We did have 1 playmaker and he was rookie and of 17 years old, our starter calderon injured, and the 3rd playmaker was a 0 at the left all the tournament no1 knew why he tooked him.Doing our worst tournament in the last years with quite some players injured, not at their lvl and u did have so MANY problems rolfmao..and with the refs..OMFG
Sorry man but calderon played in the 1st game and was not a factor. And also, navarro played the game of his life the last game way better than calderon so don't give me that hurt crap and injuries. Oh and the rookie 17 year old needs to stay 2 more yrs in spain and improve his outside shooting because I do not think right now he should be a top ten in the draft. That was crazy a lot of years ago..you dont know how to play FIBA rules(rest of the world rules except NBA) thats a fact, and the worst thing is the refs allows all your step violations, fouls etc etc If pau gasol would have done that steps violations for example they wud have called them all, and he have been playing in the NBA for 8 years already, its not aceptable..read rest of the world opinions about that and ull see, cos u are blinded..learn how to play clean..
Nobody has mentioned all that all fouls in this game favored spain in slowing the game. 2nd qt w/ 5 mins and spain was on the penalty. Even in a game like this with the high shooting percentage for spain and USA going cold in the 2nd half they still did not pull a win. Im sorry but intenationals are not that close as people say. Take away fouls and the 50/50 2nd chance points spain got and you got another blow out like the 1st game. USA didn't even have true shooters. Come on people wake up.

In my opinion, the only mistake this Redeem Team made was to bring only a single pure 3 point shooter to the squad, in difference with Dream team who had Bird, Mullin, Magic, Stockton.. not to mention Pippen and Jordan (who shoot better than kobe or Lebron from the arc. This is why teams got so close on the Redeem team, they play zone and force them to take the 3 point.. which show everybody their weakness.

Ricky Rubio is not nearly tall or athletic enough to stop any of those guys. He is only feet 3 inches tall...no taller than me! He is a point guard. Even the best point guard in the world would not be physically able to stop a Lebron or a Kobe.

In my opinion, the only mistake this Redeem Team made was to bring only a single pure 3 point shooter to the squad, in difference with Dream team who had Bird, Mullin, Magic, Stockton.. not to mention Pippen and Jordan (who shoot better than kobe or Lebron from the arc. This is why teams got so close on the Redeem team, they play zone and force them to take the 3 point.. which show everybody their weakness.
The one to blame is the person or coach to have recruited this team,not the players

Ricky Rubio is not nearly tall or athletic enough to stop any of those guys. He is only feet 3 inches tall...no taller than me! He is a point guard. Even the best point guard in the world would not be physically able to stop a Lebron or a Kobe.
That's not to say that he won't be a great player, he may well be. But in terms of comparison, Kobe Bryant at his age was at least as skilled, and had much better height and athleticism. There really is no comparison.

Those guys played together for years. It was hardly fair for 20-22 year olds to play against 28-32 year old who played together all the time. Take the old USSR as prime example.
