  • I was wondering on the rangers when you shift from second to third, does the shift lever automatically move up and to the right to find neutral and then you push up to go into third?

Cuz my friend says that if you push the lever up from third, it will go to the center of the shift pattern. kind of confusing question, but thx to anyone that can help.

  • I have the same car as you and I'm wondering when do you use the "D"? Is it my 5th gear? Do I use it on the freeway when I'm going over 50?

  • @BlueGiraffeWhale Technically that IS your 5th gear. Absolutely must use going 50MPH + (Unless you have some insane racing clutch inside that'll hold higher RPM, then you can probably get away with 4th gear till about 60 or so)

  • Hey man nice vid btw any advice on balancing?? I have a hard time with 50/50 and either it stalls or I over rev when my truck is going (own a ranger too). I'm still In the process of learning. Get back to me asap thanks!

  • nice i saw cut sing lol

  • Awesome tutorial man, it really helped me out. Your truck is awesome! On this video it sounds like a semi starting out on the highway, shifting up, it's awesome!

  • LOL, Thank you. That's good news to hear that it was helpful. The truck is indeed a "Beast".

  • It should not hurt the tranny if u use the engine to slow down. It might. Don't know what tranny u got

  • Exactly. If your gear box is absolute garbage, then it will. LOL

  • i see wat u mean

  • my dad had a ford ranger stick but he traded it in now i need a truck lol i use to drive it all the time

  • My big problem is where I live there's alot of hills and stop signs and there's been countless times where I've tried to do the "gentle" thing but my car is rolling backwards and I'm about to hit another person.

    Any advice of that one?

  • ooohh, I've had that happen a few times. What I do is (And I'll do my best to explain this) Obviously more gas, but not too much. As for the clutch, don't INSTANTLY take your foot off. Take it off a lot faster than normal, but don't delay otherwise it will burn out your clutch. Send me a PM if that doesn't make sense (odds are you gave me a good idea to make a video explaining this :D )

  • You some what make sense. I suppose I should find a place to practice....there IS a bunch of hills here.

  • I wasn't sure if what I had said made sense or not, so it's OK if it didn't. Can I ask what location? like the San Francisco hills?

  • e break

(hand break) release when the car moved

  • i do this different i have my fot on the brake and clutch and i take my foot off the clutch untell its just about to stall then take my foot off the brake and add gas then ur off

  • I started to adopt that method before I sold that truck

  • its a really good way i like it becauce ya don't move in inch

  • im struggling to get to the biting point fast enough at junctions.

  • You're struggling with shifting?

  • I cant get into gear 1 without the car jerking foward.

  • at a full stop (try this in a parking lot first) while in neutral, engine on, clutch in and shift into first. With the clutch pedal still in, SLOWLY release the clutch pedal WHILE giving the vehicle some gas. That part took even myself some time to get down.

  • Your advice was great. Im getting the hang of it at last. :)

  • I'm so excited! :D Feel free to ask more questions and even send me a Private Message too. I'll be happy to help you out more

  • give it a "little" gas then release the clutch slowly , not so slowly. that's how i do it , and i don't stall or take a lot of time

  • Yes, too slow or fast and it will stall

  • so when you press the "gas" pedal the truck farts?

  • I must admit I give you credit on that one. LOL

  • very good and cool video

  • too many Petals for my taste haha xD

  • Its one more..
