break your hands doing it that way?

  • @macleod1977 I agree, but i think another good part of this is the psychological aspect. your adversary will likely feel overwhelmed depending on the situation.

  • @macleod1977 The straight blast doesnt work because if you fight someone that knows what they are doing they will just nail you with a hook. Its silly. YES mma doesnt use it. Does that mean everything mma doesnt use is useless? NO but ask your self WHY doesnt it happen in MMA and if you ask THAT question you may find out it really is silly. Straight blast< left hook.

  • @hopked , carbonlaminate said it best, " It's a bridge, and adjunct to another technique. If you think you are going to KO someone with this, it isn't going to happen, likely. But do all jabs and light kicks KO? Nope, but they are often critical for setting up the shots that will KO someone."

If you trained MMA or Boxing, you'd know the hook is a slow, powerful, in-fighting punch. the SB is a fast, unsophisticated way to apply pressure as a BRIDGE to a technique used to finish the fight.

  • @imacleod1977 If YOU trained in boxing you would know that a lead hook is a very fast and powerful punch. The straight blast is silly and leaves you with almost NO deffense. Chin isnt tucked behind the shoulder the arms stay extended the punchs are weak. If you want a good punch to "set-up" learn how to throw a jab. A jab is a hard punch to get used to there are sooo many little things with a jab it can be weak or strong and is much better as a deffensive tool.

  • @hopked, I've trained Muay Thai, Boxing, and now JKD. There is no point in arguing "my technique is better than yours",

or arguing whether the hook is better/worse than the straight blast. I train & use both. Just b/c you don't like it doesn't make

it worthless. next you are going to claim BJJ doesn't work, either...

  • @imacleod1977 LOL bjj is probably the best most easy to use martail art out there it doesnt require speed or strength to do well just timing and propper pressure. Im not making a claim about JKd am I? No im just stating that the straight blast is a bad idea.

  • @hopked "BJJ is probably the best most easy to use martail art out there it doesnt require speed or strength to do well."

Uhh, no. Go train with the guys I know at Carlson Gracie JiuJitsu, they will set you straight.

  • @imacleod1977 LOL its pretty apparent you dont know much about these arts. Yes with good technique a smaller slower maybe 120 lbs woman can tap (or choke out irl conflict) a 270lbs block of muscle and they do it using technique. BJJ is a very easy art to do but it is very demanding to learn it takes hours upon hours of sweat and maybe even blood to get really good at. But once you are good it doesnt demand speed or strength. Just the skill.

  • @imacleod1977 The other side of that is if someone has better or the same amount of timing and technique as you then you will need either speed or strength but not a lot of people hit blue belt level bjj very few in fact. I mean its only a portion of people that do bjj that hit blue belt level (granted some gyms are easier to hit blue belt then others but still.

  • @macleod1977 NO not at all your missing the point the straight blast doesnt really work becasuse if you fight someone with basic boxing then they would just hook you and knock you the fuck out

  • @hopked Actually, the straight blast is a counter to boxing technique, by the theory that straight blasts is faster (from no pressure, no flexing from your muscle), and also gives more distance (straight blasts requires you to use the shortest distance available to throw the fastest punch in the longest distance..) Which results in punching the boxer down as he/she recieves critical damage from straight punches to the head, (straight blasts is actually a counter to the boxer). (to be continued)

  • 對此影片做出回應... Continuing... Besides, the straight blasts is just the very basic move you learn in wing chun, despite all the techniques in advance offensive techniques that are not shown here. However, i do believe it depends on the performers.. there is no 100% , i am sure chuck norris could lose a fight to a hobo considering many other factors during the fight during... just saying. so relax!

  • @hopked yehh man jus imagine trying to throw a slow ass hook while ur gettn a zillion little fairly powerful lquik punches to tha chest face, watever.either way ur gettn str8 blasted!

  • @Santuhclawz You have never seen a decent boxer through a hook have you? Or been straight blasted before?

  • There are so many misconceptions about Jeet Kune Do. Bruce would be pissed!

First of all these guys train concepts... Which is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT than the art that Bruce Lee developed.

Second of all, although Bruce Lee did use the straight blast in the early days of developing his art, he later discarded it.

    Why, you ask? Hmm...

  • please tell me why

  • Oh I dunno, when Vitor Belfort was using his modified version of it (a series of crosses) it seemed to work okay.

  • One of the most powerful techniques of JKD. Bruce Lee defeated a school Boxing champion of Hong-Kong, using this technique. And it was on a Boxing match.

  • guy looks like he's working on the speedbag to me

  • What I like with the chain punch is that it offers no room for the opponent to regain balance or counter effectively. The groinkick followed by chainpunching is prolly the most effective ive done in sparring. Get him off balance, when he gets hit 10 times a second he will not be steady on his feet. Finish it to the groin, trip him to the ground and stomp his head. Its Basic, its easy, it works.

  • Blah blah....like this works in the street. Get a life ztawiz...

  • It works for me... but I understand if u cant do it since it takes skill.

  • Not to knock it completely, but his is what I have seen happen when it get used against trained skilled, fit folk. Somebody eats a couple of not so painful punches and then they duck in or out, and a clinch occurs. Or duck out and blaster eats a hook. Or blaster, so intent on blasting trys to track the ducker while not noticing they are being taken down with the double leg.

  • As I said, it takes skill to make it work, and its based on your opponent being of balance.

  • Thats true but that can happen in any situation really. No technique is perfect. The way Paul Vunak teaches it is slightly different to this video and his way of teaching it seems more effective than punching a bag since he does it on an actual person wearing a helmet. So they normally go all out. Either way i get your point. Both of us are neither right or wrong in my opinion.

  • Its used more for an entry since its sudden and you put pressure on the opponent with forword momentum. If the opponent bobs or dodges it you would just keep throwing them, they are almost impossible to stop. If you dodge it once it would just keep coming. If it does work then you are close enough to elbow or headbut or use knees.

  • this is garbage and obviusly a sad attempt to invent something and make money off of be hotches...sadly many will get beat the hell up in the process

join a boxing gym or jui-itsu club take up mma but dont learn how to throw love taps at your opponent in hopes of running the guy off.......

  • nope, the chain punch is probably the most effective type of punch that can be used in a streetfight. Its almost im possible to block and its so usefull. They wouldnt use it in JKD if it was rubbish and trust me its no love taps. If you ever got hit by a series of them the fight would probably be over.

  • its a pity they didnt use a demonstrator whos not a novice, this looks terrible. If this was effective wed be seeing it in mma, cant say I recall it and ive seen and sparred those rules for years.May work against someone with no slipping skills or footwork or guard ,basically an untrained person.

  • you are ignorant. this is not for knockout power, this is to set up close range fighting.

  • i am fairly average standard amateur boxer and anyone would pay big time for trying that.

  • yeah, that's how vitor did it against silva.

  • Truly a clueless statement. Explore the technique and it's place, then get back to us.

  • One slight difference form what I know is instead of dropping the striking fist into position and scraping the target, we would thrust it forward into the target. It's more like a half circle, with the reloading fist curving back into position, dropping out of the striking tools path. This seems, to me, like a more efficient motion that better directs force into the target.

  • This vid is almost straight out of Paul Vunak's straight blast video, same material, slightly different words used (Vunak uses athletic, this guys used Track and Field), you can dl Vunak's St Blast Vid off emule:)

  • I've never seen anyone explain the straight blast as well as that! It's the exact same way I learned it. Great video.
