I love the sound of a diesel engine running at full tilt and Turbo/s screaming! It really gets the blood flowing that's for sure! And when they idle they just purr like kittens waiting to be brought up to full power again. There's nothing like it!
maybe you can't see it... but this ship is 183 meters long (about 600 feet) and 11.45 meters width (37.57 feet)....and carrying 5000 tons of coal...(11023.11 pound) It is a Dutch inland vessel wich pushes a barge... upstream mostly coal and downstream containers or gravel.
I remember my first ship, the Stena Seatrader, had a couple of 3512s as generators. I loved the sound, they were like train engines.

A little deception.
Fuel consumption is at this moment approx. 460 - 500 Lph for both engines in total.
But this is good for the Shell stamp collectors.
BTW nice maintained engine room. Did the engines had their top-end overhaul allready?
