  • Are you sure of what you are saying @VraiDiouf ?

  • @nicholas28able 100% sure

  • SONNY OKOSUN is sending a message that the Muslims and Christians should stop killing their selves...that its about time Nigerians Unite "GOODLUCK JONATHAN"

  • I remember when this song first came out. It was rumoured that he had converted to Islam, until he told Prime People (remember that magazine?) "I sing for money, not Allah". Muslims in Nigeria were really offended at the time.

  • Listen to his song No Jesus No Life Know Jesus Know Life. God bless you.

  • I very much suspect this was done before he became a Christian. Sometimes we may need to test other religions to find out the truth. And he did, he found Christ!

  • We love you and you remain in our heart

  • I love Sunny. RIP Sunny!!!

  • Shameful to see how you claiming to be christians are disgracing christ with ur bigotry, judgemental and spiritually arrogant comments.

Who are u? who are u to judge anyone's faith? are u God's secretary?

Every moment in history puts a bad name on a group of people, at one time the crusaders ( cross aiders) were behind massacres of souls in the name of christ but does that make them an example of the faith?

U better humble urself and focus on ur salvation!

  • The only thing with Islam is that it has roundly discredited itself from the folly as a purported religion of peace. From Nigeria to Iraq to Afghanistan,Islam is VIOLENT.

  • That's a lie. In many African countries like Mali, Senegal, Guinea, etc. Islam is a very peaceful religion.

  • It should be peaceful everywhere! When you let these ignorant extremist push you around, you are partly to blame!

  • Should we say Christianity should be based on Pastors and Reverends molesting children sexually? Because you see, in America, there are many white pastors that molest children. In short, what I'm trying to say is that you can not take a group of people and relate it to the religion. The Qu'ran does not support violence the way you see people like you see in the Media. Those people aren't true Muslims, but I myself can not judge them, because I am a human being. God Bless.

  • Well said! My point which was incompletely expressed is this: All religion has enough idiot hypocrites whose behavior soils it. So I simply do not deal with religion, esp organized religion. It is a corrupted cesspool. just deal with god himself and you can't go wrong.

  • Thank you

  • Are u a xtian for real? if so did u miss out the part of the bible that says judge not so that ye may not be judged?

When u generalize, u demonstrate very little wisdom and exposure..no human represents any faith..only God saves and every man shd account for their own soul

If i were to look at ur comment i wd look down on xtianity...who wants to worship with bigots and spiritually arrogant and unexposed people??? but i know better. May God open ur eyes..amen

  • The bible says we can judge angels how come we can not judge ourselves. so do not take part of the bible to justify your stupidity. watch other doing wrong you will not telll them their wrong simple because bible say do not judge. how can there been an administration in the body of christ if no judgement among us?

  • @billartkool u don't have to call anyone stupid in order to prove your point. Its unnecessary, u have only succeeded in exposing your shameful manners..now i can rest my case because i see its a waste trying to have an adult dialogue with someone like u. Keep judging then, as the saying goes, when u point a finger at someone 4 are pointing at u!

  • R I P

  • No, he was not being "diverse" with religion. This song was created before he became a born again Christian in 1994. He gave his life to Jesus, and then made wonderful Christian worship music the rest of his life. He's dancing and singing with Jesus now!

  • COOL VID

  • i think with this video, he was just trying to let us know that no matter what religion you are, there's only one God that exists and thats whom we serve. so whether it is islam or xtianity, theres only one God. and thats whom we serve. a very extraordinary man.

  • Sunny Okosun was so diverse and appreciative of the diversity he grew up with that he endeavored in his music to accommodate this diversity. This is reflected in this song dedicated to our brothers of the Islamic faith. God who called so young knows best and may his soul rest in the bossom of Abraham. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

  • Sonny Okosun was a great musicician and may his soul rest in peace. I still however remain sceptical as to how a deepply religious and born again christian can record in a song glorifying another religion except for the purposes of personal agrandisement or to curry favour from influential moslems of the time like MKO Abiola for example of whom Sonny Okosun was an avid supporter. Still the history of Nigerian music will be definitely incomplete without mention of the great Sonny Okosun.

  • if there is internet in heaven this would be the right avenue for me to tell you i miss you,and to make you understand how much of you fan i was and still is...may your gentle soul which cuts across disco, muslim to christian hearts rest in the bossom of the almighty.R.I.P!!

  • i remember around 1992 or about, i used 2 love dis song. it was always played on LTV channel 8 b4 they start their programme.

  • One of the most charismatic Nigerian voices i ever heard!

  • I am terribly sad and sorry to hear of his passing. This is alarming. I just returned from Lagos....thing were a bit chaotic..i didn't even get to enjoy some of my favs...i didn't know he passed...May his wonderful soul rest in perfect peace.

  • on commenting i shed tears, i know we all must one day die but not so soon i never tot sunny okosun ur dad ll lef so soon but the almighty GOD has a better place for him where he belongs for real. RIP the LEGEND the FREEDOM FIGHTER above all GOD'S OWN MAN the EVANGELIST. u ll forever live in our hearts. we love u but GOD ALMIGHTY loves u the most . rest in peace sunny okosun

  • Your Dad was a great Nigerian. He was a rallying figure. His music was entrenched in unity and oneness of all Nigerians. This track "Mohammed" is quintessential Okosun. It is an example of what Okosun stood for. He was a musician per excellent. I didn't know him personally, but I grew up listening to his beautiful renditions. Take heart my brother. Your Dad is already in heaven watching over his family and the Nigeria he loved so dearly.

  • Take heart. I didnt even know Sunny Okosuns passed. his music is really classic and he is a true legend. He adressed real issues. its a shame that back in the 80's he was singing 'which way Nigeria' and 20 yrs later we are even worse off and he still didnt see a better Nigeria....May he rest in peace, he will be missed but his music and legacy reps for him!!

  • Sunny Okosun is indeed a legend. The world should learn how to live in peace.Imagine a christian gospel super star Praising Allah!

  • remember growing up in nigeria and grew up listening to this on Ltv 8 and nta 5 how time flies so much of our greats are really dying its so sad

  • great song from a nigerian legend. i wonder why this song was rejected by the muslims at last. nevertheless, it showed how versatile this multi-lingual man was. R.I.P

  • when was it rejected by the muslims???

  • My condolence is what i send to the family of Okosuns, without exageration he´s one of the vibrant, articulate and talented musicians Nigeria in particular and Africa in general had produced,he´s our ambassador

I pray that Almighty Allah grant him eternal peace in his aboard(Amin)

  • This song brings back old memories - God Bless.

  • Rest in Peace Brother!

The song goes to show the sincerity of some ordinary 'Nigerians' for a one, united, peaceful and prosperous country where, people of different religion, race, tribe/tongue and culture, live side by side each other in harmony building the country together with the God given abundant of resources.

However, the truth is that the few evil ones has destroyed that dream..

What is left is a 'NO MANS LAND'. Believe it now and save your tomorrow!

  • This is what its all about, a christain praising God in the tongue of muslims, no matter what we think we all worship one God. This song is the bringer of peace to a diversified Nation. Sunny Okosun may ur soul rest in peace. He was a Great Nigeria!

  • May the almighty grant you the fortitude. Your dad was a LEGEND!!!

  • R.I.P Sonny Okosun.

  • A great Man he was,a man of diverse culture, we will miss you. R.I.P

  • Sunny Okosun is a legend and a symbol of unity. For him to make a song about Mohammed even though he's a christain says a lot. His lyrics carries a lot of meaning and preaches peace and unity.

  • gosh..i've been searchin 4 dis song 4 a long time...love it!
